  1. Hi Vannessa,

Thanks for all your kind words, I am so happy to have you as a friend here on LB. We will stay the course and be victors in the end. I can't wait to see the pics of us all when we reach our goals! Keep in touch and good luck on your journey to be slim!

  2. Hi everyone, Well I have lost 31 lbs on Sept 29, 2009 two months after my surgery. Iwent to a Birthday Luncheon and did not have any of the Italian Creme Cake! So proud of myself! It was fun, and I had soup with Ice Water and Lemon!

Everyone said they could tell I had lost weight, made me feel good. The Birthday Girl had the Gastric Bypass surgery five years ago, she is still happy with her decision and has not gained her weight back. She lost her only son in a car accident about three years ago, and that could have given her every reason to quit trying, she is so strong! After seeing her, I knew that I would make it, and not give up for anything. I want to be strong like her! Keep in touch and good luck on your journey to slim.

High Protein Diet is WORKING!!! Dropped 3.5 lbs in a week!

I decided to follow the Lindora Lean for Life program. Very High Protein to get you into Ketosis in the first three Days, then introduce some good carbs day four on. It worked! I am only in a Moderate state of Ketosis and I have Lost 3.5 lbs this week or In 5 days actually. I go in for my second fill tomorrow and I have calmed down about it, thanks to all of those who sent a post. I know it will help restrict my intake of foods that I don't need to be eating and stop my cravings more too, also I want to get going with an excercise program. There is a Gym I have checked out that is $35 per month, and a personal trainer to assist you in setting up your Program! Gonna Give it a Whirl!:cursing::biggrin::thumbup::biggrin::thumbup::biggrin:Have a Blessed Day All!
  4. Thanks so much for your comments. I am wanting that weight loss and I have made up my mind to join a Gym. I want to tone and keep my skin from wrinkling so much. I am older and that is one of my concerns. But I had rather be a little wrinkled than FAT all of my life! LOL I am going on a cruise on Thanksgiving Day and I will give them a copy of my Daily Eating Plan so I can stay on track. I have taken this seriously as I self paid and I need it to prevent a lot of health issues. Thank you again so much.

    Should I or shouldn't I?

You guys, I would have had this surgery years ago, but my husband, who has always had a 34 inch waist thought that he could help me and I could loose it, and I did over and over again. This time I paid for it myself, set up everything and then told him, oh he knew I was going through with it, he went to the pre-seminar and I was committed. He could not understand because his metabolism is so good and mine has never been, when you excersise a lot you build muscle and that helps with your metabolism to burn fat and not store it. I too believe that some of us have more hunger hormones released to the stomach and the brain. I am 57 and wish I had the guts to have gone ahead with my plans 10 years ago! But you know what? I am here now, 31 lbs lighter, and tomorrow will be 2 months! I am going to show all those doubting folks what I can do. Just wait and see, that is the attitude to take, attitude is altitude, how high do you want to go? I am going to the top!!!

Not losing weight - need advice

Hi, I just banded on 7/29/09, and I have found the Lindora Lean for Life thread on LapBand.com. They have a great plan and I am following it. The first 20 weeks is Free with the LapBand surgery! So try it! They get you on track, you log everything everyday, and help you with motivation. I lost 3.5 lbs in 3 days! Try It!:tongue2:
  7. Hi Vanessa, You and I had our surgery on the same day! I would love to chat with you!

  8. Hi Nana09, I would like to be your friend here on LapBandTalk! Befriend me. I had my surgery on July 29th, 2009 and left the hospital on July 30th, 2009 to start my journey. I have lost 31 lbs too!!!!! I hope it is 32 in the morning! I have been on the three day protien diet and have taken off 3.5 lbs in three days. Tomorrow I start eating a few more carbs! I think you look great! We should help each other. I thought I was not doing so good, as I have heard about others loosing more weight faster, but I feel like I am right on track, I was in a size 24-26 and now in an 18W. Feels Great! You are looking good, what size are you in now?

  9. Doe's anyone know how to post a photo instead of this question mark? I am learning this site.

  10. Hi, I hope all is well with everyone today. I did not have a very active day today. I have good intentions to walk, but then the day got upset with elderly mother and elderly father-in-law, stress, OMG, and the day was a bust. Just about the time I had a little daylight to walk, I took off my heels, got out my tennis shoes and here comes one of my customers just killing time, yes my time to go walk. So I left work barefoot feeling defeated and drove home that way. I got home fixed dinner for my husband and myself, then weighed. I usually don't weigh till morning after checking my ketosis. I was down a whole pound on a night weight!!!! A great end to a not so great day. I think I will committ to join the Gym, I know if I do I will go because I will be paying for it! LOL I have a luncheon tomorrow and one on Wed. for my Class Reunion Planning. I plan to eat before I go and munch on a salad with low fat dressing and water afterwards! I am looking forward to the reunion!

