Who you gonna see for the fill Elizabeth?
  6. I'm currently sporting a trendsetting 10cc VG band. I did have the same complaints. I lost weight at first, but then had no restriction (and I am taking A LOT of prednisone which makes you hungry and makes you gain weight). I have had 4 fills in 9 months and now at 8.6cc filled I have some minor restriction. I can still eat whatever I want, but I have the simple sensation of restriction but its not stopping me from eating. I have lost 47 lbs, but I am weighing and logging every bite of food I eat. That is the only way you will lose while you are trying to get to the sweet spot in your band.

Breakfast: Slim Fast Meal On The Go Bar (milk chocolate peanut) Lunch: tuna on a pita with Walden's zero calorie thousand island dressing instead of mayo. Snack: three pretzel rods (120 calories...definitely not worth it) Dinner: Chicken burger with american cheese (no bread) 1 cup carrots, 1 cup cucumber, 20 or so olives and Walden's Farm zero calorie dressing as a dip. Dessert: Slim Bear chocolate pop...90 cals...excellent and delicious...but 90 cals? what the hell? 9 waters so far, for a total of 4.5 liters or 148.5 ozs

    5 days to go

I used to videotape weddings, here's my best advice. Relax...enjoy the evening. There is nothing you can do to change the event once it is happening. If something goes wrong, go with it. Dance, drink, eat, have fun, try not to focus on the small things like I didn't get to speak to Auntie Matilda and Uncle Bruce who I haven't seen in ten years. If you miss them at the wedding, send them a nice card when you get back and have em over for dinner. My own personal nightmare experiences.... A. I was best man at a wedding, we picked up our tuxes and went home to sleep. The next morning while dressing we realized we never tried on the vests and bowties. They were all children's size small (imagine if you will a 500lb man in a child's small vest) Luckily since they were bib style vest we were able to make belts from elastic bands and strap em on for the photos, same for the ties. B. I was best man at a wedding (different one) and the last tux fitting goes horribly wrong...clearly our order has been mixed up with some kind of children's performing circus act. My pants fit my waist but end at my knees. My shirts end at my elbows and my jacket has arms to my knees, but doesn't get to my waist. Same goes for most of the bridal party. The groom and I drive 4 hrs to the main warehouse and hand pick the tuxes with the staff, then drive back and have them sized in the middle of the night at the tux shop. C. I'm videotaping a wedding and a car hits a telephone pole outside the reception and takes out the power. No lights, no dj, no nothin. We rig the DJ from our 12v converters for the cameras using a half a dozen car batteries from the guests, stick up every light we had and we enjoyed a dimly lit dance marathon...people danced through dinner, it was one big giant crazy party. I could go on, some are sad, some are funny, all of them are weddings and in the end that's what it's all about. Make sure you have a ride home after the wedding (most people dismiss the limo and then wind up stranded). Make sure your best man is handling your tux, and he knows he is handling your tux. Leave the rest to chance and have fun.

    Steroids!!!

I'm currently taking prednisone, and I feel like I am starving ALL THE TIME! I gained weight two visits ago and I went Rambo on my food intake. I measured everything like I was living in a life raft and it was all I had left. I counted every ounce of Water, calculated every calorie and entered every nibble of food at fitday.com....the outcome...-11lbs last appointment (thursday before labor day). I got a .5 fill to bring me up to 8.5 cc in my 10cc VG band...I hope the restriction gets better as the week goes on because right now I'm seeing a little, but I can still eat and I am still starving. Keep your head up, log your intake and shake yer booty with your iPod and you will be fine.

Gone For Good Club - September 2006

As far as GFG goes, I'm making choices choices choices. I chose to have a scoop of dirt cake (pudding and crushed oreos). I had about 1/4 cup of ziti, 1/4 cup of thai chicken salad and a ton of asparagus when someone handed me a small scoop of dirt cake. I chose to eat it after I swallowed the first two bites....mmmmmmmmmmm dirt cake. I drank a ton of Water that day, and although I don't know the exact calorie intake of that delicious evil dirt cake...I know I walked constantly the rest of the day to make up for it. Today I had a slim fast Breakfast bar and about a cup of ziti with zucchini and red sauce. So I won't beat myself up for the dirt cake, I will just correct it with a good solid measured week.

    Inner Thigh trouble

Inner thigh muscles can be targeted by getting a standard kitchen chair, lay on your side, put your top foot on the seat of the chair and then lift the bottom leg until your foot touches the bottom of the chair. Hold your foot there for a few seconds, repeat. I had to do millions of these when I tore apart my knees playing football....very low stress and anyone can do em. btw...they hurt like hell after awhile.

    3 years yesterday

Hi Chris, Why not come to the 3rd Tuesday meeting at Dr Geiss' office, the therapist, dietician and other banders will rally to help. I think one of the changes needed is going to be exercise. I know i'm not eating much but I only lose when I move alot more. 70 lbs lost and staying lost is a victory in itself. Perhaps its just a small attitude adjustment needed to get you back on the losing path. I know I will be there, and I hope you come too. I will be the HUGE guy who looks like Hagar the horrible. 20. Hi everyone, I'm new here and thought I would post a quick hello. I was banded on Dec 6th 2005, and I am currently down ~40lbs. I am having some severe complications with Gout and Rheumatoid Arthritis which are keeping me from exercising which I feel is really holding up how much weight I will lose. Anyone else in this same predicament?

Your Favorite Garage Sale Buy ~ What is it?

I recently found a wholesaler selling Sony camera equipment for my camera, but they had the model numbers wrong. I was able to buy two camera docks w/ remote and two underwater camera enclosures for under 50 bucks shipped. I then sold one of the camera enclosures on e-bay for 300 bucks. Now I have a dock for my computer, and a dock for my TV with remotes and when I go away in November I will be taking some lovely underwater pictures with my new underwater camera enclosure. I don't know if this is the right place but I have a brand new never opened Canon All In One printer/scanner/copy machine which I want to sell...cheap. Anyone interested pm me please. I would like to get $75 for it (I'll pay for shipping). Froogle has it for $90-120.

    Anyone from NY area??

I missed a few, but I will be there this month. I am doing fairly well, I had a massive setback after a gout and rheumatoid arthritis flare up which left me immobile and loaded up on steroids (which make you hungry 24/7) mix those with no restriction and I gained. I don't blame the pain or the restriction, the food still had to get into my face or I wouldn't have gained. I put my nose to the grindstone, weighed and measured all my food, started posting my daily menu in one of the threads here and lost 11 lbs in under 12 days. I got another fill the day I found out I lost the 11lbs (last thursday). I'm 9 months in and down 47 lbs and from what I can tell today (started on some mushies) i'm getting the sensation of being full at least with the same breakfast bar I always eat. It's not staying very long but its a great sign in my mind.

If you disagree with me, YOU HAVE NOT GOT A CLUE!!!!

I will feel horrible for all of you when my 49ers finish their re-building years and begin their eventual domaination of all things football. The Globetrotters are a traveling "trick" basketball team. It's more performance art then basketball, although they do actually keep score and win and lose depending on the day. They always play the New York Nationals (used to be the Washington Generals). For a short period of time in the late 70s early 80s that had alot of TV shows and Cartoons with them starring or co-starring in them. Here's a few video clips with some samples of their art: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QoT1OuGHR0]YouTube - harlem globetrotters[/ame] http://www.harlemglobetrotters.com/ http://www.harlemglobetrotters.com/videoclips/ [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6Sw22iHw2k]YouTube - Harlem Globetrotters[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-Y1y6QOE6M]YouTube - Harlem Globetrotters Mix[/ame]
