  1. Thanks for the Photo Comment, I got my hair cut shorter yesterday, feels so good. Hey I know about the scales, I have been playing with 3 lbs for about two weeks now, just waiting for the day I wake up and I am down 5 lbs. then I know it will be gone (the three lbs). I think we do jog 2-3 lbs as a normal thing staying in maintenance which I AM NOT ready for yet, I want my 18 lbs and the total 100 lbs. I have 4 months left, but I am heading to Alaska this weekend! For a 10 day cruise! Gonna have me some fun! Will post pics when I get back!

    Restriction is RESTRICTING!

Some days I would just love to eat a Cheeseburger and fries or onion rings, but I would not love myself later would I? Just sayin~~~~Food is just not all that anymore, thank God! But I sure watched all my family eat it down today and the Mothers Day Buffet! I counted one family member going back for plate number 3, and just think that used to be me!!!! Thankful for the Band!
  3. You have to go in and click Avatar to change a profile pic! We have lost about the same! Doing Great Feeling Great! Yeah Success feels good. It is 8 months down for me, and you are only two weeks before my surgery, so I think you are 8 1/2 months out only too! You had your band on my birthday!!!! Keep up the good work!

    Restriction is RESTRICTING!

Well, I have certainly gotten to the SWEET SPOT and STAYING THERE! Takes awhile in the mornings to get OPENED up enough to allow the solid food intake! I did have a peice of Lemon Pie (well 1/2 pc) today for Mothers Day. My family took me out to eat, and I felt like I wasted their money. Could not eat but about two bites of each thing or so! I was full, waited for awhile and was able to eat 1/2 pc of pie. It was all very delicious but I have become a SLOW eater and feel like I am PUSHED to eat when I look around the table and some are already on the third plate, mine is getting cold, and I can NOT swallow until I have chewed really good and I think they are looking at me. Anyone else have this problem? I eat really good at home, get everything written down or know what I can eat and keep only those things so I do better at home. Hope all Had a Wonderful Mothers Day! God Bless all Mothers!:cursing:

Sweet Spot is here today~so good for me no fill today!!!

:smile:Well, it is finally here, no need for a fill. I am eating correctly, (according to my Dr.) Not eating things that would streach my band out, losing about 5 lbs a month now (after the 6th month, I have slowed down, was losing 10 or more lbs per month) I did not feel that I should have a fill due to the amount of restriction I have with the band right now. I did get measured and have lost another inch and a half in my waist which is wonderful for me! Now that I know that is still a problem area for me, cause I can fit into pants that are smaller sizes if I can zip them up! My stomach was big at least 4 times in my life due to the children I carried there! Not complaining! Glad to be a MOM! And now a Grandmother too. Just would like to get into a good size 12 and not have a problem zipping them up.:cursing: Happy Mothers Day to ALL!

    One more week

Reaching for the toilet tissue! Seriously, use this week to nest and get ready for the time you will convalese at home. Get things within reach, get a small pillow to place on the port incision to help you when you get up and down and cough. Wear gowns, they are easier to pull up than to pull down pj's. Just a few that I can remember. You will be sore around the Port area, cause that is where the stitches are inside. Give it a few days, and make sure you have Gas~X for the gas pains. Walk around the house inside to help relieve and get rid of the gas from the surgery, give yourself a few days and baby yourself some, take all the help you can get too. In a few days you will be up and at it again, believe me. Don't try to be Superwoman this time~ milk it! LOL Best Luck and Welcome to the Bandsters!
  13. Oh Well Monday Monday come on down. Sunday was a good and relaxing day for me today. I weighed yesterday morning and I was down a total of 6 lbs for the week, then back up a lb this morning. So I'll be happy with a 5 lb loss at this stage in the game. Eight months have passed and I am down 82 lbs so far so good. Next week I will get focused and back on the exercise equipment at the gym. Going to Alaska on a cruise in two weeks, I can hardly wait! This is the one I have wanted for several years. It is 38 degrees at night! Burrrr! 50's in the daytime and rain some days forcast! No worries I have my FrogTogs and UnderArmour and I am READY TO GO! Losing this weight could not have come at a better time for me! I am ready to take on the World and see a good deal of it! I tried on some 10s and 12s and can fit them pretty good, that is the size I feel I will end up with. I can be happy there, since I was in 24W's and some 26 W's. I get a fill and measured on the 6th of May! I have a LOT of restriction, so I am debating the fill. We'll see. Ready for some happy times in my life and NO more Deaths and saddness. Have a good week all!

how long will it take to lose 65 pounds?

Hi and welcome! You will find that each person here is different and eat different, exercise different, that is what makes this site so nice and why we all are addicted to it! LOL You will average about 8 to 10 lbs a month if you add exercise to your plan, and you will TONE and your skin will go back into place well, I suggest you get up and get movin, build the muscle tone and muscle combats fat to keep you from gaining the fat back it increases the metabolism, which was my problem before when I weighed 272! Now I have lost 82 lbs in 8 months. Down from a size 24W to a 14 and 12 regular, top is different from the bottom. Have only lost 3 inches in the boobs, 22 from the hips! Just hang on for the ride, your life will change and if you do follow the plan you will love the results.

    Happy band-day to me.

Thanks for your decriptive post. I am 8 months out, 82 lbs gone forever, and we all had to start where you are now. The good post like these had helped me so much, I am addicted to this site, love the support you find here. Wish I had more time to be on here and answer all the post.

    two weeks in

I think you are doing great, but NO carbs is not really too good, you need to have some carbs. Not over 30 grams though, and that could be from milk in your protein shakes. When losing that much weight that fast you could have you hair start to fall out~get that protein in first, 80 grams AT LEAST per day. The weight loss is a good thing, but overall living with it for a long time you will learn not the only good thing, don't lose so fast your skin sags and your hair falls out. Not to scare you, but you have the rest of your life to get the weight gone and you did not put it on overnight either. Just take a deep breath and relax, welcome to the bandsters.

    Misery comes in THREES!

We are sad this evening as we lost my husbands father at 4:40 PM. He was 88 years old and had a long and very interesting life, lots of children and grandchildren and we feel he is in a better place. As we struggle with this tonight, I realized that when I stress, I can NOT swallow food very well so it is harder for me to get any nutrients in. So tomorrow I will go to liquids until I calm down and relax. The LapBand life if one we learn and live on a day to day basis. May not get to be on here for a few days, so please send up a prayer or two for our family! Thanks to my Lapband friends!
  20. Thanks so much for your post tonight, It really makes me feel good to know that there are those friends on here who REALLY Care about others, and it sure has been one rough month, but we are going to get through it with a lot of prayers going up. Having company over tomorrow for dinner, our familes from out of town and the service Sat. at 11 AM. We will miss these people dearly in our lives, and we continue on in Gods Service. Many Thanks to you Michelle.

It is a great feeling, I had lost 38 lbs for my 40 year Class Reunion and I actually felt skinny and liberated for the first time in years, I look back on the photos now and I actually think I looked GOOD! Thank God for the LapBand and how it has changed my life and all of yours. Good for you!
