    Say Cheese

A young woman I knew since she was a little girl, just passed away from Colorectal Cancer. She listed several things she would do differently if she could, she was only in her 20's. One of those things was "Don't always be the one behind the Camera" Photos are memories of snapshots in time, the times of our lives! They do provide a history of the journey of our lives for those who will come to know us through them even after we are gone. I am going to have a session with a photographer in some new clothes very soon for my one year Bandiversary, then one year from now, I will look back on them and hopefully be changed some more for the better. Great Idea, love to see you and read your blogs! Keep them coming.

Bandiversary Today ~ NOT Dissapointed, NOT Through Yet!

Yes I am smilin today! One year and I am so happy and definately not dissapointed! A year ago today, I was unsure, unhealthy, unhappy and unattractive! The lapband AP surgery has changed all that to me! I am full of confidence, if I can do this, I can do anything! I was unhealthy, on the verge of diabetis, taking Metphormin for it, High Blood pressure and High Cholesterol too were just around the corner. Now I take no meds unless I have a headache, like Normal people do. I was so unhappy with myself, I smiled on the outside, but was dying on the inside. I tried to dress to appear smaller and it worked some until I undressed and really saw myself! I felt unattractive, unwanted and just plain miserable. I felt like I HAD to do everything! Had to go to work, Had to have friends over, Had to talk to them and entertain, Had to get up and face the world. NOW I WANT to do all these things and more, so my life has turned around and with the help and grace of God it is all for the better! I am not through with this Band thingy! OH NOT quite the contrare!! I am ready to start things over just like the first year! Today I start writing down my foods, I start taking time for some exercise in my life! I start with a weight loss goal, written down to work from! I see my doctor in a week, I hope he will be as pleased with my one year results as I am. God Bless you all today with your goals and efforts. If he takes care of the Sparrow, he is watching over us too!
  4. Thanks so much for your sweet comments, I welcome them anytime! I know you are excited and scared and that is certainly natural, I had to keep telling myself, "This is what you wanted, what you have waited for" Then I prayed and all my fears left me, I was certain this Band was for me and my lifetime, what I would have left. I have been so much happier these past months, even tho they have been a new challenge for me. I am more positive about what I know, want to do, and just life in general. A whole new life and outlook on life await you, God Bless you and I will be praying for you on the 11th! Welcome aboard, lets keep in touch.

  5. Hi, Thanks for the sweet comments and Bandiversary Wishes. I feel so blessed, and I love this site. Ya'll really inspire me!!! I just turned 58 and sure wish I had done something in my 40's too. The band was not available in the US and I did not want the Gastric Bypass it was so dangerous at that time. I would love to have enjoyed more activities with my children, that being heavy prevented me from doing, or I was too ashamed of my body to do with them. I was an active Mom with them, but reserved. I feel so glad that I have a chance to do some of those things with my grandchildren, they will think I am a silly granny, but fun here I come! Have a wonderful day!

  6. Thanks so much for your kind wishes on my Bandiversary! This site is wonderful for inspiration. The Lord has really helped me to get a grip on my life, the lapband has helped me to regain my confidence and desire to plunge forward with my life and live it to the fullest each day. Have a wonderful weekend.

  7. Thanks for your sweet Bandiversary wishes, you all inspire me too, this is a great site! God Bless whoever started it! Hope all is going well with you have a great weekend.

  8. Thanks for your sweet comments for my Bandiversary! I think blogging is a way for us to look back and see where we have come from. I was definately afraid to post photos, but now glad I did. Looking back, it is getting harder and harder to remember that person I used to be. Thankful for that! LOL

  9. Thanks so much for your sweet wishes. I truly trust that the Lord is on my side, he has helped me through so much this past year. Hope all is going well with you.

  10. Thank you so much Ken for your nice comments on my Bandiversary. I started logging my food once again yesterday, which is hard for me to get in the habit of doing. I just don't want to! Ha! But I will because that really forces me to look at what I am eating. I want to lose about 25 more lbs and then maintain. I have a year to do that in my goal. God is on my side so I feel I will make it!

  11. Thanks so much for your kind comments, I have come so far, but with a long road ahead and want more from this change. It will come, I believe it too. I am a work in progress as we all are. Tomorrow it will be one year since my surgery and I am down about 90 lbs or so, give or take a few lbs for the up and downs in my life, I can live with this loss. Hope all is going well for you too!

  12. Hi, Following your Blog! My daughter is also a Teacher. I have another daughter getting married in October and I have to get busy losing some more weight and order my dress. I have to challenge myself some more. I need to get back to writing the food I eat down and more water too.

    Stuck! More Ways Than One!

Ate four Shrimp today at lunch, did not chew one little bite thoroughly and it was about to kill me, the chest pain was aweful! So I went in the bathroom and made myself throw it up! So pure relief was mine. A few minutes later I finished my lunch and it was good. But Shrimp is one of the foods I love, but do have trouble with. I think it lumps together in the chanel to the stomach. Maybe next time I will just eat three shrimp.

