:smile:WELL I went dancing over this past weekend and boy was it fun!!!!!

We celebrated with a friend her 60th Birthday Party, and had a blast. She is a breast cancer survivor and lost one of her breast already and the cancer has come back, so she is taking treatment again. Such a wonderful women and a great leader and motivator.

I am a Princess House consultant and she is our upline leader, I have known her and been in Princess House Products since 1999!!!

Well we always celebrate after every Rally and she is a Zone Leader and we danced the night away. We all dressed up in 60's attire on Sat. I was (and still am) an old hippie. It was nice to be in skinny jeans and a vest and an afro wig, and not in a Mama's and Papa's ~Mama's long dress covering up my bulges!!!!

I saw so many people from all over the deep south that I knew from my heavier days and they hugged me and told me how good I looked, and that is what I really needed to hear and gave me the motivation I needed to come back and get busy losing these last 20 or so lbs! I know it is the most difficult time of the year, but I can do it!!! Yes I can. And if you need Princess House Products and can't find a consultant, message me, I will give you an address online and e-mail to see the catalog, great Holiday specials RIGHT NOW!!!:smile2:

 She looks fabulous at 80! Sure hope I am following in those footsteps. I had the nicest comment today when I logged on from a sweet lady who told me I looked like I was in my 40"s. God Bless You!

Taking off weight makes us look younger ya'll! And it will give you back years and more years. I had four children and two miscarriages during my child bearing years and that is also rough on the body. But it is all coming back together again! Thanks to the band and a lot of dedication! I am logging my food down again, rough but I am doing it, and today was a good day too. I had sugar free ice cream about two bites and a 1"x1" slice of cake. Just a taste, and I was satisfied.

We had a lovely day at the Assisted Living Home with our Mom. So happy to still have her in my life! My dad died at age 54 and she was 52 and never remarried, so she was mother and father to me for many years now. She was born in the height of the depression and was so hungry, there were six children and her dad died when she was only three years old. She remembers stealing an egg from the neighbors hen house she was hungry! She had to take it back and apologize, my grandmother was too proud to just take it when the neighbors tried to give it to my mom who was four at the time.

When we say "We are Starving to death, we really just don't know!" Well my Mom made sure of one thing, that is that we were never hungry! And I am glad for that. I was never really an obese child, but became obese as an adult, I can blame no one but myself for that! So happy I took control of it with the aid of the LAP-BAND®! It is still hard on days of Celebrations, but it is always on my mind! God Bless you.

:rolleyes:Still happy that when I get on the scales, I have not GAINED, two lbs this week since the last fill. Whoo hoo!

I did find out when I went in for my Dr.s visit that the Dr. who performed my surgery is moving away, and now I am depressed. But I am so thankful for him and the relationship we have formed. He hugged my neck in the parking lot and boy did we get the stares from the nurses looking on. But he is truly very proud of his patients and how far we have come.

He knows it has changed our lives forever! Thanks Dr. Tim! I will always remember you! It is not what you did or how you did it, but how it made me feel that I will remember!

Best wishes to him, and I will keep up my promise to him to do the best I can to continue with the good work, for me and him.

:smile:One time I was comparing myself to the way I used to be, and I thought, I am not doing too badly.

Then God said to me, "But Who is your standard? How are you doing compared to Me?

I said, "Lord, I have a long way to go!"

Refuse to live beneath the standard that Jesus has set for you. Keep your eyes on Him and tell Him, "Many...are the wonderful works which You have done...no one can compare with You".(Psalm 40:5).

His intention was......that (we might arrive) at really mature manhood less than the standard height of Christ's own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him. Ephesians 4:12-13

I trust that all of you are having a wonderful Sunday today and finding time to be thankful for all that you have accomplished and how far you have come!

:scared2::smile2:There is plenty of time! If we have nothing else, we have time and it is on our side!

I have said this before, but after reading a little bit about TIME, I am starting to see and feel it differently.

