Ok, here it goes, I need advice. I have researched all wls and choosen the band. However, after hearing of all the things that can go wrong, I am beginning to doubt my choice. I do NOT want the gastric bypass, but I would concider the sleeve. Here is my huge problem, I am self pay and could NOT afford to get it fixed if something did go wrong. I am going to Mexico to have the surgery and feel great about the Dr. and Hospital, but there is NO WAY I could ever get the money to go back, and I have been told that drs here wouldn't treat me. I do have a fill dr in the states. I am sorry this is so long, but I really need someone to give me some good advice. Thanks to all who send prayers and advice! I am getting my sleeve on Oct. 22. I am on my clear liquid diet and its kicken my butt. I am using Dr. Rumbaut, does anyone know anything good or bad? I haven't seen anyone say anything on here about him. Thanks, Tonya B SC

Thanks so much for your reply, I guess we all would like to know what the future holds, but can't. I plan to be painfully honest with my surgen in Mexico and see what he advises. One way, or another I am going to lose weight and start living life again! Love, Tonya B:tongue:

:wub:I start my pre op diet on Oct. 14th, and I am NOT looking forward to it, however I plan to stick to it, I already have trouble with my liver and I have a good friend who had a lot of trouble because of her liver size. Good luck to everyone, God bless, Tonya B SC

Hello everyone, I am scheduled to be banded on Oct. 22 by Dr. Rumbaut in Mexico. I haven't started my liquid diet yet, but I have tasted my protein shakes and lets just say, I must have bought the worse tasting one out there! I think chicken broth will have to work for me! I am scheduled to have lap band in October by Dr. Rumbaut in Mexico. I am nervous, as I have never been out of the country or had surgery. I have been reading a lot on here and after seeing how many things can go wrong and how slowly you lose weight, IF you lose weight, I am thinking of having a gastric bypass. I am scheduled to have a lap band on Oct. 22 with Dr. Rumbaut. My family doctor called me today and told me that she was against me going to mexico for lapband. She said the doctors and hospitals have no regulations and I would be sorry if I did. So now I am scared to death to go, but I can't afford it here in the states.
