The things we do for our pets!!! When I worked at the animal hospital, I was 21. We once admitted a cat that was also 21. I was fascinated by the fact that that cat was born the same year I was. Didn't know they could live that long. Needless to say that the cat never left the hospital, well not earthbound anyway.

Cloe, you are a busy woman. School Bus Driver and a lamby birther!!!! Do you help deliver the lambs when you are home?

Green, sorry about your cat. My cat is also overweight and has been on diet food since she was a kitten. I once worked in an animal hospital just after I graduated. We once had a cat that weighed 30 lbs, you have never seen the likes of it!!! Chloe, my puppy likes the cat but my cat is very annoyed about the whole thing. I bet she wishes that puppy never set foot in this house. Although, there's plenty of time for the cat to get used to the idea. Green, your neighbor really sounds like a psycho!! I would stay the hell away from him. I would have spent the money for surveillance equipment if I were in your situation Leila, cool, I didn't know you could do that with the picture

[/url] This is Austin (cat) and Bobbie (dog). As usual Austin is minding her own business, while Bobbie has a different mindset I know the picture is small. I'm trying to publish photos from webshots.com and I'm not very familiar with it. I will keep trying.

Mandi, you're amazing!!!

That's quite the SARS story. The staff who contacted SARS, what are they off with, is it lung related? O.K. Kim,I think I will quit my gym and join one of the women's gyms nearby. I'm undecided, for now while it's not too cold, I will continue walking Thanks for being a nag

The pain threshold of the average man. lol. I work in a hospital lab and anytime there is someone that faints because having their blood taken, it's a man. We have "bring you kid to work" days and we love to show the Anatomical Pathology Lab. We have some organs on display and most of the kids are fascinated. Every year there is at least one kid that feels faint and it's always a male Green, my Dr told me the pre-op diet was for my benefit. It would make it easier on me for the surgery and that it would help me to be compliant after the surgery. I did OK with following the diet, a few slips, but mostly OK. Some surgeons, I hear, won't perform the surgery until you have lost 10% of your body weight. Anyway if you can, try to stay on the pre-op diet as best as you can. It's for your own good. <<<<<Hugz>>>>>>

The strangest thing just happened to me. I was playing with the text at glittermaker.com and a picture of a very scary guy popped up. The word Hacked was above his head and other writing that was not in English. Very CREEPY!!!!

Well 3 days into September, and I have already exercised twice. Yeah! I live along the St Lawrence River. We have beautiful parks all around us and a 50 Km bike path. I have been walking on the bike path and since the weather hasn't been the greatest, there are hardly any people around. All the parks close after Labour day so after today there will be no one around. No excuses not to exercise!!!

Thanks Cloe and Lila, Hey Cloe had a rough night?

I woke up, believe it or not, with pain in my lower back. There was discomfort around the incisions, but nothing like the pain in my back. Weird eh? They gave me Demerol and gravol in the recovery room but generally they don't give much pain medication because it's not usually needed. The person who accompanied me the day of surgery, went to the drug store to pick up pain medication (liquid codeine). I stayed in a hotel because I lived too far from the clinic. As soon as I got back to the hotel, I took the pain medication and went to bed. I awoke twice in the night to take more pain medication. The next morning I felt good, but the 6 hour drive home did me in. I was very uncomfortable, I had a pain in my stomach, literally. The next day I phoned the emergency number and the Dr called back right away. The Dr deduced by my symptoms that I had inflammation in my stomach and the band was very tight, hence all the pain. The only thing I could drink was Water until the pain subsided. It took exactly 1 week which is what the Dr predicted. I spoke with the Dr every 2 days and needed another prescription for pain. I was very impressed with the care, even if it was only by phone. I am only telling you this because some complications could happen. The day of my surgery, I met two people that had been banded who told me that they had no pain at all. When I woke up in the recovery room, there was someone there who had her surgery just before me. She was bubbly and happy and pain free. Because I did have a considerable amount of pain, I was worried that there was something seriously wrong with me. It turned out to be minor and I worried for nothing. I went on the LBT chat line and asked several people about the pain I was having and I also asked some of my fellow Canadians. From my observations, most people have relatively no pain.

Kim, I'm at a lost for words and that's not easy to do. In fact right now I can't see through my tears. You go Girl!!! I'm Verkemp. Talk among st yourself.................. OK, I've calmed down now, your words are inspiring, I still don't know if I can make it to the gym yet, maybe 20 more pounds, maybe sooner. I worked in a hospital in Ontario during SARS and know how difficult it was, I cannot imagine how it was like to be in the GTA, and worst a hospital that actually had SARS. You are my hero, as well as all your co-workers. I don't know what I would have done if we had confirmed SARS patients. The world needs people like you:girl_hug: :girl_hug: :girl_hug: . Kim, I live in the village of Long Sault. Population 2,000 people, the only thing that keeps us sane is that we are 1 hour from Ottawa and 1 hour from Montreal. I doubt that you live close but you never know.

Oh my goodness they are cute. If Mandy doen't want OREO, I will take it. He/She will make a good companion for my puppy (Bobbie).

I had a slight complication, so I was able to return to work after 2 weeks

Kim, I too have had a gym membership for 2 years. I have gone maybe twice in 2 years!!!! The last time I went ( I have asthma) I had an asthma attack, it wasn't pretty. I don't have a quiet little wheeze, I have this SARS sounding cough. People looked at me like I was contagious. One man leered at me shook his head and said tsk, tsk tsk. I can''t go back. I was so embarrassed. I'm going to have to get over it. I can imagine what everyone was thinking, "look at that fat contagious, germ spreading blob". Boy, putting those feelings in writing is an eye opener. I can really get down on myself! Anyway, have a nice day!

I weigh myself evey Wednesday. I just had to do it, punish myself. I was feeling bloated and yucky so what do I do. I confirmed it with the scale. I gained 2 lbs!!!! Now I am digusted with myself. This is why they say to only weigh yourself once a week. :) :) Oh yes, Happy fricken Labour Day everyone.
