The Choices that I make today affect my WORLD tomorrow!

This is a creed all LapBand patients should carry with them everywhere.

2010 will be the year of changing our lives~~~IF we make the right choices!

    Good Luck and God Bless!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!

I have met all the goals I have set for myself since getting the Lap Band. I have an upcoming goal for Christmas that I will be in onderland. Now I have six lbs to lose in 9 days! And~~~I have all these Christmas Parties to attend, temptations, and shopping trips ahead. Can I do It? I don't know, but I am going to push ahead and try really hard!

I don't want to get the blues about it, and have my Christmas ruined because I don't make the goal, and I am sure I will be close to it anyway! The Good News is I have lost 55 lbs forever in five months so I will have to bask in that glory for a glorious Christmas if I don't make it to my goal, maybe by New Years!!!!! I still want a sexy red dress for Christmas! My husband will get a Garmin and ME!!!! LOL Merry Christmas ALL!

:rolleyes2:Last post, it was 68 degrees here in Sunny Panhandle of Florida!!! Tonight it is expected to be in the low 20's!

What is wrong with this crazy weather? Lord I am ready for Spring and Summer. Although I regret that I can not wear some of the clothes that I just bought past this winter, because next winter I WILL BE much smaller too!

Lost another lb this week so far and the week is only half over, so far so good. But I am loosing my insulation! MY FAT! Anyone else FREEZING?????}}}}}}}}Burrr!

Does this mean that this Summer I will be MUCH Cooler? Yeah to that cause it gets HOT here! I can not wait to get into shorts and summer clothing!

Have a great day all! It is great now because of the LapBand AP!:cursing:

:drool:Ok so the day I had to appear in court in a case I was ready to have tried, waited over a year for, was finally here! This was a Real Estate Development Case and I was to recieve a settlement that has long been overdue, so I was ready. Traveled to the town, spent the night, and I was right on time.

Now the last time I had seen the opposing Attorney was on July 28th, 2009, the day before my LapBand Surgery. Since then, 91 lbs are gone, my hair in no longer the same color and not curly anymore and I have contacts instead of glasses. I have progressed with these changes and have gotten use to myself over time. I kinda like it!

We all were there and everyone was just sorta chatting and saying their niceties to one another. The opposing Attorney told the Judge that we were missing one person and we were waiting on her. I did not know who it was or could be. In a few minutes, the Attorney came over and asked my Attorney where I was, I saw him point to me a couple of times. And I did not know what I had done. I was sorta on the spot. Then they were laughing a little with these strange looks on their faces. THEY had not known I WAS ME!!!! They were waiting on ME to get there! Now that was worth EVERYTHING I have gone through for the past year. Even some of the opposition group did not recognize me!!! I just LOVED it! So funny~~~CHANGE IS GOOD Ya'll! It is good!!!

:confused:Don't know why but I have been wanting to eat corn chips lately. I know I should not, but they just make me want them so bad, and they go down so easy!

Well one time I was Crazy for peanuts, just had to have them, and they went down fine.
Now I eat raw Almonds, although they are rough on the teeth!

This is a crazy time for me, I have been adorning a wedding gown today for my daughter, just glued on Hundreds of Swarovski stones to the dress, it is absoultly georgous! She is going to be so beautiful, I have to try not to cry, but it is going to be a sad day as well due to the fact that my best friend her future Mother-in-law Rita passed away back this March with a massive heart attack and then two weeks later her future Father-in-law killed himself over it. Now my Son-in-law has no parents and this wedding is the only HAPPY event for him this year. He is such a good man, and we have known his family all our lives. Rita was 56 and Fred her husband 57. So very tragic. This is all she wanted was this wedding and grandchildren. She will be with us in spirit and every time I hold my grandchildren, I will hug them for her and Fred!

Pray that God will bless this union and make a happy day for our children, life is a circle that keeps going round and round, and how did I get here from these crazy corn chips?

    Nite all.

:confused:THINGS DON'T JUST HAPPEN!!! I know this for sure! Another beautiful Sunday Morning, I am alive and happy. I still have my Mom with me and although she can not remember yesterday, she still knows me today! (Alzheimers)

My beautiful Daughter is getting married soon and so we are showering her today at 1PM. It is going to be nice. Hope I don't cry! My last one out of the nest! It is hard. But I have a lot to be thankful for! Every day is a gift from God~and all things are good in it! We must position ourselves to be mindful of ALL the many blessings we have.