TIME is both an enemy and a friend. At my age and I will tell you, I am 58. I see time slipping away fast, but there is so much happening in my life right now, it is good but it is on ZOOM AWAY! Tomorrow I will have grandchild number 5! A little boy named Michael Wesley, Michael after his daddy, my firstborn son. He is already over 8 lbs! So a big boy. Then next Monday, my 6th grandchild a little girl by my oldest daughter and her name is Ava Danielle, she is only 6 lbs now. Then on 10-10-10 my youngest daughter will be married. My life and the times of my life are so very blessed. I am thankful, I will look nice in the wedding photos, and my grandchildren will be proud to have me play with them and be active during my life with them. Better memories will be made because time has changed my life.

You do your best to conquer time, and yet it continually slips through your fingers. You measure your life, your successes, and your productivity in terms of minutes, hours, days and weeks. You often lost your hope in the future and in the fullfillment of your dreams as time passes.

God isn't subject to our concept of TIME. He is the Master of the Universe. When you place your trust in him, you can know with certainty that you have all the TIME to do what he has created you to to and that you have plenty of time to become just that. YOUR BRIGHTEST HOUR IS ALWAYS AHEAD, NEVER BEHIND!
    PSALMS 31:14-15 NCV
LORD I TRUST YOU. I HAVE SAID, YOU ARE MY GOD! MY LIFE IS IN YOUR HANDS.

Today is one of those days, I feel so disgusted trying to help, I try not to get involved in my married childrens lives, but then when they get in a bind, they call on me, and I am there!

I will be so glad when they grow up! Gosh! Praying hard for the patience I need.

Well on a brighter note, down 4 1/2 lbs today! Worked hard, had great energy now headed to the house, have a great night all!

:wink:This journey has been for me a behavior modification journey. Learning to listen to and do what my inner voice tells me is right. I don't always listen, and tune out the inner voice and override the warnings! Sometimes I am successful at being bad and eating the things I have loved for years, and sometimes they go down and come back up. We are in a learning curve for the first year I think, and only trial and error will prove us, not what people say or do or think we should be doing, our body responds to us. I tend to do good for awhile, then fall off the wagon again and then get back on. So what, life is like a roller coaster ride, just hang on!
  8. janetsjourneytoslim
Well after the fourth of July and some cake and goodies. (cheating) I have rolled 2 lbs up and down.

I am going to have to work hard to get them gone, cause I have a goal this month to meet to get to my bandiversary weight. I won't hit 100 lbs, but that is OK!

Life does go on around us and we are still a part of it. We will get use to how to work out lives around the band, to work with it, not against it.

    Have a blessed day all!:frown:

    :smile:One of the Paradoxical Commandments!

If you do Good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Do good anyway!

Ever been accused of being a Do-gooder?

These Commandments were written by a 19 year old Harvard Student, Kent Keith and have been all over the world! Even Sister Teresa had them hanging on her wall!!!

We must try each and every day to do what is Good and Right! Even tho there will be those that don't want or appreciate what good you do, do it anyway! You will be glad because of it and rewarded for it.

Those will come to see good in you!

Kent M. Keith, never realized when he was only 19 and writing a paper for a college how profound these Paradoxical Commandments for Christians would impact the world.

You can find his book "Jesus Did it Anyway" in bookstores everywere. I suggest you purchasing this book, it is such a great influence in my daily life, right next to the Bible!

    Have a wonderful day all!:rolleyes2:

Got to Shake it Up Baby~Twist and Shout!!!!

Going ALL PROTEIN FOR THREE OR FOUR DAYS TO GET THIS OLE BODY BACK INTO KETOSIS!

I WANT A LEAN MEAN FAT BURNING MACHINE!

With a new lapband fill and it is tight now, it is helping me a lot, but without being in Ketosis, (fat burning mode) I am craving sweets and salty foods, so it is back to the basics for me (again)!

1,000 calories per day and all protein too!
That will do it! When I get into Ketosis, I will gradually add carbs to the (meager 20 grams ~ususally the milk w/my Whey Protein Shakes) diet up to 50 per day and stay there.

