Hi Andree I did my consultation over the phone. I don't think it took too long. They ask you personal info, allergies, previous surgeries, if you are on any medication. If you decide to go ahead and book the the surgery you need to put $2500.00 down payment which is used towards your $16000.00. I applied for financing through credit medical and that process was more time consuming than the application for surgery!!! If you want more info about the financing just send me a message I'll tell you my experience. Hope this helps.

Cloe you WILL weigh 197 YOU CAN DO IT!!! I love this board it feels so comfortable and the positive feedback is so refreshing. I don't encounter too many positive people on a regular basis. The loser is probably emotionally abusing your sister. If she thinks everything is her fault it is because he is making her feel that way. She need to see that there are better situations out there. If she could hang out with people her own age in good relationships or single. Women who are happy, she will want that too. I would be worried that she would have a baby with that loser. then he will have control over her life forever. Keep your chin up and keep fighting the fight.

Green I wear a size 9 shoe and I never thought I had small feet. I'm 5'4 so I think the are big for my height. But I do need some new shoes when I go to Toronto. We are stay ing near Square One mall per Yoda's recommendation. My sister and I are crazy shoppers. Every trip I 've made I've had to purchase another suitcase or 2 to bring back my purchases!

Made it though another day on the pre-op diet. Weighed myself this am and I weigh 197.6 lbs. My husband joked I could cancel my surgery now. Its not the losing the weight that is the problem I have... I've done it many times before. The problem I have is the gaining it back. I know that the band will be the tool I needed to maintain my weight loss for the rest of my life. Off to go eat yogurt....

Hi Kim I am a recovering diet coke addict. The reason I've read, that diet pop makes you hungrier is, your body can not tell if you are ingesting real or artificial surgar. And when you drink it makes you crave more. I am sure some one else can add to this explanation.

I was never able to use my clothes as a guide for my weight. Especially now with lycra in all the clothes because I could wiggle my fat butt into the same clothes. I could kid myself that I was not gaining wieght and that my husband had done the laundry!!

you can purchase arnica at a health food store that sell homopathics. And wow that looks painful!! and nice butt!

While I was at work yesterday a customer came in. She said she had been away from school for the week, I asked her why and she said she has MONO I was polite, and the minute she walked out the door I washed my hands and sprayed the place with Lysol disenfectant spray. I' d would be super upset if my surgery was post- poned cause I got MONO!!!!

I am a food inhaler. When banded ones describe sliming and getting stuck. I have been doing this for about 5 years, not on a regular basis. If I am very hungry and hurry to eat. Especially bread I get a blockage in my throat and I can neither swallow or spit it out. I can't even swallow my own spit and then what seems like slime (thick saliva) comes out. If I try to drink it only gets worse. (The blockage part) So I have to talk my self into just relaxing and the food goes down. I have not learned my lesson cause it happened to me the day before I started my pre-op diet. I am thinking I will have to be super careful once I have the band. Aren't you happy I shared that with you????!!!!

Hi Mandi 1 day shopping Thursday, Friday Surgery, Sat what ever I can do.Sunday late afternoon fly back to Tbay then drive back home. Not enough shopping time but next time, when I am skinnier I'll go for a fill and shop til I drop!!!!!

It looks like there are some new smiley faces!! Day 4 of pre-op diet. Today I am grateful that the pre-op diet is not lettuce and veggies only. I can handle this diet...for 6 more days. I am tired tho.:bored and still have a headache, but I can tolerate it. 1 more week till surgery. It is coming up sooooo fast. eeeeek I leave home wednesday, fly from TBay on thursday, surgery 10 am Friday TLBC hurray.

To all the big footed girls, Last time I lost weight my shoe size also went down 1/2 a size!

i weigh myself before and after going to the bathroom, before and after I eat and dressed and undressed. I've bought more scales that most people own in a lifetime. Sometimes I even take the scale on vacation with me. No scale = eating out of control and big weight gain. This of course will change once I am banded in 8 DAYS. :hail: :funscale:

Doing OK on my pre-op diet . Went to bed at 9 pm last nite so I wouldn't want to eat. I can eating nothing all day, but come 4 pm i can't stop eating. And I am a closet eater, we had company and I wouldn't eat in front of them even though I had just gotten back from work at 7 pm. When the friends left I got ready for bed without even watching the finale of RockStar Supernova (YA Lukas!!)

Loriely I knew it was lack of cake!!!!
