Good luck Swanny with your upcoming surgery.

Happy Birthday Cloe! :humble: :music: The burning feeling you are having could be acid reflux. Did you try taking an antacid? If it helps, it might help you determine what it could be.
-
I didn't have a lot of gas except for the first few days. Moving helps eliminate it. I also had the shoulder pain from the gas. Isn't weird to have a sore shoulder because you have gas? I've heard of referred pain before but I've never experienced it until the band.

Welcome Mum, I've only lost 20 lbs so far but look what this weight loss has already done for me 1. Reduced my fasting blood sugar from 7.5 to 5.9. 2. Eliminated one of my blood pressure meds. 3. Reduced the amount of acid reflux meds. I haven't even had my first fill yet. It's scheduled for Oct 5 and I can't wait to see what this will do for me. Good Luck with your journey!!!

OK how about an update. 1 week has passed, how is everyone doing. + + :scared: + :scared: = 8 Eight Pound Club. Wheezy's update I said I would exercise 3 time a week. I only excised twice. That means I will do it 4 times this week, starting today. Last week , I lost 1 pound. I haven't had my first fill yet so, I won't get discouraged.

I guess it will be the social events that will be difficult when there is food involved. I just had lunch with my sister and two other friends. The two friends commented on how slow I ate. My sister and I said, yeah, I've always been like that. I'm such a fibber!!!:phanvan

That's called being motivated. :clap2:

Green, Glad things went OK for you. At least your husband went with you. My hb had a crazy summer at work, he asked for the time off to take me but they could'nt let him go. I was not about to delay my surgery, so I asked my sister to take me. Thank God for family!!!

Mandi, Went to Walmart and found the Vita-Vims. They are much better tasting than the Centrums. Thanks for the advice. Question: Who did you tell you were having the surgery? I told no one except my hb, my sisters ( I have 2) , and my daughter. None of my co-workers know, nor do I feel that they should. The time I had off to recover, I told my co-workers that I was sick with my asthma. I live in a small town and everybody knows each other, so word could spread fast.

Mandi, Happy shopping. I said that I would not buy more clothes for a while. I have many sizes put away and I should be able to get away without having to buy some. I did buy something to wear to a wedding I'm going to next weekend, and of course another pair of shoes. How many of you are like me? I hated (still hate) shopping for clothes but shoes, that's a different story. I must have bought about 10 pair of sandles this summer!!!! The ones I wear the most, a pair of flip flops I bought at Walmart, not Walgreens!!

Green, been thinking of you, hope all went well with your surgery. Let us know.

Speaking of Scotsman, my niece is getting married next weekend. Her mother is French (Quebecoise). It's the fourth generation on her mother's side getting married in the same church. So, keeping with tradition, my niece is getting married in the same church. Here's the funny part..... The church is in the east end of Montreal. You probably would not hear a word of English in this area. My hb, as requested by my niece, arranged to have a piper, pipe her out of the church. The locals will probably not know what hit them when they hear the pipes. I'm guessing there may be a crowd outside the church wondering what's wrong with the church organ Haha! -
Oh Mandi, now stop being a jerk!!! lol I live in a border town, just a 5 min. ride on a bridge to the U.S. but I've never heard of Walgreens. The town in New York state we often go to does have a Walmart though. They also have a casino. I did look for Vitamins at the casino, but didn't find any there, I did find some slot machines though. lol I live close to a reservation that is situated in Ontario, Quebec and New York State. When we were kids we used to boat to this bar that was on the reservation. The bar had a line across the floor. On one side of the line you were in Ontario, and the other New York, take two steps out of the bar and you were in Quebec. When you docked your boat you were supposed to report to customs, but most of us never did and they never policed it. When you ordered your drink, you were in New York, the drinking age was 18 at the time, if you crossed the line, you were in Ontario, the drinking age was 21. Good thing no one checked our IDs. The bar is now closed, hasn't been opened in years. We sure had a great time there. Boy, sometimes I can ramble. I will go to Walmart to look for the Vita-Vims. Thanks for the info

Cloe, I haven't had a fill yet and I get the stuck, golfballing feeling. I usually get it when I eat any type of white bread. You said you get that feeling and you know it's your fault. Could you elaborate? Is it when you eat too fast or not chew enough? Is it certain types of foods? Is this supposed to be a good thing that happens? I'm still so new to this so sorry about all the questions.

Argon, you are doing great!!! I can't wait for my first fill. It's taking me some time to figure out how the band is working for me and I am realizing that it is different for everyone. For instance, I did not have time for Breakfast, so.... like I did before the surgery, I would pull up to the drive through at McDonalds. I ordered an Egg McMuffin. Well, I'm no longer a slime virgin.....I had two bites and that was it. I know now that anything made with white flour I can't take. Isn't that great!! The chewable multi-vitamin I have is Centrum Select. I will have to look for the Vita-Vims. Do you remember where you got them? We don't have a Walgreen where I'm from is that similar to a Walmart? Lila, I would love to have my head think that I was no longer on some kind of diet. I was banded less than a month ago, it will take some time, maybe another 30 years? Irishmist, you brought back some memories for me. I used to belong to a TOPS that was many years ago. It was after my first child was born. It was in one of our community centers and I was probably the youngest one there. I lasted maybe... 2 months. Atkins, I remember it well.... It's funny that it was mentioned by Argon, I thought of starting it today!!!!

Lol Argon, Irish Spring, made for men,but I like it too....

Mandi, I'm sometimes a little confused about how I should be eating. I was thinking the other day I should start on Weight Watchers. I've always been on or thinking of being on some sort of diet. I have to review my post surgery dietary notes Thanks Question Has anyone found a liquid Multivitamin? If you have where did you find it. All I could find in liquid form was for infants. I have chewable ones but I am having trouble with the taste. I have this thing, once I don't like the taste even just a little bit, I won't take it. I thought that if I could find a liquid one, I could get it down if I plug my nose and not have to taste it so much!!

Irish Mist You can't be boring, you chose a handle of a very great tasting liqueur. I try to stay away from it cause it's loaded with sugar. You can have it on the rocks, straight up or in an Irish coffee. Recipe for Irish Coffee 1 once of Irish Whiskey 1 once of Irish Mist Coffee Whip Cream Try it, it will keep you happy and the leprechauns around. Tell us are you Irish? Do you like the Irish, do you love the Irish? Tell us, is there a reason you chose this handle? There is so much you could tell us. I'm waiting.................

Well I weighed myself today and I lost one of the pounds I had gained. So now to meet my 8 lb goal for Sept. I have to lose 9. I'm still thinking about the gym........ Question I had a Dairy Queen Kid's cone today, I ate some and then my puppy had the rest. That's not really cheating is it?
-
Jack, How is that possible! Did your cravings stop after the surgery? My favorite is definitely salty and crunchy, and oh yes what about bread, toated garlic bread!! I can't eat it anymore but I still crave it. :hungry:
