  4. You commented on my scars...If you look close you can see them... I also had my gallbladder out in 07 so i actually have like 8-10 little holes and my port scar... and i have a C-section... so im all cut up!! I was tanned in that picture so it hides them a little more then when im white like now! haha

  5. hello janet :) sorry its been so long since i've been on this site. i didnt mean to ignore you! i've been having my set of issues... nothing like yours though. sorry to hear about the tragedies in your family. it seems like life is cruel that way. just when you set up a real goal in life, something takes your mind off it ... grrrrr on top of it all, my scale is not being kind. i cant seem to lose any more weight :( i'm stuck at 197. tomorrow i'm starting a protein shake diet for at least 3 days. we'll see how it goes! i'm glad youre doing well! how did the reunion go? i bet you looked great!! no, i dont live in florida anymore... used to live in palm harbor, but now i live in nixa, missouri of all places! haha where do you live?

    What can't you eat??

i've been having such a hard time losing weight. i got banded on 9/3/09 and have only lost 14 lbs :nono: what should i do??? i've tried no carbs, high protein with little success and yet that's what my nut says i need to do. the biggest issue is that i cant get 64 oz of water down no matter HOW hard i try :tongue2: its so disheartening after going through all this. i lost more weight BEFORE the surgery than after
  7. Hi! Just checking in to see how you are coming along! Hope all is going well. I have had my third fill and it was very tight, i thought i'd have to get some fluid removed, but i got better after a week. Two deaths in my family, in a week, going to the last funeral tomorrow. I started to the gym on wed am. I am sore, but going back tomorrow for more! Lol it will get better. Lost 45 lbs so far!

  8. Hi msconniemac!

How are you doing? I've had my second fill and had to have a teenie bit pulled back out! It was refluxing into my throat. I feel really tight, even after drinking a protein drink, but not nausea or anything, just full.

I have got more energy and not afraid to increase my calorie intake, I charted the calories I burn each day, and it is more than I am taking in! So I know I am burning some fat. It is showing up on the scales. I painted the outside of a building by myself today! Four hours of painting and still had energy, no headache,it's getting good for me. Hope you're feeling this too. Know what- I'm sleeping better.

My class reunion is in two weeks! I have not seen some of my classmates in 40 years! I only hope I can get in to a size 16W by then! I have to go buy a good looking pair of jeans! Oh I know there will be those size 2's there but I don't care, cause I will be looking good too! Keep up the high protein and hope to hear from you soon!

  9. Thanks for your great encouraging comments on my post. I felt so much better after reading. Are you in Florida?

  10. Good Morning msconniemac! I am happy to be a friend to you here on LapBandTalk! I hope you are progressing well!

Staying the Course, but not dropping the weight.

Janet... you've lost 28 lbs in 2 months honey!! youre doing awesome! i'm really proud of you! i weighed 229 at my heaviest when i decided to become a bandster in july of this year and went on a serious diet. Then i weighed 213 on my surgery date september 3rd. now i weigh 203... i want it faster too, but i'm sure its much better to give your skin a chance to shrink along with losing all that weight! and just think: we will NEVER see this number on our scales EVER again!! woooo hooo! keep up the great work!! ~ connie

    One Wk to go....need help!

you dont have to worry too much about post op... you wont (or i should say I WASNT) hungry at all. water, tea, crystal lite, watered down juice and jello was it for the first 4 days. after that anything you could suck up a straw was what my doctor ordered. its been two weeks since i was banded and now that the bloating has gone down, i feel like i can eat more things. i like creamed soups (especially creamy chicken) scrambled eggs (although i hear a lot of people cant tolerate eggs for some reason), cheese (well chewed or cottage cheese), yogurt or pudding once a day, and veggie soups (where the veggies are cooked really soft). just remember to listen to your body! when you feel the tightness in your chest, STOP! if you hiccup, it means you ate too fast. GOOD LUCK! banded 9/4/09 226/205/135 preop/now/goal

    What can't you eat??

 hmmm i've only been banded for 2 weeks and havent had any problem eating any cooked veggies or scrambled eggs. i hurled the first time last night when i snuck a piece of beef quesadilla. i think i'll stay away from tortillas for a while ;( the only thing that i have to say is listen to your body! when you feel the tightness, STOP EATING! (or stop before it gets to that point, but for me, it just doesnt take much to get there, so i wait to feel it!) the burps are a great release... the hiccups make me think i'm going to puke any minute.
