I'm able to go every 2 weeks too I hope it makes finding my "sweet spot" that much easier..

The "thinking about it" was the worst part! And I'm not a huge fan of getting shots! I was scared when she came at me..and she told me that (while she was giving me the fill) I could let go of the exam table.. easypeasy!

Wow that's not good .. I had 3cc's put in my band ..6 weeks after surgery.. don't feel anything yet ..but I'm not upset because I get to go back on June 23rd for my 2nd fill.. I think slower is better..

When I eat and maybe just a little bit to much ..I get a pain in my side (above my hip) and it's almost like a runners cramp. I've looked at pictures of where the band is..but I was wondering if it could be my 'pouch' feeling full.. giving me this pain.. Anyone else have this? Thanks!

I had my 1st fill today at it was easypeasy! :thumbup: It was the overthinking about it which was the worst part.. It felt like any other blood test-type shot ..and I could feel it go through the hard part of the port..didn't hurt, just felt strange! No biggie!

Wow that's great that your starting early :thumbup: ..what is your Pre-Op diet? Everyone is so different..

I've been so good at working out.. for the past month it's been 3 days a week and it's been great for my mind/body..I didn't think I would have to stop during pre-op..but I haven't gone at all.. I don't feel that great without carbs/sugar ..and I think working out and all of that would make me feel worse.. I'm getting back to the gym as soon as I can after surgery.. Good luck!!:thumbup:

Oh and I've lost about a 1lb a day so far .. which is great! :laugh:

I started my 11 day Pre-Op diet on 4/11 and my surgery is on 4/21.. almost there! I'm drinking three Protein shakes a day and can have raw veggies (which I spray with lite dressing) ..sugar free fudge pops and all the Water I can drink. The 1st few days were pretty hard..but it's a little bit easier now.. I would suggest maybe cutting down on carbs before you start ..so it won't be so shocking to your system.. I really wish I had done this.. Good luck! :thumbup:

Laurie- That's so funny!! That's who I'm working with too! Dr. Tishler in Glastonbury.. such a small world.. I'd love to hear your experience with him (since your only a few days away!) .. I have my Pre-Op appt with him on 4/2 ..Did you recently have your Pre-Op? I'm curious to see how long it takes from Pre-Op to surgery.. :tt1: Lot's of good wishes to you!! Keep in touch!

Hi Laurie! I'm from CT too ..where are you getting the surgery done? I don't know of any support groups in your area.. The Hospital I'm working with is Hartford Hosp and they have support groups on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. I had to go to two as apart of my pre-op and they were very helpful!! Check out my blog and there's a whole bunch of other blogs that I have on the right hand side.. It's a great bunch of bloggers and we're all in this together supporting each other.. Take care! update to my other post.. paperwork was submitted on 3/11 called Cigna and they told me the paperwork had arrived on 3/16..and could take at least 2 weeks from that date to hear anything.. i got the call today 3/23 and i'm approeved by Cigna!! :smile: so call, bug them and get to the bottom of it ..i think it speeds up the process..:thumbup:

I also have Cigna My paper work was sent out on 3/11 and I called today and spoke to an associate and asked her if anything was showing up on the paperwork that was sent over last week. She said no, but would transfer me to a representative because "customers" couldn't be transferd to the Pre-Determination area.. The Rep told me that my paperwork had been received by them on the 16th and that I should hear something in two weeks. Makes me so mad that other people I've spoke to at Cigna have said it takes 30-45 days.. :biggrin: I'm going to call next week and just make sure..and then another call at the two week mark.:tt2:

I'm looking to buy one of these to help with creating yummy Protein drinks and frozen fruit smoothies ..before/after surgery. Does anyone love one vs. the other?? I wasn't sure how well the Immersion Blender would do with ice..?? Thanks so much! :eek: Kristen

I have Cigna and had to do 6 months of meetings with a dietician .. Only two more to go!! :biggrin: I hope all those years of weight management will pay off for you! Good luck!!

I'm working on getting the band sometime this spring and I'd also love to get pregnant. I've heard some doctors ask you to wait a year.. Did you ladies wait a year? If we're going to have another baby ..it's going to be as soon as we get the green light from the dr's .. we already have a son that's 3.5 and I don't want lots of space in between. Thanks!:biggrin:

I know it's so frustrating to be so close..but not quite there.. It happend to me in 2008 and I was told that I didn't make the requirements to get insur. to cover it. I lived life and unfortunatly gained more weight.. fast forward to Oct 2009 and I'm qualified to start the process.. I wouldn't try to shove lots of food in your face.. that can't feel good.. but I know I tipped the scale in my favor at the very end to make sure I was 1-2lbs over what I needed to be.. just incase. I have CIGNA also.. and what I understand is that the 6 months starts with the 1st Dr or Nutritonist apt.. It stinks that you have to wait longer than you thought.. I hope time goes by super fast for you!! And hey! I'm in CT too!!

That's great! And maybe now #13 will be a lucky number!!

I'm feeling the same way! I can't wait for Spring! And it's not even winter yet!!