I need a 20 lbs loss of weight over the next three months and I am going to get there! Exercising too at least three times per week!

Got to get Persistant and Consistant! That is the plan, here I go! Oh and I have my handy measuring tools for portion size right where I can reach them!

Beach weather is here and it is beautiful in the Panhandle of Florida! Got to wait till May to Swim though because the Jellyfish are everywhere! Ewwwwe!:tongue_smilie:

Well I have six little pounds to go to get to my goal weight for my daughters wedding! Tried to lose 10 lbs. but now I am down four.

Working on the wedding stuff is keeping me very busy and all these babies (grandbabies) coming. I am on the go a lot.

We got baby Michael Wesley last night! 8 lbs, l oz, 21 inches long, he is a little doll with a head full of hair!

Now one more is on the way our little Ava Danielle, my oldest daughter is expecting and ready to go by next weekend.

I have five weeks left before my youngest daughters wedding and two flower girl dresses left to make, NO PRESSURE!

Everything to check and re-check. Meeting with the cake lady on Thursday again. That cake is going to be good! Blueberry flavored fondant on one layer, Orange flavored on the rest, will post photos later.

Have a great day all, God Bless You.:tt2:

:mad:Why is it Rainy Days always make me HUNGRY?????

I am a very active person and I like being busy. I had my two grandsons ages 1 yr and 3 yrs for the weekend, and they were a blast.

Boy I was hungry! Now I ate on their schedule every two to three hours a little something, which was fine.

But as I was thinking about what to cook for them, what foods they liked, I got HUNGRY. It has rained here in Florida for two days on and off!

Keeping two little boys so full of energy inside, whipped me out! We read books, played with toys, threw a ball inside the house!!!??? That went well until it landed on top of the kitchen table! And just slept the rest of the day away. Watched a little TV tonight after they went home.

Gosh I must be getting old, I felt like I had been to the Gym today. I hope all had a very blessed weekend as I did. God is so good. I am thankful for my time with my grandchildren and being able to give my children some time to be together on "Dates"!

I think I know why I got too big, when my kids were little, all four of them, I must have cooked ALL the time. And my husband ate a lot back then, so did I. As we got older we slowed down some, but I still could not have gotten to where I am now without the help of the band. My husband still wears a 34 waist, and did the day we married. He is a VERY active residential contractor and he eats a lot more than me, always has. He just burns it off!

I hope the sun comes out tomorrow!

Remembering that the LapBand is our tool, it is not a diet pill that will harm us, but it is our guide to eating smaller portions.

We must change our way of thinking when it comes to the foods we choose to put in our bodies. This is not a journey to just get slim, it is also a journey to good healthy lifestyles. Eating better, and feeling better.

Health and Wellness may be yours and you can add years to your life if you just accept the fact that "To change your life, you must first accept the help from the LapBand, don't fight it, and change your mind and way of thinking about food, and you will change your body.

I do love to travel and ALASKA was the best yet!

We cruised on the Norwegian Pearl to Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan, then to Victoria BC and then to Seattle, WA for a couple of days.

Discovered I have one good day to eat and then it is followed by a bad day. The motion of the ship did not help either even tho it was ever so gentle, I think it affected my digestion with this band. I ate good, just not like the rest of my group I was with. I HAVE to have the time to eat slowly and we were always going to Bingo or to something NEXT! I did get a couple of nice peices of art at the Art Auctions and drank the free Champagne!

I was always full and satisfied, I had carried onboard my protein shakes and made sure to have one evey day. I had LOTS of energy and it is a good thing, because the Pearl is a very Big ship and we must have walked two to three miles every day! My legs were sore! It was TOO COLD on this cruise to even think about the pool or the Hot tubs even tho people were in them! I could never have let go of the towel or robe to get in! The wind had a chill in it!

The scenery and the rich history of Alaska was so interesting and the views of the Mountains, glaciers and the different way of life was so facinating. I wish the trip was longer. Now it is back to work for me! Both on the job, the gym and the diet. I did not gain any weight but then I did not lose either, it seems to be this way when I cruise. Not sure of how they prepare the foods, but tried to eat lots of fish and seafoods this time and salads! The fruit was good but no strawberries except once.

