    So fulFILLed....

Hey Girl, I felt like a 57 year old fool when I started 4 months ago! But I jumped in and knew I had paid the money, and I was there to get what I came for! I got my seventh fill yesterday, weighed in (Lost another 4 1/2 lbs-Total of 71 in 6 mos 11 days) and I lost lots of inches! In my waist 1 1/2 and an inch in my bust in one month, I am doing crunches, and working cardio and weight resistance. When I don't go, I feel bad, I have to get out and walk or jog just to feel better!!! Good luck, you are moving in the right direction and you will be one of the VERY successful ones with the band! I love that full feeling, I use to say all the time, I AM STARVING TO DEATH! But no more!

I am having terrible gas and chest pain exspecially when i try to burb.

I use to rub my shoulder and that is where I hurt the most, I did not know to take andy Gas X, so I took the pain meds the Dr. gave me, liquid. Walking did help some, but time is what it took to get past the surgery. I feel for you, cause I have been there, but let me just say, when you are past the pain it will be so worth it!

My Reasons for Weight Loss Surgery

I am so sorry you had to endure this treatment! I hope and pray that you know it was not your fault! Your Mom was obsessed with her own weight control and wanted to control yours too. Thank God you are here and considering the lapband.

Reasons for Weight Loss Part II

I enjoyed reading your blog, it is healthy and good to pour out to others. This is the first step to healthy. I too am from the South, but even here there is a prejudice to heavy people, and even if not to your face, behind your back. I have had the band 6 mos ago, down from 267 to 196.8 and just love it, it is really quick, great recovery time 4-7 days and you can be back to work. Losing the weight has given me loads of confidence and self-esteem. I have been involved in a lawsuit for three years, my attorney called me for a depo the day before my surgery, I had not seen him in six months, until last Monday, when I walked in his office, he said to me " Oh My God you are gorgeous"" It felt amazingly wonderful. I am anything but, I am 57 and I know it, but I felt so beautiful that moment! He could not get over the change, I see it too now and I am happier than I have ever been in many years! I too am looking for work this summer, I was a real estate broker, and it has gone to the pitts here in Florida, so I now have to find other income soon. I would love to be your friend and help you all I can!

.1 CC is all I Got~Could it be I am at my SWEET SPOT???

:frown:well that is it! I have hit the spot with my LapBand that I am not needing any fills for awhile. I have good restriction and even tho I am still losing weight, I can eat a good amount of food and fluids to be satisfied! Now I have to relax and let the band help me, and make food choices that are good and low carb, and continue to exercise! I went in for a fill, weight and measurement appointment yesterday 6 mos and 11 days post band. I am down 71 lbs! Yeahhhhh! I also lost an inch and a half from my waist and inch in the bust, and other inches in the calves and thighs and upper arms. I could only get in .1cc. The Doctor put in .5cc's and had to remove it all but the .1cc, I was refluxing back up in the esphogus! My band is staying tight! That means I am not stretching it out by eating foods that will do that or overeating! I was a little disgusted with myself and disappointed that I had not lost more weight this month, but he said I will not drop as much because the ratio of weight I have to lose now in proportion to my excess body weight is just right, and this will allow my skin to tighten. So I have decided to be happy for now, and content to just continue on the Journey with the Lapband for life. Over a period of five years, you will lose weight on the LapBand if you eat right and exercise. That will be me! I am committed! I went shopping today and bought some BCBG jeans in a size 14 regular! And a top BCBG in a medium! I love to shop now! I don't have to wear the X's anymore or the W's! I am in a whole new department! Again did I say I LOVE IT!!!!!~~~~~~Don't stop short of the program, eat right, not too much, five small meals a day and at least 30 minutes of exercise three times a week for life!!!!!

Exercising The all Important Factor in weight loss and Life!!!

