Susan, you are being much too hard on yourself. I was told at my first fill that they did not expect weight loss until the first fill. So give yourself a break.

Directions from Union Station to Mississauga
Wheezy replied to Wheezy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank you Susan. -
I'm taking the train to TO on business. Does anyone know what subway/GO train I could take from Union Station that will bring me near the Surgical Weight Loss Centre in Mississauga? I would like to get a fill while I'm there and thought I could save on the taxi fee from Downtown TO to Mississauga.

It is very interesting hearing about AB health care because I thought it was better than in Ontario. Ya know the no provincial tax, you would think that it would mean the province is so rich, it would have money to better provide for health care!!!! At least they are starting to cover for some lap band surgeries. Ontario doesn't cover any at all!!! Mandi, I have 2 kids (brats). They are old enough to know better and do better. I, like many other parents out there wish they had the wisdom of someone my age, but s'ais la vie!!!

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)

That furry feeling sounds weird...not happened to me yet. I did have trouble though the first 2 weeks after surgery. All I could get down was water. The Doc said to lay off everything except water because I had a lot of pain anytime I would try anything else. He said that the stomach can swell and cause a lot of restriction. He said that it would subside 2 weeks post surgery and it did. So hang in there, give it a little bit of time and you should feel better soon. -
To answer Mandi's and Donna's question, I don't feel different than I did after the supposed fill. So yeah, I wasted $50 but more importantly a day off work I could of used to do something fun!!!:faint:

So I need to tell you all about my fill in Ottawa 2 weeks ago. The Doc was just back from sick leave again. He had trouble getting the port (last time he got it first try). When he was finished I asked him if there was a total of 2.1 ccs, he said he didn't know because he only had a 1 cc syringe. I thought what the f..... wasn't he supposed to pull the proper syringe back and determine whether or not I had the right amount of fill ???? Anyhooo he then told me that I should call and make another appointment within the month and he would do the fill with ultrasound at the hospital. I thought "isn't it up to me when I need a fill??? depending on how I feel and the weight loss....And then he tells his receptionist to only charge me $50 instead of his usual $75. I'm thinking WHTF???? Was he or was he not successful in doing the fill???? Did I take a day off work and spend $50 bucks for nothing so that I could avoid the 12 hour return trip to Mississauga. Moral of the story....I made an appointment in Mississauga on the 18th of May to have another fill.

Wow Mandi, what a moral boost. They offered you for a new job and the size 12!!! I'm sure you made the right decision and good for you not to have sacrificed your sanity for money
-
Yeah, I believe this but with some modifications. I'm searching for the answer.

Thinking of ya Mr and Mrs Yo. -
Plenty of people have had trouble with fills. You are lucky that it's easy to find. Some people need to have fills done by fluro.

It's called Living and Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery. It has 100 recipes. It's geared mostly for after gastric bypass surgery. The recipes are high protein, low fat and low carbs. Carbs. are not tolerated well after gastric bypass so anything that is sweet is sweetened with artificial sweeteners. Not sure that this is the book for us.

Went for my 4th fill today. I now have 2.1ccs in a 4cc band. Doc had trouble getting the port so he said that next time I go for a fill, he wants me to go to the hospital and do it with the help of ultrasound. I think my next fill might be in Mississauga. Anyhoooooo hope this is the one.

Yeah, what's up with that???? Thought that you came back and were so happy to be home you were on a bender!!! Glad you are back and reunited with the Mr. I didn't think he would survive. I don't think that you should leave him again!! I'm sad to hear that you did not get compliments from your parents so I'm going to do it for them. Yoda, you look awesome and I am so proud of you. That's what they were thinking an didn't say it. .