I bought some really good blueberries in Pikes Market Place in Seattle, WA I love that place, the prettiest flowers. Drank lots of coffee and I know I shouldn't (black tho no additives) and there is a Starbucks on every corner. LOL Had a donut at Top Pot Yummy and found the Five Points Cafe in Seattle to be the best little restaurant and bar open 24/7 since 1929! Check it out if you ever go to Seattle. Went up in the Space Needle! Walked a LOT in Seattle! Took the Double Decker a couple of times and the Monorail once. Had a wonderful break. Missed you all and my Facebook friends too. Glad to be home.

:thumbup:It is imperative to keep YOURSELF motivated!

Ever talk to yourself? We do it all the time~we just don't admit it! Well for me it is the only way to avoid temptation and when I don't listen to myself, I listen to others OR TO THE FOOD ADDICTION I have lived with all my life! The food we want talks to our brains, our friends (that never gain weight no matter what they eat) tell us a little of this or that won't hurt.

"If we want to change our bodies, we must first change our minds!"
:tt1: Hummm! There is NO other Way! So go ahead TALK TO YOURSELF~TELL YOURSELF NO NO NO! to the cravings you have for the OLD foods that made you FAT and UNHAPPY! Tell yourself YES YES YES to happiness, energy, new life, new clothes, new agility!

The reward is amazing so go ahead, tell everyone that I told you it was OK to talk to yourself! Listen to those inner voices, and talk back to them! Have a Happy and Blessed Easter everyone! He is Risen and He is in control!

I have two close friends who both had the Bypass surgery around 6-7 years ago. This was the same time I WAS considering it too.

They lost very quickly and stayed down for around two to three years. Both of them had vitamin defeciencies and health problems. I KNEW I did not want that! I watched one of them very closely, she and I are like sisters although we live about 130 miles apart.

She and I now wear the same size clothes! She is afraid that I will out lose her now cause she is gaining! Why? I did hear from someone or read it somewhere, that they will gain around 15 or so lbs back?!

She still looks awesome I might add! I still have around 20 something lbs I want to lose and hope to do it within this coming year. Started writing my foods down again daily. And I am getting started back with my exercise routine too so I am working hard for that last 20! Then I can get my Tummy Tuck and Boob Job!!!! Not too bad right now, so my hubby is balking on those extra surgerys but I will win this battle!!LOL This is for ME!!!!!!

Of course I will accept the Lord's Guidance in all these matters and we will see.

"The Lord says, "I will make you wise and show you where to go. I will guide you and watch over you." Psalm 32:8 NCV

God, I look to you for direction and counsel as I make important decisions in my life. Give me a listening ear to hear your voice and a heart that is quick to obey.
    Amen.

Hope you all are staying the course, keeping a journal and encouraging others along the way. :bored:

    :smile:GOOD MORNING! OR IS IT????
ARE YOU STARTING YOUR DAY RIGHT EVERY DAY??????

THAT IS THE KEY TO CONTINUED SUCCESS WITH THE LAP-BAND®, WE HAVE TO GET OFF TO A GOOD START EACH AND EVERY MORNING. THEN THE BALANCE OF THE DAY WILL FOLLOW AND AT THE END OF THE DAY WE ARE SUCCESSFUL.

