Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
Wheezy replied to Yoda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yoda, Congratulations on your inches lost:clap2: :clap2: That's fantastic!!! Tell Mr Yoda congratulations as well. 6 inches lost in the chest is better than 6 inches lost somewhere else !#*!$#*#$:omg: -
I chose the band because it was reversible. I don't want to be fatalistic but I thought that if I became very ill with say, "cancer", I wanted to be able to unfill the band and fight for my life. Gastric bypass is not reversible and with the malabsorption, I felt that I wouldn't be able to fight as hard. I did it for my health, I didn't want it to be a detriment to my health.

I used Benefibe for a couple of weeks and did not find that it helped much. I then tried Milk of Magnesia (MOM) and found relief.

Lol Mandi, I knew it.

Thanks Neenagh, My first NSV was that I came off of one of my hypertensive medications and that was only 20 lbs!!! I'm hoping that I will be able to come off of the other. My second was that I was able to fit in a pair of jeans that I couldn't before the surgery

OMG, Nude pictures on the Before and After photos page 28. Some people sure don't have body image issues like I do. I was showing my husband before and after photos when I came across KellyBelly. My husband just walked out of the room.:omg: He didn't know what do do with himself. :peep: I thought it was rather amusing. It was the first time I was sharing with him this web site. Too funny!!!

OK I'll ask!!! What does NSV stand for? :faint: :help: It took me a long time to figure out what PB meant, I was embarrassed to ask. I'm still trying to figure out some of the lingo here.

You're too funny Yoda:) :biggrin1:

This looks like the sandwich maker they sold years ago. I have one stored away that I bought years ago. I bet your recipes for This would work in the sandwich maker.

Mandi's right, 60 lbs in 4 months is awsome. Fricken awsome, is that what you meant? Seriously, all of you are doing so well, while I sit here and the scale is not moving. Can't wait for my first fill.
-
Mandi, come with me at the clinic for my first fill. Get in your car and drive, I'll drive the last 6 hours!!!
-
I also am experience heartburn, but I had it before the band. I took a prescription drug call Prevacid. When I brought my meds to the clinic the day of my surgery, Maria pointed at it and said "You won't be taking that anymore". I was so nervous about the surgery, I never asked why. Well I still take it when I need it, but I thought that the reason for taking it daily was to prevent the heartburn. The acid is bad for your insides and from what I've read on this site that it's bad for the band. Does anyone else take a prescribed antacid? Is it something that we are allowed to take?

Irish and Cloe, don't worry next week will be better. Can't wait to hear from Mandi.......

Thanks Yoda for the explanation. What a story!!!! I don't think that I would endure 20 and 30 tries. You must be a very patient person. We'll I weighed myself today and again no weight loss. October will be a better month after my first fill. Today I can't stop eating. I haven't stopped since I got home frome work. This is what it was like before the band, it's all coming back to me now.
-
Thanks Yoda, I guess I'll just have to see when I get there. I'm anxious to get my first fill. I haven't lost any weight for 4 weeks. Some day when you feel like it, I would like to know about your fill not going in you band
-
I'm beginning to think that the TLBC is better organized as far as fills. My Dr. just told me that I should probably think about scheduling a fill at about 6 weeks. I called to make the appointment but they could not fit me in at 6 weeks, so I am waiting 7 weeks. After the first fill I guess it's up to me.
-
Good luck tomorrow with your weigh in. I'm sure you will do well. Mandi, I was just reading some stuff at the general lab band talk and I was thinking of you. Someone stated that over-fills could lead to slippage, esophageal dilation etc. I don't know what the etc. is but I'm sure it's not good. Maybe, you should take a couple of days off and travel to Mississauga (the price of gas is quite low now) . I'm worried about you.

Rant away and don't give up Cloe. No, you don't smell at all, even though you are surrounded by a batrillion lambies. Batrillion is such a big number is it? Lol
-
Ugh!!! Aza so glad you asked the question. I'm much clearer now

I also used to drink beer when I was in college in Kingston. It was cheap and it did the job. Now I have aquired a taste for wine....but lately, I have a sip of wine and Oh the heartburn!!!! It's time to move on....what is it Kim,.... Margarita Ice? Does it give you heartburn?
