Questions about protein shakes!

i think all protein shakes are the same, and if it the kind with whey protein in it then you can just get that at walmart for $15 thats what i did. my surgen center they have protein shakes made by then and they wanted us to buy them and they were $30 i told then i didnt have the money and they told me i can go to walmart to get one ( well the nurse told me) -
i dont know how much i lost yet i want to wait until the day before surgery so i can be surprised but its killing me to know...lol
my surgery is an out patient surgery i will only be there for a max of 5 hours he said. he told me that it will only take 30mins to put the band in and 2 hours to recover. and he gave me some pain meds to take for pain and dizzness. he told me not to do alot of throwing up cause i will knock the stiches out of place and dont do so much bending for the first 2months. and after surgery i have to be on liquids for 2weeks, mushy for 2weeks then i can start eating soild food after that....
so how did your appointment go today?

to behonest i went with a center call true results weight loss. its a center that does just lap band and i went with the doctor they had. -

yeah same here jello doenst count as clear liquid on my diet -
well this is my 7th day and i am starving...lol but i havent ate ANYTHING i do 3 protein shakes a day one in the moring afternoon and evening. i am very suprised at how well i am doing. i had my pre-op apptment yesterday and he just talked about the surgery. so how are you doing on your pre -op diet?

hey my surgery is feb 3 and i started my liquid diet on the 20th and i have been drinking protein shake in the morning and protien shake in the after noon with jello or yourt and protein shake at night. -
oh wow me and you are on the same journey. i started my diet on the 20th and my surgery will be on the 3rd of feb.!!!!!

wow your not that far from me. Well so far as the process it depends on what your insurace requires. My insurace required 4 months supvised diet. 2yrs of me being over weight ( i had to get that from my doctor) and a bmi over 35. So you would have to check with your insurace to see what they require. -

hey i am in GA as well and i also go to true results. i started my consutation in sept. 2009 and my ins. requirers 4 month supervise diet so my last appointment will be Dec. 17 from there they will send my paper work off to my ins. to get apporoved. its good to know some one in my home state and also some one that go to true results...i hope everything work out for you. -
i have athena and my last appointment will be in dec. and after that they will submit my information so i can get approved. but my surgeron said more than like i will have a Jan. date.

does anyone still diet while on the lap band, as in do you still take diet pills or do you still eat low fat and sugar free foods?

even before your preop diet.... was you trying to lose weight..did your doctor require you to lose wieght or did you not care. will it affect the decions of your insurance if you lost weight before the pre op diet?
