In 2008 my mother had lap band surgery. I noticed how well it worked for her and when my great Aunt came down from Sydney she had also had it done. They had both had amazing results and my great Aunt said that she thought the surgery would benifit me as well. I have been over weight all my life and no amount of diets or exersice seemed to help. I would loose a few kgs but I would always gain that and more back.
After researching the Lap Band and talking to my Mum and Aunt I decided to do it. I got private health insurance, which my Aunt offered to pay for, and waited the required 12 months. After the 12 months were over I booked my first appintment with Mr Paul Leong, in Adelaide, South Australia. In the end my endoscopy was booked for 2 March 2010 with my Surgery being a week later on 9 March 2010.
So far I have lost 27kg and am a lot happier than I have ever been. I have gone from a clothing size of 24 to 16 and I hope to lose more.
