    Argon's Activities

Originaly posted by Argon Now I have to go... Dan's making me make a birthday and Christmas list. Ugg... I'm so bad at that. I really don't want anything. All I have on my list is comfy socks, and perfume. Can you guys think of any thing? Even list things YOU want, and maybe that will give me some ideas of things I might want! Well, how about gift certificates to get new clothes, a day at the spa, pajamas, house coat, body cream, bath salts, scented candles, jewelry like something with your birthstone or something with a Canadian diamond, like a bracelet, pendant, ring, anklet. How about books, like your favorite author or a book of slow cooker recipes. Oh I know, a new computer or accessories for a computer, a new laser mouse, maybe a some of software you'd really like. A laptop so that you can have access to the internet wherever you go. A tool kit for repairing glasses. I can go on and on......Let me know if you would like anymore suggestions. Hope this helps

    Neenagh's Nutty Nattering

Lila, you're probably right, she should be reported. What I fear the most is that she is a master manipulator. She has a way to turn things around and makes it look like it's everyone else's fault. I tried talking to my superior about her behavior in the past and he said that she had reported me as being the problem. Only this time she did it in front of people so there are witnesses. And when she wants to be really nasty, she will say it in French so no one else will understand what she is saying....except me.

    A Canadian "NSV" Thread

Mandi, your mother sounds a little controlling...no cheeze, no sweat pants.....
  5. And some people are tighter in the morning. I've been experiencing this phenomenon since my second fill. Lately if I try to eat in the morning, it doesn't matter what it is or how well it was chewed, it just doesn't want to go down.

    Neenagh's Nutty Nattering

That's just such a shame. I wish I knew how to do that but it's time I start practicing. Speaking of work, I work with a crazy lady. I don't really work with her but sometimes we have to communicate about lab stuff. She is in charge of the Transfusion Medicine Lab. just down the hall from me. We share the same staff and we both have to manage the day to day stuff like, scheduling etc. She's always been a little crazy but since she is menopausal, Man, she's become psychotic. She flips out on people 2 to 3 times a week. I had a bad week last week, and Friday it was topped with the psychopath flipping out on me. It was nuts, she walked in my department and started chewing me out (yelling) in front of everyone. She then left and came back in to do it all over again, she repeated this twice more. The 5th time she just walked in and walked out again slamming the door. I am tired of putting up with this. I am considering reporting her behavior as harassment. (This is not the first time she freaks out on me.) It's a dilemma. To report or not to report. I am fed up. It's so upsetting to everyone when she does this, but we all walked on eggshells around her. The fear is if you report her, she will make things even worst, and who wants to deal with that.

    Chronicles of Cloe!!!!!

That's awsome Cloe doing all those crafts. I don't have an artistic bone in my body. Give me science and math and I'm happy. I once had to roll my own candles...It was 1998 during the ice storm. No electricity for weeks not a candle left to be bought anywhere, so I went to the local craft shop, bought sheets of bee's wax, a roll of string and rolled some candles. They didn't burn very well but they did give off light in the darkness.

Thanks everyone for your empathy. You're sure are right, cut backs sucks. Especially in health care because we all suffer in the end.
  10. Dawn that's wonderful 11 lbs so far in October WTG :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: As for the restaurant food, can't help you there yet, just experiencing restriction for the first time. When you get back from Quebec City you will have to tell us how it went.