:crying:EXERCISE! OH HOW I HATED TO EXERCISE, AND EVEN NOW I HAVE TO PUSH MYSELF BEYOND MY COMFORT ZONES! BUT~~~~~EXERCISE IS THE ALL IMPORTANT FACTOR IN TAKING OFF THE ADDED WEIGHT OF THE YEARS! FOR WOMEN, HAVING BABIES PUTS ON WEIGHT FOR SOME AND THEY NEVER CAN PUSH ENOUGH TO GET IT OFF(FOR ME~AND FOR SOME THEY ARE A SIZE 2 RIGHT AFTER) YOU ARE BUSY WITH THE BABY AND JUST ABOUT FORGET YOURSELF. FOR OLDER WOMEN, THE AGE AND SLOWING DOWN DUE TO AGING HAPPENS, AND IT DOES NOT SEEM WORTH THE EFFORT JUST TO LOOK GOOD! :thumbup:BUT IT IS NOT JUST ABOUT LOOKING GOOD! IT IS ABOUT FEELING GOOD. AND LIVING LONGER HEALTHIER LIVES. :thumbdown:TWO MONTHS AFTER BEING BANDED, I JOINED A GYM, WENT OUT ON A LIMB AND PAID FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR(GOT A NICE DISCOUNT TOO) I KNEW I WOULD GO IF I PAID AND NOT LOSE THE MONEY!!LOL :tongue2:I WAS SO UNSURE OF MYSELF, DID NOT KNOW A THING ABOUT ANY OF THE MACHINES EXCEPT THE TREADMILL AND THE BICYCLES! BUT THE GYM OWNER WAS A PERSONAL TRAINER AND HE SET ME UP WITH A CARD AND A ROUTINE! SO FEELING LIKE AN IDIOT, I GOT INTO SOME GYM SWEATS AND GOT STARTED. THAT WAS 4 1/2 MOS AGO. :wub:TODAY I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER! I DO NOT BREAK OUT IN A SWEAT EACH TIME I GO TO THE GYM, I DO ABOUT 45 MIN TOTAL TIME ABOUT THREE TIMES A WEEK. I GET IN 10 OR 15 MIN ON THE TREADMILL TO WARM UP AND THEN HIT THE WEIGHT RESISTANCE MACHINES. I AM WORKING HARD ON THE ABDOMEN RIGHT NOW, THE UPPER ARMS(SO THEY WON'T BE TOO FLABBY FROM THE WEIGHT LOSS, AND THE INNER AND OUTER THIGHS TOO) I STARTED WITH 15 LBS OF WEIGHTS AND I AM UP TO 60 & 75 LBS ON MOST ALL THE MACHINES NOW. BUILDING MUSCLE, IT DOES WEIGH MORE THAN FAT AND LAST MONTH I GAINED INCHES FROM THE ADDED MUSCLE BUT LOST A FEW LBS TOO. THIS MONTH I AM DOING THE SAME THING. SO I AM NOT DROPPING THE WEIGHT AS FAST AS I DID TO START WITH! SO WHAT, THE INCHES I HAVE LOST ALREADY AND THE LBS ARE SUFFICIENT FOR NOW, AND AS I BUILD MUSCLE, IT WILL IN TURN SPEED UP MY METABOLISM TO HELP MY BODY ATTACK AND BURN FAT! :thumbup:MAY I JUST SAY "I LOVE MY GYM" THE FOLKS THERE ARE SO HELPFUL, YET THEY LEAVE YOU ALONE TO YOUR WORK. I MET AN OLD HIGH SCHOOL FRIEND WHO HELPS ME NOW, HE WAS IN "MR. WORLD" CHAMPIONSHIPS AND PLAYED FOOTBALL IN SCHOOL, STILL LOOKS GREAT AT 57, STILL IN SHAPE AND STILL LIFTING WEIGHTS. AGING IS SLOWED DOWN BY THOSE WHO EXERCISE ON A REGULAR BASIS~IT IS PROVEN IT HELPS ARTHRITIS, ETC. GOOD AND HEART HEALTHY, START SOME TODAY. EVEN IF YOU CAN'T OR WON'T BE JOINING A GYM, START WALKING THREE TIMES A WEEK FOR 30 TO 45 MIN. AT THE TIME, DOING SOME FLOOR EXERCISES, (THE KIND WE USED TO DO IN THE SCHOOL GYM WHEN WE WERE YOUNG) JUMP ROPE, JOG, WHATEVER YOU CAN DO TO GET MOVING, YOU WILL WATCH A CHANGE TAKING PLACE IN HOW YOU FEEL AND LOOK AND HOW THE SCALES LOOK BACK AT YOU! I PROMISE! DON'T LEAVE THIS ALL IMPORTANT FACTOR IN WEIGHT LOSS OUT OF YOUR LIFE, GET THE MOST FROM YOUR LAP-BAND® SURGERY!:scared2::thumbup::tt1::tt1:

    sending out an SOS!!!

I had a peice of steak hung for three days, finally drank come coca-cola and that moved it, also someone on here told me to use meat tenderizer in a drink! Have you tried to throw it up? Cause if you don't move it you will continue to slime, that is your juices trying to attack it and break it down.

    I'm pregnant!!!

First of all congratulations! Let me say I lost weight once with a pregnancy, you can still stay on a good nutritional diet plan and lose weight and have a healthy baby and an easier delivery! New weight gain stats are out for obese women, 9 lbs gain during pregnancy is all that is recommended for obese women. Good luck and God Bless and keep you!

    Happy Today!

 Well I am ready for a fill. Not sure why I just can't get the scales to drop that much anymore. I feel like the restriction is less now on some days and more on others, but it does depend on what I am eating too. One of my best friends is getting ready to have the LapBand, she is going through the hoops that BCBS is making her do. And the Diet Clinics don't really help you, cause they just want you back and your money!!! The latter being the most important thing. I hope she does not get discouraged, she will be so happy she made this choice. I am down 67 lbs give or take a lb or two that fluctuates daily now! Support group meeting tomorrow night and I will be so glad! I NEED it. I want to thank all of you who have helped me these last six months. I know it takes time to go in and comment or send a private message, but it means so much to me. I don't know you all but you know where I am because you are there too, and it so helps to share on here. I am Happy Today to have all of you in my life, you are my Valentines!:thumbup::tt1:

    The band date

Hi Amanda! Congratulations on your decision! My husband liked me too just anyway, cause he loved me. He thought I could cut back and lose the weight on my own, and I did, only to gain it back repeatedly, and I stayed depressed and grouchy! He finally got behind my decision to have the LapBand and WOW he has been such a blessing and a supporter, your husband will too. NOW, 67 lbs down he likes the new me, cause I am finally HAPPY, and not overeating, ( I'm a cheap date at the Restaurants! LOL) I am pulling for you, you will be up and around in NO time! Keep us all posted!

Scared to get on the scale...

guys it is perfectly alright to fall off the wagon from time to time. I do too, we all do if we are honest. The lord knows I can not lie about it, when I eat out a lot, I am more tempted, and one potatoe chip never worked for me. I get a fill in two days, and was just washing dishes thinking how bad I need one! I must also get back to planning my daily intake in meals and not veer off the track! Then and only then do I REALLY meet the goals I set for myself. But we are only human!!! I can't eat a hamburger now after 5 fills~it won't go down, I throw it up, cause I have tried! LOL, My granddaughter wanted a happy meal, could not even eat one of the small cheeseburgers!
