I, too, am having pooper problems. No worries. My surgery was on the 16th and I have yet to "regulate" myself. Also, try sipping tea instead of cold stuff. I was so nauseated they had to remove the Fluid from my band and now I have little restriction. Use adult strength liquid Tylenol for the pain. Best wishes to you and Merry Christmas to all!!!
  3. Yes, but it is very hard!!! I have not gained anything but have not lost. I ate scrambled eggs yesterday. I know I'm not supposed to but they went down so easy. Now I feel sooooo guilty. What to do????

I, too, feel like I could eat a whole pizza! I wish I had some restriction here!!! It's getting old eating protein shakes, yogarts and creamed soups. Plus I've lost no weight since I was banded.
  5. Do you feel any restriction? I don't! But I have no fluid in my band? I emailed my doctor but he hasn't gotten back to me. I am very worried.

I have no fluid in my band either and feel no restriction. I just emailed my doc to see if I can get my fluid put back in. I'm so tired of being hungry. I mean the reason I had the band put in is so that the hunger part would improve. I can eat any mushie food, no problem. I have tried to stick with greek yogarts and stuff but yesterday I had chicken noodle soup...no problem!! It's starting to worry me. Sorry to ramble on but I don't know what to do. Any suggestion?
  7. Abby, My thoughts and paryers are with you!!! Good luck today!

I there any way you can cancel your trip? You might lose money on plane tickets, etc. but it sounds like it would be in your best interest to do the surgery on the 22nd. Just a suggestion. Hang in there. Don't get too discouraged. You will work it out some how.

Best wishes to those being banded this week. I am on my 4th day post op and doing great! I even had a hernia repaired and am still feeling wonderful. I took a long walk yesterday and only have a little soreness. I will say a prayer for all of you during the coming week. Good luck and soon you'll all be Baby Bandsters!!!

I, too, am doing the creamed soups and yogart (not in excess though). I think it's okay and won't hurt you. So many docs have different rules and I know of a lot of people who did as we are and they are just fine!! Don't worry about it. I decided that with this band I would eat until I'm satisfied and no more "diets". I'm just going with the flow here and doing fine.

I am eating applesauce and a little greek yogart here and there. I use the applesauce to take my crushed pills. The doc's office said to mix them with water but that tasted sooooooooo bad that I almost puked. So I tried the applesauce and it was better. I did have all the fluid removed from my band though due to nausea. It seems to be fine with me but everyone's different.

Okay, last night I was soooooooo tired I slept 10 hours straight through. When I woke up I couldn't believe it!!!! I feel much better but have little restriction. I can deal with the hunger although if I get too hungry I have some greek yogart. I know you're not supposed to but it's going down pretty good and I'm not over doing it by any means. I tried just doing the liquid Tylenol but ended up taking my pain meds after all. I am going to try to go as long as I can without them. Hope everyone else is doing okay now too. I really feel so much better now that I've had some sleep.

I am home now and well. Better now than I was in the hospital. I did gain 4 lbs. from the IV fluid. Has any one else experienced this? It freaked me out. The doctor's office called and I asked about it. They said that it's from the fluid. I hardly ate anything at the hospital. What's up with that?

Okay, I slept and have had some norishment. So, I feel and look better. My husband has been the best to me also. Everyone who was skeptical is now on board with it all. That helps a lot. All in all my surgery went well except for the hernia and the nausea. I am very glad to be home with all my comfort items. I have stayed on top of the nausea and pain with meds. I guess in that way I'm kind of a whimp! As I said before they had to take all the fluid out of my band and as a result I'm able to tolerate more food (liquids). But that's okay with me because I had planned on taking it slow any way. Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes. You guys are the best! I will keep posting to update you and am sorry if I repeat myself (it's the medicine...lol).

I'm home, although had a very rough time of it. I had a HUGE hernia that was repaired. The doctor said he had never seen a biger on! He even took pictures and gave me copies. So, I have actual pictures of my band. As a result I had a loooooooooooot of nausea! The doctor was impressive but the hospital staff was not as great. I don't think they were used to complications such as mine. I was only offered water and protein shakes. They wouldn't let me have apple juice or popsicles. I had to stay for two days. My IV slipped out and as a result I got no pain meds or nausea meds for 8 hours. My hand is the size of Kansas!!! I'm very glad to be home now with all the things I bought for the surgery and I'm much more comfortable. Because of all the nausea they removed all the fluid from my band too. All in all it was not pleasant. I don't want to ramble on here but wanted you all to know that I made it. Thanks to all for your well wishes and prayers. I will post when I can.

Well, I'm off to the hospital! Boy, am I thirsty and my surgery isn't until 12 noon. But they will start the IV at around 10:30. I'm starting to get a headache. But I'm keeping my trusty chapstick with me at all times...lol. Wish me luck and I'll post as soon as I can!!!
  18. Post as soon as you're able!! I'm so nervous! Will be thinking of you tomorrow. Best wishes and my prayers are with you!!!

  19. I saw your pictures. You are bold!!! I am not making a big deal about Christmas. My daugthers that live with me already know that. You should tell your relatives so they won't bother you about food. Best wishes!!!

  20. Just letting you know that I'll be thinking of you on Thursday. I'll be in the hospital (I'm overnight) but my prayers will be with you!

Tomorrow is my day!! The first day of the rest of my (long) life! After three I can only have clear liquids and after midnight nothing!! My husband is finally being supportive. I knew he'd come around!!! Any last words of wisdom?

    December Delights 2009

Well, if I haven't mentioned it I'm two sleeps away from my band. On Wed. I'll be banded. I will continue to update you regularly...lol. My doc says after 3 p.m. tomorrow to just have a light dinner...ie...soup and nothing after midnight. I have been on two shakes a day and then dinner. So, does that mean all liquids tomorrow? Or should I have a shake in the morning, lunch (like a sandwich) and then broth? Can the Soup have something in it...like chicken and noodles? I'm confused and don't want to end up not being able to sleep from hunger pains. If that's what I'm supposed to do, then I'll do it but need some guidance. What did ya'll do? Those out there banded...or those with similar instructions to mine for the day before surgery??? Inquiring minds would like to know....:confused:

Thanks to all for your well wishes and good thoughts. I am very anxious these days and just have 3 sleeps left. Oh! my I've said that already!!! I am dutifully preparing for my surgery and my husband is getting on board now. He is being more and more supportive as the big day draws near. Has anybody heard anything more about SlimFast? When will they by restocking the shelves. My doc prefers their Meal Replacement shake.