    BE RENEWED:

GOD SELECTED...WHAT THE WORLD CALLS WEAK TO PUT THE STRONG TO SHAME. AND GOD ALSO SELECTED (DELIBERATELY CHOSE) WHAT IN THE WORLD IS LOWBORN ANDINSIGNIFICANT AND BRANDED AND TREATED WITH CONTEMPT, EVEN THE THINGS THAT ARE NOTHING, THAT HE MIGHT DEPOSE AND BRING TO NOTHING THE THINGS THAT ARE, SO THAT NO MORTAL MAN SHOULD(HAVE PRETENSE FOR GLORYING AND ) BOAST IN THE PRESENSE OF GOD.
    1 CORINTHIANS 1:27-29

IF YOU ARE WEAK IN FAITH, IN MIND, IN BODY, IN DICIPLINE, IN SELF-CONTROL, OR IN DETERMINATION, SIMPLY WAIT ON GOD. HE WILL BE STRONG IN YOUR WEAKNESS.
ISAH 40:31 TEACHES THAT IF YOU EXPECT GOD, LOOK FOR HIM, AND HOPE IN HIM, YOU WILL CHANGE AND RENEW YOUR STRENGTH AND POWER; YOU WILL RUN, AND NOT FAINT OR BECOME TIRED. THE BIBLE DOESN'T SAY "HOPE SO, IT COULD BE, OR IT MAY BE"; IT DECLARES THAT YOUR WILL
    BE RENEWED!!!

(PARTS TAKEN FROM A BOOK THAT INSPIRES ME BY JOYCE MEYER)

I PRAY THAT WE ALL BE RENEWED AS WE STRENGTHEN OUR BODIES BY LOSING THIS ADDED WEIGHT. I THANK GOD FOR REVEALING TO ME THE LAP-BAND® AND TAKING ME THROUGH THE SURGERY AND NOW I MUST DO MY PART TO FULFILL THIS JOURNEY AS WE ALL DO. GET THOSE JOURNALS OUT FOLKS, WRITE IT DOWN, DON'T EAT IT IF YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO, AND GET THE WILLPOWER YOU NEED FROM ONE THAT IS STRONGER THAN WE ARE.

    HAVE A BLESSED DAY!

Depressed or what? Don't know but I could not move off the couch today, just did not want to do anything.

I had so much energy the first six months of the journey and now I feel tired, well I did just get back from a 12 day Vacation, (No Rest then) Guess I need a vacation to get over my vacation.

Nothing really on TV either, can't believe that I watched Top Model!!??

I wanted to eat more today too, just sitting around, should have gotten my butt up and gone to the Gym, well there is always tomorrow!

My next appt is Friday and I dread it, because of the cruise, I have not lost any weight this month, and dread the visit! I need my Mojo Back! And the Dr. and Staff always do that for me, cause they are my friends now and really care about me, I know this to be true~sooo I will suck it up and get to the Dr.

I think I get too hung up on Goal Setting and feeling like a failure when I don't meet the goals! Got to get past this! I also have a few friends who are a little upset and maybe even a bit jealous I am getting smaller than them, they can say things that really hurt! I want to take off 30 lbs this next year and I believe I will too, got to work at it and I will.

Thanks for hearing me vent! Later!:smile2:

I found out that I have an 11cc band, I get my third fill this coming Wednesday. I do seem to get a little hungrier the week before the fill. Don't know why that is.

I have had so many challenges this past two weeks, Class Reunion, Baby Showers, Celebration Dinners, Anniversarys, Fairs and Festivals Galore to mention a few. I have slipped a little here and there, but have always gained control and not thrown in the towel. I am striving for success, not perfection! I know that I am not perfect, no one is, but my goal now is to stay aware of what I am eating and get better at writing it all down. Drinking 80 ounces of water is a challenge for me, and the cooler it gets, I want coffee, not cold water, anyone else know how to get this water in?
  23. janetsjourneytoslim
No one wants to be a looser! Well I like it! I never thought that loosing would make me a winner! LapBand AP has made me a looser and I am happy about it.

I have started to visualize myself at 80 lbs thinner, now that I am 40 lbs or so down from my old weight! Next year at this time I will be a totally different woman!

Take a photo of yourself, use a black marker, and trim yourself down! This will give you inspiration to get with the program, stay with the program, and get thin.

Take it with you always, when you are tempted, take it out, look at it and walk away from those foods that will stop you from reaching your goals!

I have been asked to start a support group at the local hospital where I had my surgery! I am very excited about being able to help others in their journey to slim with me.

    Have a great day Bandsters!:wink::smile2:
