  4. Hi Bandsters, I need some help!!! I have been banded since Sept 2009 and have lost 60lbs in 7 months then got pregnant. I gained back 22lbs during pregnancy and since having my baby Feb 1, 2011 have not lost a single pound. I have no restriction and can eat whatever I want and believe me I do!!! I can't seem to stop eating all the foods that we are not supposed to. How does one get back on the band diet?? I had a upper GI and they can't even find my band?!?! How is this even possible?? I'm wondering if it's beginning to erode? I have an appointment next week with my surgeon but I would at least like to get my eating under control and back on the band wagon before the appointment. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  5. Hi, I was banded on Sept 14, 2009 and have since lost 70lbs (within the first 6 mnths) I have lost NOTHING since then!!! Because of no movement on the scales i have noticed my portion sizes going up within the last few weeks and i've been making poor food choice decisions and can't seem to stop myself. It's like my body just super craves these salty/sweet foods and I have to have them!!!! I have 6.7cc in a 10cc band and have NO restriction at all...I can eat whatever I want and in whatever quantity. There is no band slippage or problems i'm just not getting restriction. My last fill was 3 weeks ago and i only notice i for a could of days after the fill then it's back to normal.... I'm so disappointed and frustrated with myself as I look at the changes in my body and DO NOT want to go back to the way I was before!! Help me how does one get back on track??

    September 2009 Band Date

Hi everyone, I was banded Sept 14, 2009 and I have lost 70lbs since then...HOWEVER, I lost all of that weight within the first 6 months and have lost absolutely nothing since then. I am very discouraged and although I haven't gained any weight I have begun eating the way i used to as I figure what's the point.... I love my band and what it has done for me I just don't know how to get back on track...I keep going for fills and i'm 6.7cc in a 10cc band and every time i get a fill it works for 3-5 days then nothing i have no restriction at all?!?! I ask the Dr. about this and he states it's not about restriction but satiety....well for me it's restriction...IF I COULD stop I would have before the band...therefore I have noticed what i'm eating not only has deteriorated but the amount as well! Any suggestions on how to get motivated and back on track??? I know I can start losing again IF i maintain my diet i'm just not sure how to stay motivated enuf to do this....:smile2:

    Question about Quantity

Elfie...They think i'm at my sweet spot because I can eat 1 cup of food and i'm not hungry at all until about 4 hours later. Although I can fit more in I don't have to to have that full feeling. They said they go by satiety not necessarily restriction...which kinda sucks as sometimes i think i eat too much because of not measuring... Thank you both for the tips :wink2:
  8. I was banded on Sept 24 and to date have lost 43lbs to date however this has slowed down dramatically over the past 3 weeks. I am currently at 6cc's in a 10cc band and I believe according to my dr's that i am at my sweet spot....However I can still eat more than a cup of food at times depending on what it is...I just don't! My question is does everyone always measure their food or just eyeball it? and if you do measure it what do you use just a regular measuring cup? or is there a set of scales that will measure? I hate my food mixing hehe I almost never measure and i'm wondering if this is the reason my weight loss has slowed down?? Thanks!

    Diabetes & Lab Band

Hi I was banded on Sept 24/09 so i'm a little over 3 weeks out and i'm type 2 diabetic. I was on a slow release insulin before surgery and i've lost a total of 22lbs and i'm completely off all my diabetic medications as of 6 days ago. My blood sugar readings both AC & PC are all within normal ranges. I eat mostly Protein and little carbs! Hope this helps
  12. Thanks for the suggestions!!! I tried both the Water and the bicycle and both worked!!! I don't know why i didn't just think to change focus...I was so stuck in focusing on the head hunger that I couldn't think past it. Thank you so much for the helpful advice.
  13. Hi out there!! I'm 12 days post op and feeling great however today my head hunger is really getting to me. I know i'm not physically hungry but my head is telling me I need to eat something...I've caught myself several times today reaching for food out of reflex and I have to tell myself...."Hey STOP! You're not actually hungry!!" How do we battle this head hunger?!?!?! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    3 days post operation

I was also banded on the 24th. Today has been my best day yet although I am still struggling with gas pain and indigestion. I think the indigestion is coming from not eating enough as I can get down about 10 teaspoons of liquid and then i'm really full....maybe that's why the extra gas pain?!?!