I need support... someone please help!

Hi, I too felt this way only 8 weeks ago, I was out of my element being at home and not working, not being able to move around quickly and clean house, what could I do? I felt a little helpless and a little self-pity and began to doubt my decision and that I could do this!!! My husband really did not want me to have the Band, he always thought I could do it myself, and I tried over and over again to get thin, to no avail. He has always weighed the same since we married, and eats Ice Cream at night!!! I found that I could go out to eat, just made lean choices, or I eat my select foods prior to going out now and just have a glass of Water and a salad or cottage cheese. All my friends have been great support and encourage me. They all tell me that they can see me getting thinner. It is hard to believe in the beginning. Let me tell you, I looked at Recipe books when I came home!! My husband asked me if I was crazy. I was actually finding foods that I could have when I got to Solids and looking at how to lower the fat, carbs and calories in these recipies. I had a grocery list when I got to Solids to go to the store with, so try to stay busy, and not bored, you will be less depressed! I slept a lot and watched a lot of TV too. I made up my mind that when I could eat solids, I'd have Chinese, I did, but very little of it, I felt so bloated afterwards! LOL Just take it one day at a time, It will get better for you.:smile2:
  12. Hi tedwa3!

I wish you much luck with your upcoming banding! I know you are so excited, you have a beautiful smile! You will really smile when you have the band, you are not hungry at all!!! I never feel that burning feeling like "I'm starving to death!" anymore, and it is easy to control the quanities of food that you will eat, your weight will come off and you will be so happy that you made this decision.

Second fill Coming up! Excited??? Don't Know What to expect!

I have to admit, I am a little worried about the next fill and excited too! I want to get more weight off and keep it off and I know this is what I wanted! But in three days I will get the next fill #2 and I am so nervous. It doesn't hurt, I am not anxious about that, but I just worry that I will not be able to consume any food much that I like, although I don't get hungry now. I also worry that I will choke or get food hung and panic! Scared to death of that! I have not thrown up at all and I don't like to or want to. Anyone else feel this way?:cursing::thumbup:

Staying the Course, but not dropping the weight.

Hi All, I started the Lindora Lean for Life part of the Lap Band program. I have dropped 3.5 lbs in the first three days! I feel thinner and I am now in ketosis. I will start the Daily Plan tomorrow, it also suggest getting a pedometer to see how many steps you make each day! I am ordering one tomorrow.

Staying the Course, but not dropping the weight.

I feel like I am not dropping enough weight, what am I doing wrong? I am staying under 1,000 calories per day and getting my protien. Started Walking a mile every other day along with some weight work for my arms and body toning. I had my surgery on July 30, 2009, I weighed in at 250.5 and now weigh 228.8. one week prior to surgery I weighed 256.5, but I feel so fat. I know I have lost a lot of weight, but I can't feel that it is enough for the time. I am feeling ashamed and defeated, anyone else experience this?:crying:

Staying the Course, but not dropping the weight.

Thanks Arb, You are right, I need to give my body something to burn. I started having headaches and It is probably because of that. I am going to add more protein.
  18. Hi Lucky Five,

I am getting my second fill on the 30th of September, this month. I am hoping to get off a few more pounds and lots of inches before Oct. 17th, 2009 which is the date of my Class Reunion (40 Years) I have had the pleasure of getting rid of one huge garbage bag of clothes already, it felt good in a way, and I was scared in another, sure hoping I don't need them back again. But looking at your photo's I know I won't.

  19. Seeing your photos are very encouraging to those of us just getting started! Good Luck with the Tummy Tuck. I had to pay for my Lap Band Surgery, but I will always believe that it is totally worth it! I am on the low carb, high protein, getting into Ketosis. I am really loosing the weight! You look amazing. Good Luck and God Bless you in the surgery.

  20. Hi Lucky Five 101, thanks for the friend invite, I will need all the help I can get to stay in this fight against being fat all my life! I was so tired of dieting, I just refused to get on another one, I always gained the weight back. But after a vacation to the mountains, and I could barely catch my breath when walking I made up my mind to go ahead with my surgery. I am so happy that I did. Your photos are very encouraging thank you for posting. You look amazing. How much more weight are you going to loose?
