    Recipe Of The Day! Ratatouille

Sounds wonderful, I was looking for a recipe for my daughters wedding rehearsal dinner, this would be great! Add a nice side salad and some Garlic Bread for them! I love your blogs too! Thanks for sharing your great low fat, low cal recipes! God Bless You!
  3. Hi, Well, I have not reached my second goal, but I have reached my first, and just staying there is a weekly challenge. But I think I just have to watch the portions now, I KNOW what I should and should not eat, but I can eat slow and eat a lot that way if I am not careful. I am staying in a size 14, that is what I was when I got married so I have never been a tiny person! LOL I feel good, but I want to be in a perfect size 12 within the coming year. Hoping and Praying! And you are welcome for the prayers, they are freely flowing for all us LapBanders! People think we cheated somehow to lose the weight but I have found this journey challenging and difficult at times, but very rewarding and in a shorter period of time than my other diet programs, AND we know that when we lose the weight it will stay off! Because If I ate everything in the kitchen, I could only hold just so much of it! Best Wishes!

    Don't Get Upset

May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His Glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the Holy Spirit indwelling your innermost being and personality. EPHESIANS 3:16 The day begins and we are dissappointed or get upset and then we may act ugly, throw fits, and ruin our witness of what God has done in our lives. People will be jealous of you and how you have lost weight and they will envy your efforts and covet what you have. Do not act ugly or Get Upset. Pray for those people and be happy about your accomplishments anyway! Good health brings about true happiness and for a longer lifetime! Losing weight has always made me feel better about myself as a person but never made me feel any better than any other person. We are all created equal in Gods eyes! Be satisfied that you made the right choice for YOU! You can not decide for others what is right for them, the LapBand is for me, but NOT for everyone! Many people constantly seek the thrill of new experience, but everything new eventually becomes an old thing. Sooner or later, people have to be happy with old things too, or they will never reach God's higher goal of contentment. We must learn to be content with such things as we have to the point where we are not disturbed or disquieted, no matter what state of mind we are in. We should remain humble and enjoy plenty. The secret to facing every situation, whether well-fed or hungry, was to be content.:smile2:

    Third fill today!

Congrats! 65 lbs! Wow, you are doing wonderful. I pray every day for the strength to keep on losing the weight I need to lose, lots of daily problems to deal with don't help with the stress related issues and the LapBand eating regiment. I try to eat too fast! I always have and then not being able to drink with my meal that is another thing to face. You are doing so well, continued success.

    First restaurant experience

My first meal was Chinese, I ate a small portion from the Buffet, it was SOOOO tasty! I just stopped and rested between each bite to make sure it was all going down and staying down. I had to remember that the stomach is still swollen and you don't want to irritate it! Eat soft foods like the CHILI that you did, and you will know when to stop. It is just off kilter from the Norm, but when you return home, just get back on track, life will happen and we will learn to live with it and go with the flow! Continued success! Praying for you!

    I can do this

This site always gave me my motivation along with my innerself! I have a VERY skinny husband who NEVER gained a pound for the past 31 years of our marriage! I was always up and down, and I think he just thought this was another one of my TRYS at something new! I am living proof it can be done and NOW he is a true believer in the LapBand! He is a great help to me, but does not go to the Gym with me and I felt all alone there, but pushed on!!!! Keep on Keepin ON! I am praying for you!

    3 weeks post op.. (almost)

You will do fine! I remember the first time I got stuck, oh it was terrible, yes and I too thought drinking something would help me to move it down the track, WRONG! LOL it is funny now but not then. Keep up the good work, don't expect too much weight loss the first month, just heal and get well and the losses WILL Come, Praying for you!

    Off Track....Again

Don't get upset over this, just get a pencil paper and start logging again, that is the first and hardest step for me, but when I do it, I can see so clearly where I have messed up. Today I had no energy! Had a headache, but I did , manage to eat right today, and that I know from experience will show up on the scales in the morning. Keep On Keepin on and you will acheive your goal!

It's the strangest thing.... *Overshare warning*

Great Post, the only place I really despise on my body right now is my underarm wings, and I have worked out since 8 weeks after surgery, weight lifting ;the works, they don't look real bad to others, but to me I am bothered by them, I may have them fixed, and then there is the tummy that held my four babies, yes a tummy tuck will be nice, but I too have noticed my stomach shrinking very nicely!!! But my scars have moved several times over the past year as well, my port moves too as I continue to lose in the stomach area! It is a real learning experience, and has been a marvelous experience for me too! Loved the blog tonight!

Up and Down these past three days!

Well after the fourth of July and some cake and goodies. (cheating) I have rolled 2 lbs up and down. I am going to have to work hard to get them gone, cause I have a goal this month to meet to get to my bandiversary weight. I won't hit 100 lbs, but that is OK! Life does go on around us and we are still a part of it. We will get use to how to work out lives around the band, to work with it, not against it. Have a blessed day all!:frown:
  12. Thanks Debra, I love your site! Thanks for sharing the recipes, that does help in meal planning and calorie counting as well. A lot of folks after the band, just don't know what to eat. Have a wonderful and blessed day.

  13. Yeah Shonette! I am so happy for you, you are about to embark on a wonderful journey! I have never regetted the day I had the band, as it has truly changed my life for the better, I will be praying for you on the 21st. You will get a little nervous before the surgery that is natural, but it will be fine. So happy that all is working out well for you.

  14. Yeah! For Shonette! So happy for you!

    "I can't find anything to wear"~~~I can't believe I DON'T say this anymore!!!!!!!

You are so welcome Healthy111! I feel that we are probably more discriminated against than any race, they have far more protection from it! I too now work in HR, but as an assistant, and it just infuriates me to see people who "on purpose" can hurt others lives because they can. No empathy for others. NOT Sympothy, I never needed that, but put yourself in my shoes for one time and try not to criticise others to the degree that you make fun of others. God gave us a freedom to choose the "Right" path, the "Right" things to do and the "Right" things to say. If we do not make good use of that Freedom, we might not have it too long, he is in control of our lives, but allows the freedom to choose, so we can apply our teachings to our lives. We are being graded too!

    Thanks Sandy, Bless You!
  17. That Is a great Idea for a Social Group!!! Lindora really helped me and I still try to stick as close to that plan as is possible.

    Lap Band TLC

Hey Stay with Lindora! I followed it too, printed off the materials daily, and it WORKS! It is difficult to stay with but honestly you will lose faster on that program than any other, I now teach it at our support group. I never bought any of their products, I just ate off the shelf and learned to look for high carb foods and avoid them, it is the best way to live. Good Luck to you, I am down 91 lbs now.
  19. janetsjourneytoslim

    Now, 84 lbs gone forever!

Thanks jmunks2000~~~~and Judyjones! It has been a roller coaster but great journey so far! I love getting dressed in the mornings now! LOL, I have a lot to wear these days!
  20. Yes Judy! Alaska was awesome! At first I was excited to go and then lost some of my enthusiasm. Then when we reached Seattle WA, I got excited again, it was like nothing I had ever imagined!!! The only challenge I had WAS with eating! I could not eat anything hardly, but actually gained 4 lbs on the trip! When Cortizone is released into our bodies from stress sometimes, our stomachs swell, thus tightening the band around it, I think I had a too tight fill also just before I went on the trip, so I threw up a lot, when throwing up, it makes the stomach swell and the band tight, so when I got back from Alaska I went in and had .04 cc taken out, and lost about 6 lbs! So I am back on track now! The food was awesome by the way, what I got to stay down! LOL This month is my one year Bandiversary, I have lost 91 lbs so far and very happy and contented with the band, and I believe I will lose more in the next couple of years. Have fun and be sure to post photos for us to view.

KILLER AT LARGE: Why Obesity is America's Biggest Threat

I had heard this a while back, and it is true, we even got supersized too! LOL, we always want more bang for the buck, and they know we are hungry so why not? Fries are so good, but they are the reason we have severely clogged arteries! Heart attack and strokes are the number one killer of women. My friend just passed away at age 56, she had only had a gastric bypass about three years ago and looked wonderful! She had clogged arteries and it was massive. Even though we are losing weight and getting healthy, lets not forget to get regular checkups with our doctors, to check on the damage that may have already been done! Miss her terribly and she was so beautiful, and so happy she was smaller, she had even bought a Harley and learned to ride and loved it!
  22. Wow you hardly look like the same person! Good Job!

  23. Hi so glad to add you as a friend. I love seeing someone who has had the band a while on here to talk with. I also love your Quotes, robbed a few, hope it is ok! LOL You look awesome too, I love your photo with the blue dress and your man! WoW!