    Be Grateful!

Thanks to all of you who love, care and support those new lapband patients on here, I was one of them, and I grew because of the care and support I recieved here on this website! God Love you all!

    Be Grateful!

:thumbup:BE GRATEFUL! It's easy to forget to be grateful, to let daily worries distract you from the abundance that is yours. Mortgage payments, troublesome children, a looming deadline, a broken waterheater, a headache, even a burned pizza or a fallen cake can interfere with your appreciation for the blessings you have been given. Inconveniences will pass, but God's Blessings and love will keep showering down on you. I don't plan to preach to you each time I blog on here, but I am so grateful for every day I live now with the band. I am thankful for the compliments I recieve from my true friends when they see me and see how I have improved my life. It reassures me that I made the right decision and I will be ever so grateful for the Band and God in my life.:smile2:

    Happy Days!

:smile:Good Morning! And it is good. I am staying the same, and that is a GOOD thing. I look at life this way, at least I am not gaining weight. All my life I gained weight. Now I am able to stay within a lb or so and right back down to the weight I have reached. I am fairly content with this weight, but sure I would like to get one size smaller! I believe it will come to me one day soon. I am not going to push too hard, to allow my skin to adjust to all the weight loss. I have two grandchildren arriving in September, new babies. One is a Girl~Ava and the Other a boy~ Wesley, So life is all good. My youngest daughter is getting married to a wonderful young man she has been seeing for 8 years now on and off. They are the perfect couple. Planning is now in the "Get it done stages, so we are a little stressed, but not much, it is fun!" So many Happy Days! I have nothing to complain about today! May God Bless your day and Give you What you Desire!

    Eight Week Bandaversary Today

Congrats! I remember getting into those 18's! It felt wonderful too. I could not let myself believe that I would be in 16's too soon after that and did not get any, then the 18's were falling off of me! Every 10 lbs or so, I was down a size! It was wonderful, went from a 24-26 to 14 regulars! It is the best feeling. God Bless You as you grow smaller! The next 8 weeks will bring lots of joy and blessings!

    Postponed

I agree totally with all your comments, I too paid for my surgery and I would never want to Cheat Myself out of the good it has done for me. I eat sensibly now and If I don't lose I maintain. And I am so happy that I too have a husband that supports me and most of my friends do too! You know what? If you had a good week, the meeting needs you, if you had a bad week you need the meeting! I truly believe this! No matter what you heard, you learned a great deal from it ALL right? And I know you now know what NOT to do! That is what I too learn! God Bless you, just keep up the good work.

A good dose of the Movies Helps!

:rolleyes2:Well the movies with a friend was wonderful, Saw INCEPTION! I am still reeling from the ending, but it is the hottest movie out right now, so I will just not tell you the ending. Getting out and feeling normal really helps! Yes I had some popcorn, sure can not hold what I use to hold back in the day. It always smells so much better and taste better than the popcorn you get at home! My friend and I shared a box. I worked on a Commercial Real Estate Deal that I have going today and I hope it goes through as it will be a NICE commission! Let me tell you a good dose of the Movies will take you out of reality and make you feel much better if you are down in the dumps.!:bye:

    Do Good Anyway!

:smile:One of the Paradoxical Commandments! If you do Good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Do good anyway! Ever been accused of being a Do-gooder? These Commandments were written by a 19 year old Harvard Student, Kent Keith and have been all over the world! Even Sister Teresa had them hanging on her wall!!! We must try each and every day to do what is Good and Right! Even tho there will be those that don't want or appreciate what good you do, do it anyway! You will be glad because of it and rewarded for it. Those will come to see good in you! Kent M. Keith, never realized when he was only 19 and writing a paper for a college how profound these Paradoxical Commandments for Christians would impact the world. You can find his book "Jesus Did it Anyway" in bookstores everywere. I suggest you purchasing this book, it is such a great influence in my daily life, right next to the Bible! Have a wonderful day all!:rolleyes2:

    Stress and the band

Stress releases cortizone into our systems and that causes the stomach to swell and thus tightens the band! I use to stress before each fill and leave not getting enough! I don't like needles period and I would watch the monitor trying not to see. My Dr. made me close my eyes to relax to get the fill! I do know that stress does me the same way. When I have my Mom who is Alzheimers, it stesses me so much because I think about how much longer she will know me and hear her talking about nothing and have to answer her questions over and over about where is she, who is going to stay with her, where is her vehicle, can she drive, she loses everything and I have to hunt for it. Getting her dressed for Church is a task, very slow, we are always late. LOL I love her and want to do it, not complaining, but just to show you, after Church, we go to eat, I take three bites, PAIN, no food and I am so hungry! It is STRESS! I take her back to the Assisted Living, take my food home, eat it, when relaxed, COLD! But this is my life with the Band! Still Love it, still love my Sundays with my Mom!