    Green's grumblings

Green, so sorry about your brother. And sorry about your health concerns. I am also baffled about the liver thing. When you had your surgery, the surgeon has full view of your liver, you think he would have mentioned if there was something wrong. My consent to surgery included that they could biopsy my liver if they saw something wrong. I think the consent forms are pretty standard. Do you remember reading that on your consent for surgery? Does anyone else?
  12. My first Pb the other day in Ottawa, it started with food and followed with lots of slime...slime...food....slime...slime......I forgot to tell you, after that episode I went to the meeting. The meeting lasted about 31/2 hours. When it was over, I was again starved, so I stopped at a Tim Hortons on the way home. I ordered a coffee and a biscuit. I thought that a biscuit might be safe. Had a few bites of the biscuit and then the PbS returned. Earlier at Costco, I purchased some plastic cups, they were in my trunk. I stopped the car went to my trunk and put a couple of cups in the car. So I drove and pd, and I drove and pd, At one point I realized that sooner than later I should stop for gas, my car was on empty. I stopped in a little village on my way home where I knew I could pay at the pump and not have to go inside to pay. While I was putting gas in my car, I pd three more times on the pavement beside the pump. What a sight!!!! I'm sure they have me on the surveillance video secretly hoping that I never stop to buy their gas again!!!!

Mandi, I just picked out a new pair of glasses, actually 2 pair, one pair is sunglasses. It had been 2 years since my last eye exam so I had them tested and my prescription changed. I really only need my glasses when I'm at work, but lately, I've been getting a lot of headaches, Anyhow, I walked in the eyeglass store and picked out a frame, the person serving me was male. He said, "if you were my sister, I would tell you not to get those frames ". He said I should pick something a little more modern. So I allowed him to help me pick something that was more avant guard!!! They are rectangular and the frame is a blackish-blue. My sunglasses are large also rectangular and brown.....Kewl.. I don't have them yet, I expect they should be ready early next week. Hey Congratulations on the job offer. Your work sounds like fun...Maybe I'd like to do that when I grow up
  14. Good idea Neenagh, I will have to try the diet thing.

    Neenagh's Nutty Nattering

OK so you know or maybe not, I am in Charge of the Biochemistry lab, in the hospital I was born in. Well, we will be undergoing construction very soon. We are amalgamating 2 labs into 1. That is the lab from the other hospital and ours, at our site. The problem is that we were not given anymore space to do it. So for several month, I've been working with the architects to try and jam everything in the same space. Today, the assistant executive director sat down with the architects to go over the plans and she was slashing some of our storage space.....without even talking to me or anyone who actually has to work in the lab. She has no clue how a lab functions or what is needed.....She did this in front of all of us....She said that we did not need a shelf (one that I included in the plans for storage) because we would only clutter it with JUNK!!!! I was so mad I had to leave the room. This may seem trivial to you but the SH.....t that we've been putting up with, like training staff from the other site in the middle of prime time vacation, the extra workload, not enough staff etc. All that and I flipped because of a shelf..... Boy this feels good getting it off my chest... Thanks for listening
  16. I can't be doing that for the rest of my life. It will be a challenge though... how about anyone else. Have you been invited to someone's home and have not been able to eat what was served? If so, how did you handle it? I've eating at my sister's home, she knows, so I just tell her. But what about the in-laws, friends you haven't told, people you work with etc....

That's unf..ing believable that someone could get away with that. And the cops....what the f...k do we pay their salaries for. I know it's not the cops fault but the laws should be changed. That _itch hit you and just took off. What kinda world we are living in!!! It's insane. Maybe small claims court is the way to go, but it's the hassle of it all. I was once hit by someone in the parking lot and they paid for my damages. At least there are still some decent people in this world. I had a _itch of a day. I think I used the f word probably 50 times today. So here are a few more for that irresponsible, blood sucking, arrogant, stupid f...ing _itch!!! f... f....f....
  19. People can be so cruel. Something about my sense of humor though.... I find it kinda cruel...and kinda funny.... Go figure

    Oprah

Anyone see the Oprah show today? It was about gastric bypass and how once someone can no longer overeat, they substitute the addiction with another, like alcohol or sex or some other addiction. The point being that you must deal with why you have a weight problem before you should ever consider weight loss surgery because you may get a "transference addiction". Carny Wilson was a guest. She talked about her alcohol addiction after her surgery and how she overcame that. Has anyone experienced anything like this after lap band surgery? <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
