Before I had lap band surgery, I attended an information session for bariatric surgery. Dumping occurs in most patients after the RNY procedure. It usually causes you to feel very very ill. Not only do you have to run to the washroom you feel terrible, like you are going to die and you have to lie down. My guess is that your symptoms are unrelated to the band. Hope you feel better soon

I did go went through the whole laundry thing. To make things worst after a few days of the treatment, I call the Doc to say that the rash was getting worse. He met me at the hospital and from 10 feet away he told me to continue the treatment. The next day I saw a real Doc. He asked me why I thought I had scabies because they were hives, NOT scabies. I was sooooo mad!

Let that be a lesson to all of us. It's the squeaky wheel that gets the oil. If you think you are right, it's your health and we should all insist on getting things checked out. I was once misdiagnosed with a case of scabies, my rash was actually hives. I wanted to go back to that Dr. and tell him off.. I worked in that hospital (were I was diagnosed) I was so embarrassed not to mention all the work cleaning all of the linen and the trip to the pharmacy to buy the treatment for scabies. My misdiagnosis did not cause a life threatening event but a kidney infection could have been potentially very dangerous.

Hugs from Wheezy too!! My fingers and toes are crossed. -
The Doc was about 60 ish, and has a good personality. That's all I can say about that. I am feeling more restriction and am happy about it. Thanks for asking. I'm hoping to post a loss next week. It's been a long time since I've lost weight but I think this is the one.

Me too!! Can't wait.

Happy Birthday Mandi!!! Enjoy your ice cream cake:)

Welcome back Cloe, glad you're feeling better. I was worried about you. I'm with Devana, there's no excuse for such stupidity being misdiagnosed. Glad your family Doc was on the ball. And yes, I missed you.

So glad to hear that everything went well for you. Welcome back to Canada.

Good luck with your new fill.

Yeah liquid codeine was my friend, but very constipating so Milk of Magnesia (MOM) became another friend. I experienced bad pain for 7 days straight, hope it doesn't last as long for you.

That's terrible, slashing your tires. Sorry to hear about your troubles!

Hello out there, do you have any suggestions

The Doc in Ottawa is : Dr. Jose Gutauskas 7700 Broadview Avenue, #107 Ottawa 613 725 9180 He charges $75.00 a fill. I believe it's a 4 hour drive. Montreal would be about a 6 hour drive so Ottawa would be closer. He was taught by Dr Coburn from Mississauga, he is a General Surgeon and is quite skilled. I'm sure if your Doc from Alberta sent him your info he would do the fill. Good Luck -
I'm a little late to read this post to wish you Good Luck but that's what I was going to say. By now you are already recovering from the surgery. That part is now behind you. I wish you a prompt recovery and lots of weight loss. Hope it just melts off of you.

Ya know Yoda, I was thinking the same thing. What about pics with clothes on. What's wrong with that? Oh yeah, Mandi stop picking on Yoda. Yoda stop picking on Mandi! Where are you Cloe? I'm having to do all the work here!

Thanks Green that reminds me of a joke. It's smutty so send your children out of the room. Wheezy was having a costume party, the only stipulation was that everyone had to come dressed as an emotion. On the day of the party, the first person enters, John. John is dressed in green from head to toe. Wheezy asks so what emotion are you and John replies " I am green with envy". The second person enters, Jane. Jane is dressed in red from head to toe. Wheezy asks Jane so what emotion are you? Jane replies "I am red with anger". The third person enters, Jacques. Jacques is completely naked with a pear stuck at the end of his dick. Wheezy ask Jacques what emotions could you possibly be dressed like that. Jacques replies in his heavy French accent " I'm f...ing despair!"

Hope it's all you've ever wanted it to be. Best wishes.

Actually Mandi, I didn't know the "Exact" brand and none of those store exists where I live. I wish I would've known today when I was in Ottawa. Oh well, I'll be back there soon for business so I'll look it up then. I hope you bought a flavored M.O.M. like cherry or something like that. I bought the "original" flavor once by mistake and it tasted terrible. MOM works for me all the time and it's a good source of magnesium. Magnesium that's a really big gymnasium, isn't it? As for sleep, I used to be a really bad sleeper. Couldn't turn my mind off until I learned some relaxation techniques. Basically, I lay there and imagine that my toes are relaxed then my feet, ankles and do this until I reach my head, eyes, face. The trick is not to move to the next body part until you are convinced that that body part is completely relaxed. It takes time to do this and get good at it but it is well worth it. At first I would reach my head and if I was still awake I would start all over. I asked about the sleeping pill because some nights nothing helps. So all this to say, happy sleeping and happy the other thing. You are relaxing, you are relaxing :notagree :notagree :notagree

Good luck Krissy. I wish you well.

Mandi, what kind of sleeping pill are you buying without a prescription that works? Inquiry minds want to know!

So I am home from my 3rd fill. I now have 1.8 ccs in a 4 cc band. The Doc in Ottawa is a General Surgeon. His office is in a nice medical building and very clean. His receptionist is very nice and the Doc was very nice. He didn't hurt me when he poked around. It took one try and he got it right away. Everything was great and there was no sweat. This makes a very boring story but a very happy Wheezy!!! I feel very tight so I'm glad I talked him into 1.8 instead of 2.0 ccs. Tomorrow I'm taking soup and yogurt to work for lunch because I feel that this might be it. I may have found my sweet spot. I know, I know it's too early to tell but this one feels different. The shopping was good, bought lots of Christmas gifts. Oh yeah, it was actually sunny most of the day!! So my spirits are up and this is a new beginning. It's going to happen, I'm going to lose weight this month (I hope)

BTW, I'm not a burner, I tan and can get quite dark. I don't sit in the sun anymore though but the old sun damage is surfacing now so no more sun for me.