Some things we call "Accidents", "surprises" or "discoveries" are actually revelations of God's Love and constant concern for you. If you keep your faith and trust in God, the meaning of these things will become clear. If you greet each day and expect it to reveal the glory, power, and love of God, your hours will be filled with joy and awe. His mystery will turn him toward YOU!

I need him each and every day~to guide me and show me the right way, I may NOT always take his direction, then I veer off the right path, but always get back on it! Thank you God!

This life of mine is filled with many more things now than just living to eat, I eat to live and enjoy and focus on others and other interest as well. I love my band and seeing myself in photos with my children and family now! I don't ever want to be vain, but I do not feel bad looking good and feeling good about myself.

Be proud of how far you have come on this journey! Make the best of what is happening in your life and the things God is bringing your way. You are all intelligent, beautiful people, made in his image! Enjoy each day in your life and the things that happen in it! Embrace them, good or bad!

:smile:WELL I went dancing over this past weekend and boy was it fun!!!!!

We celebrated with a friend her 60th Birthday Party, and had a blast. She is a breast cancer survivor and lost one of her breast already and the cancer has come back, so she is taking treatment again. Such a wonderful women and a great leader and motivator.

I am a Princess House consultant and she is our upline leader, I have known her and been in Princess House Products since 1999!!!

Well we always celebrate after every Rally and she is a Zone Leader and we danced the night away. We all dressed up in 60's attire on Sat. I was (and still am) an old hippie. It was nice to be in skinny jeans and a vest and an afro wig, and not in a Mama's and Papa's ~Mama's long dress covering up my bulges!!!!

I saw so many people from all over the deep south that I knew from my heavier days and they hugged me and told me how good I looked, and that is what I really needed to hear and gave me the motivation I needed to come back and get busy losing these last 20 or so lbs! I know it is the most difficult time of the year, but I can do it!!! Yes I can. And if you need Princess House Products and can't find a consultant, message me, I will give you an address online and e-mail to see the catalog, great Holiday specials RIGHT NOW!!!:smile2:

:mad3:2 lbs down this morning! I just thought I had hit the end of my weight loss at six months.

I was so depressed, I even ate two small brownies after a church dinner the other night!

Maybe I was so worried, I was cutting back and not consuming enough calories, whatever it is I am thankful!

Also ready to get in the swing of things, with more exercise and good eating. Looking forward to spring, the next 6 months of my journey and a tummy tuck this July!

Hope all has a great day of being a loser with the LapBand AP!:bored:

    :smile:One of the Paradoxical Commandments!

If you do Good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Do good anyway!

Ever been accused of being a Do-gooder?

These Commandments were written by a 19 year old Harvard Student, Kent Keith and have been all over the world! Even Sister Teresa had them hanging on her wall!!!

We must try each and every day to do what is Good and Right! Even tho there will be those that don't want or appreciate what good you do, do it anyway! You will be glad because of it and rewarded for it.

Those will come to see good in you!

Kent M. Keith, never realized when he was only 19 and writing a paper for a college how profound these Paradoxical Commandments for Christians would impact the world.

You can find his book "Jesus Did it Anyway" in bookstores everywere. I suggest you purchasing this book, it is such a great influence in my daily life, right next to the Bible!

    Have a wonderful day all!:rolleyes2:

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
    Do good anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Almost every day, I hear a friend, a college, or a news reporter casting suspicion on the motives of someone who is doing good. They imply that others who seem to be doing good are only pretending to do good when in fact they have their own selfish ulterior motives.

We may be accused of being selfish and have motives that are ulterior to ourselves for gratification by others who are not happy that we are doing good.

Today I attended a funeral and was met by so many with praise for how I have lost my weight and kept it off. That felt good. But I really wonder where they were when I was heavy and still doing good for others? Oh well it does not matter, for we must do our best to help others and just accept that we can not change some things in life. The one thing we have done is change the way we feel, and look and how we now have more life to give to ourselves and those around us that we love.

    Oh God, Whom I praise,
    do not remain silent,
    for wicked and deceitful men,
    have opened their mouths against me;
they have spoken against me with lying tounges.
    With words of hatred they surround me;
    they attack me without cause.
In return for my friendship they accuse me,
but I am a woman of prayer.
They repay me evil for good,
    and hatred for my friendship.

    Psalm 109

Do not let those tear you down for what you have done and accomplished, continue to do good and show them that you were led for this journey. Keep the Faith!

:tt1:Don't let your food get boring as I have done over the past eight months or so. Go to www.400caloriesorless.com and you will find wonderful recipes for high protein and low fat, also on www.lapband.com you will find great recipes to start with and continue with. I have submitted a couple of my own recipes and they have been accepted and published! Crab Tomato Soup and Asparagus Crab Delight try them. I have one good eating day and then a bad day, don't know why but I do!
  12. janetsjourneytoslim
May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His Glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the Holy Spirit indwelling your innermost being and personality. EPHESIANS 3:16

The day begins and we are dissappointed or get upset and then we may act ugly, throw fits, and ruin our witness of what God has done in our lives.

People will be jealous of you and how you have lost weight and they will envy your efforts and covet what you have. Do not act ugly or Get Upset. Pray for those people and be happy about your accomplishments anyway!

Good health brings about true happiness and for a longer lifetime! Losing weight has always made me feel better about myself as a person but never made me feel any better than any other person.

We are all created equal in Gods eyes! Be satisfied that you made the right choice for YOU! You can not decide for others what is right for them, the LapBand is for me, but NOT for everyone! Many people constantly seek the thrill of new experience, but everything new eventually becomes an old thing. Sooner or later, people have to be happy with old things too, or they will never reach God's higher goal of contentment.

We must learn to be content with such things as we have to the point where we are not disturbed or disquieted, no matter what state of mind we are in. We should remain humble and enjoy plenty. The secret to facing every situation, whether well-fed or hungry, was to be content.:smile2:

 I use to love that little tune! And you know it really sticks in your head! And it should. When we are happy, things in our life just go better.

Worry and fear are the bane of human existance. Any number of events or circumstances can trigger them to cripple or incapacitate you.

Worry and fear strike when you feel far from God. They rise up and crash over you when you are not paying attention to what is really important in life. Your relationship to God is so important, more than anything else. When you have that "Right" relationship, you will not worry or fear, but turn everything over to God.

That is what we need to stay focused on and being happy, when we are happy we tend to stick to our diet plan, lose weight and keep to our goals too. Praying makes me happy and the more I pray, the less I worry and the more I can focus. You can cope with whatever comes along in your life every day, have his presence with you and your worries and fears will dissolve.

Stop Worrying and fearing what will happen today or tommorrow. Just pray, stay focused and all the other good things will happen to you! You will become a recipient of his bountiful grace and goodness.

    I am reminded of this verse;

I cry out to God Most High, to the God who does everything for me. He sends help from Heaven and saves me. He punishes those who chase me. God gives me his love and truth. Psalm 57:2-3NCV:wink2:

:thumbup:I feel so blessed that I heard about the band and went forward with the surgery. Down 74.2 lbs with only 26 lbs to go to get to my goal weight and not quite 7 mos into the program.

I have lost over 62% of my excess body weight!

And I have managed to keep fairly toned by going to the Gym and Walking!

The Hospital Administrator called me for permission to share my photos and story in a Medical Journal that they publish in and I told her YES! I just hope that my story will inspire and help others who are struggling with weight issues in their lives!

God Bless you as you continue on this journey is my prayer!

:confused:I'M SO HAPPY TODAY! GETTING TO MY GOALS FAST AND EASY. THE HIGH PROTEIN, MIN 60 G PER DAY AND LOW CARB DIET WORKS THE BEST WITH THE LAP BAND! EVEN A SMALL STATE OF KETOSIS WILL BURN UP THE FAT IN YOUR BODY!
IT IS ONLY ONE WEEK TILL MY CLASS REUNION AND I AM REACHING MY GOAL! STAY THE COURSE AND RELY ON YOURSELF
TO CONTROL WHAT YOU EAT! PREPARE THOSE MEAL PLANS IN ADVANCE, THAT IS WHAT I HAVE LEARNED AND IS VERY HELPFUL! HAVE A GREAT DAY!
  16. janetsjourneytoslim
:smile:A Good Life is a choice!!!! There are guidelines for a good life!!!! There is a world full of peace and joy for all of us. Blessings will chase you and find you wherever you are!!!

If you are a Christian and believe that is true, you believe what the Bible tells us and that there is a God Above watching over us! I DO!

The Bible contains guidelines for that good life! God has PREARRANGED and made ready a good life for you!

    Psalm 4:7-8
You have put more joy and rejoicing in my heart than(they know) when their wheat and new wine have yielded abundantly. In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, Lord, alone make me dwell in safety and confident trust.
  17. janetsjourneytoslim
:rolleyes2:Enjoy your life to the fullest! Whatever may be your task, work at it heartly (from the soul), as something done for the Lord and not for men, knowing with all certainty that it is from the Lord and not from man that you will receive the inheritance which is your real reward. Colossians 3:23-24

Reading the scripture is the only way to stay on track with life and truly enjoy life, when we stray from it, we so alienate ourselves and start to feel helpless, that is because we are.

Pray for the strength to stay on track and enjoy your life.

Jesus died so that you can enjoy abundant life, not just the days you are off work or on vacation, or when you get to go shopping or golfing~~~but every day of your life.

He wants you to enjoy going to the grocery store. He wants you to enjoy driving the kids to school. He wants you to enjoy paying the bills, cleaning the house or mowing the yard.

You can enjoy life if you DETERMINE TO DO SO! Say, "I am going to enjoy every aspect of my life, because Jesus died so that I could have joy unspeakable and full of glory!"

Never let anything rob you of your JOY, EnJOY Your LIFE! Embrace the wonderful changes taking place in your body and in your soul! I have and what a true transformation is taking place. God Bless you all Today is my prayer.

    :ohmy:EXERCISE!

OH HOW I HATED TO EXERCISE, AND EVEN NOW I HAVE TO PUSH MYSELF BEYOND MY COMFORT ZONES!

BUT~~~~~EXERCISE IS THE ALL IMPORTANT FACTOR IN TAKING OFF THE ADDED WEIGHT OF THE YEARS!

FOR WOMEN, HAVING BABIES PUTS ON WEIGHT FOR SOME AND THEY NEVER CAN PUSH ENOUGH TO GET IT OFF(FOR ME~AND FOR SOME THEY ARE A SIZE 2 RIGHT AFTER) YOU ARE BUSY WITH THE BABY AND JUST ABOUT FORGET YOURSELF.

FOR OLDER WOMEN, THE AGE AND SLOWING DOWN DUE TO AGING HAPPENS, AND IT DOES NOT SEEM WORTH THE EFFORT JUST TO LOOK GOOD!

:tongue_smilie:BUT IT IS NOT JUST ABOUT LOOKING GOOD! IT IS ABOUT FEELING GOOD. AND LIVING LONGER HEALTHIER LIVES.

:w00t:TWO MONTHS AFTER BEING BANDED, I JOINED A GYM, WENT OUT ON A LIMB AND PAID FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR(GOT A NICE DISCOUNT TOO) I KNEW I WOULD GO IF I PAID AND NOT LOSE THE MONEY!!LOL

:w00t:I WAS SO UNSURE OF MYSELF, DID NOT KNOW A THING ABOUT ANY OF THE MACHINES EXCEPT THE TREADMILL AND THE BICYCLES! BUT THE GYM OWNER WAS A PERSONAL TRAINER AND HE SET ME UP WITH A CARD AND A ROUTINE! SO FEELING LIKE AN IDIOT, I GOT INTO SOME GYM SWEATS AND GOT STARTED. THAT WAS 4 1/2 MOS AGO.

:wub:TODAY I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER! I DO NOT BREAK OUT IN A SWEAT EACH TIME I GO TO THE GYM, I DO ABOUT 45 MIN TOTAL TIME ABOUT THREE TIMES A WEEK. I GET IN 10 OR 15 MIN ON THE TREADMILL TO WARM UP AND THEN HIT THE WEIGHT RESISTANCE MACHINES. I AM WORKING HARD ON THE ABDOMEN RIGHT NOW, THE UPPER ARMS(SO THEY WON'T BE TOO FLABBY FROM THE WEIGHT LOSS, AND THE INNER AND OUTER THIGHS TOO) I STARTED WITH 15 LBS OF WEIGHTS AND I AM UP TO 60 & 75 LBS ON MOST ALL THE MACHINES NOW. BUILDING MUSCLE, IT DOES WEIGH MORE THAN FAT AND LAST MONTH I GAINED INCHES FROM THE ADDED MUSCLE BUT LOST A FEW LBS TOO. THIS MONTH I AM DOING THE SAME THING. SO I AM NOT DROPPING THE WEIGHT AS FAST AS I DID TO START WITH! SO WHAT, THE INCHES I HAVE LOST ALREADY AND THE LBS ARE SUFFICIENT FOR NOW, AND AS I BUILD MUSCLE, IT WILL IN TURN SPEED UP MY METABOLISM TO HELP MY BODY ATTACK AND BURN FAT!

:smile2:MAY I JUST SAY "I LOVE MY GYM" THE FOLKS THERE ARE SO HELPFUL, YET THEY LEAVE YOU ALONE TO YOUR WORK. I MET AN OLD HIGH SCHOOL FRIEND WHO HELPS ME NOW, HE WAS IN "MR. WORLD" CHAMPIONSHIPS AND PLAYED FOOTBALL IN SCHOOL, STILL LOOKS GREAT AT 57, STILL IN SHAPE AND STILL LIFTING WEIGHTS. AGING IS SLOWED DOWN BY THOSE WHO EXERCISE ON A REGULAR BASIS~IT IS PROVEN IT HELPS ARTHRITIS, ETC. GOOD AND HEART HEALTHY, START SOME TODAY.

EVEN IF YOU CAN'T OR WON'T BE JOINING A GYM, START WALKING THREE TIMES A WEEK FOR 30 TO 45 MIN. AT THE TIME, DOING SOME FLOOR EXERCISES, (THE KIND WE USED TO DO IN THE SCHOOL GYM WHEN WE WERE YOUNG) JUMP ROPE, JOG, WHATEVER YOU CAN DO TO GET MOVING, YOU WILL WATCH A CHANGE TAKING PLACE IN HOW YOU FEEL AND LOOK AND HOW THE SCALES LOOK BACK AT YOU!

I PROMISE! DON'T LEAVE THIS ALL IMPORTANT FACTOR IN WEIGHT LOSS OUT OF YOUR LIFE, GET THE MOST FROM YOUR LAP-BAND® SURGERY!:thumbup::tt1::tt1:
  19. janetsjourneytoslim
:scared2:Today is the day I see the Dr. for a Fill OR NOT! I dread this day, cause I have not been eating right, cause stuff will not go down, so I need a slight unfill so I don't eat sliders to feel full. (Sliders=Stuff I should not have full of calories, that slide through easy)

So Here I go to face the fiddler and to help myself to eat fish, chicken and salads again!

I will not be as depressed either!

On a good note:smile:My oldest grandson will graduate from Kindergarten this morning and I feel so blessed for having this year almost behind me! Life gets better every year.

This year two more grandchildren will be added to our family and my daughter gets married in October! So we will be growing our little family! God is a Good God!:smile2:

Everyone persues happiness, but FEW can define it!

Is happiness the bright red apple dangling from the highest branch of the tree or the immense treasure buried somewhere underground? Is happiness the perfect person with whom to spend your life with?

Many times you lose hope of finding happiness simply because you may be looking for it in the wrong places.

True happiness has less to do with outward circumstances that with inward, and more to do with the inward harmony than with outward. True happiness is being anchored to your Creator, who knows you better that you know yourself. True happiness isn't dependant on another person. It isn't dangling out of your reach or hiding deep underground. True happiness can be found in the ordinary activities of your life. You need only look inward and upward.

Happy are those who respect the Lord and obey him. You will enjoy what you work for, and you will be blessed with good things.
    Psalm 128:1-2 NCV

God, as I lay my search at your feet, restore my hope of finding true and lasting happiness.

    Amen

Hope your Saturday is a Happy One, I am deep cleaning my house and trying to deep clean my inner self at the same time. So much revelation!

Heading on a cruise to Mexico, Cozumel to be exact, going with 7 other couples for a Thanksgiving Cruise.

I am very excited about the cruise, but very nervous too as I know I will be put to the test with ALL that food on the ship.

I have determined to eat only lean, high protein and good carbs. If I do slip, I'll hit the Gym and the exercise class!

Anyone else have this happen? I am only 15 weeks post band, down 51 lbs so far and want to hit Onderland by Christmas. So I really have to prepare to say NO to MYSELF!:cool2:
  22. janetsjourneytoslim
:frown:Just thinking I wish I could eat a Hot Dog! Blah, Blah is my body adjusting faster than My Brain? I use to think that my brain moved faster than I could talk, and that I could think of things and ways to amuse my mind to keep the hands away from food.

Is it Just Memorial Day Blahs? I use to love to fix a big potato salad and ribs and hot dogs and hamburgers, I just kinda feel like I am missing out and just feeling a little low and left out right about now.

Not with the way I look and how I like getting into clothes sizes I could not wear for the past 10 or so years, I just sit around (when I am not working and think too much, it is hard to stop thinking about foods that I want to eat and can't) and want to eat, so I have to modify this behavior I KNOW! Anyway I think it has to do with lots of depressing things going on in my life right now, recent deaths, financial concerns, etc. I will get over it, and I will move on, and life will get better I KNOW: just needed to vent to those of you who KNOW where I am at at this stage, rolling 4 or 5 lbs around is so depressing, up and then down and then back up again, very challenging for the last 20 lbs on any diet program and even with the band too.
  23. janetsjourneytoslim
:smile:My dress will be here today or tomorrow hopefully!!!

I can't wait to try it on, it is beautiful! I hope that now with the weight loss it will be a wedding I will feel good about how I look! When my son got married I was in too few photos, and that is sad. But I dodged the camera, needless to say that was not fair to my son for his memories later on when I am no longer around. (which will be a long time!!!)

If it fits, I will take photos and post! Hope you all have a blessed day!

:confused:Just have to log on before bed each night and one time in the morning, to check out this website! I must say I am addicted to it!

I just love you all and am so encouraged to hear from you, get those little words of encouragement, that make me feel on top of the world!!! THANKS!

I have a friend who did not have the LAP-BAND® AP, she has lost the same amount of lbs as I have and has also joined the Gym, she had three children, I had four. I (as a Real Estate Broker) sold her the house she lives in, yet she is younger than me and does not have the skin issues I have to deal with, I am so proud for her, but my problem was not hers.

I could always follow a diet, and keep the weight I would lose off for a good while, and then here it came creeping back on again! So~~~I got the band, and well I do not regret it, never will. When I commit to something, I am right there in support of the cause 100%

Everyone is different~isn't that nice? That diversity is what makes this world and this site so interesting to me. This site and this Band has brought every culture, race and gender together as one in the cause to beat obesity for good! Praise God for the Band. Have a nice night all!:sneaky::sleep:

Got to Shake it Up Baby~Twist and Shout!!!!

Going ALL PROTEIN FOR THREE OR FOUR DAYS TO GET THIS OLE BODY BACK INTO KETOSIS!

I WANT A LEAN MEAN FAT BURNING MACHINE!

With a new lapband fill and it is tight now, it is helping me a lot, but without being in Ketosis, (fat burning mode) I am craving sweets and salty foods, so it is back to the basics for me (again)!

1,000 calories per day and all protein too!
That will do it! When I get into Ketosis, I will gradually add carbs to the (meager 20 grams ~ususally the milk w/my Whey Protein Shakes) diet up to 50 per day and stay there.

I need a 20 lbs loss of weight over the next three months and I am going to get there! Exercising too at least three times per week!

Got to get Persistant and Consistant! That is the plan, here I go! Oh and I have my handy measuring tools for portion size right where I can reach them!

Beach weather is here and it is beautiful in the Panhandle of Florida! Got to wait till May to Swim though because the Jellyfish are everywhere! Ewwwwe!:tongue_smilie:
