Actually you have made 5 posts talking about Dr. Paya. You talk about "other people sharing their stories" - how about yours? You are not credible. I was selfpay as well so I know the problems of running out of money. You started this off of a thread started in 7-06 so not sure what you are looking for in this forum.
-
thoughtidbethin - you are roming around this web site talking smack about Dr. Paya without telling us why. Every post you send never tells us any specifics. I am a patient of Dr. Paya as well as my sister and mom. You are the first person to EVER say negative things about him so SPEAK UP! We want to hear your story. If you can not substantiate your claims then you need to stop posting. Using scare tactics is juvenille.
-
You need to tell us your story rather than all this inuendo, thoughtidbethib. As you can see no one has responded to either this post or your other post anything negative. I had an enlarged pouch with Dr. Paya this year and he never suggested surgery. He was very simpathetic and simply did an unfill and told me to come back for another fluro in 4 weeks. Before you blast such a good doctor you need to tell us why.
-
Sorry I can't help you. Myself, my sister and my mom all have used Dr. Paya with fantastic results. Only problem - gotta buy new wardrobe. We have loved him and his staff.

The gas is not coming from your digestive tract. Gas-Ex will not work. The gas pains are coming from the CO2 used to expand your abdomen during the surgery. You need to walk, walk, walk and try moving your arms in circles. The gas will eventually disapate but, I can take a week or so. Drink lots of water! Good Luck.

Defilled, then refilled, but not working now!

Sounds like pouch dilation to me. I am going thru that right now. You need fluro to confirm. -
I'll reply even though this is an old post. Since you are already taking medication for your heart arrythmia you know how it works. Stress is the killer for those of us who get them. Your cardiologist should have warned that after surgery your body releases catecholemines which stress your body and heart which cause skipped beats. Since you already have a history you should just relax and let your body go back to normal. Took me about 3 weeks to go back to normal. Also you should have you potassium checked. Also, you should have your potassium checked. It often is lowed after WLS and can aggrivate skipped beats. Potassium supplement can be purchased over the counter so not a big expense if needed. Good Luck!

HELP.........Need M.D. in Los Angeles area
Lab Rat replied to lepez's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I was self-pay and paid $9000.00 to hospital and $6500.00 to Dr. Paya. But, his office will help you out with Care Credit. Can't say enough good things about him. Best $ I ever spent. I lost 95 lbs in 10 months. He was very encouraging and I stuck with the program. I'm 10 lbs from goal and he has been great every pound. -

Anyone been denied because your BMI was too high???
Lab Rat replied to musicalmomma's topic in Insurance & Financing
<p>My sister had a BMI of 51 and was told by her surgeon that she had to lose enough weight to get down to a BMI of 50 to be covered by insur. Good luck!</p> She lost the weight and got the surgery so we didn't have to appeal. -
Yes, there is a CPT code for EVERY medical procedure. This one is 43770. For fills the CPT code is 90772. Good luck!

Drove 2.5 Hours and FillUSA called to cancel
Lab Rat replied to TRANAM1955's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Marimaru - There are many options out there other than FillCenter. Don't know how far you are willing to go but, my doctor will see you for fills in West Hills www.surgithin.com . BTW he is fantastic! -
I really miss drinking carbonated drinks. My surgeon also says no coffee so, I gave up my morning coffee as well. My sister (who also has the band) still drinks her coffee though so, I'm not sure how important this point is. I figured out a way to eat bread. I make dark toast and I am able to eat it that way. Throw on a thin spread of PB&J and I'm in heaven!
-
If you can eat a whole can of ANYTHING you need a fill. Chips go down easy but not a whole can! Get the fill and try, try, try to stay away from temptation. Good Luck!!
-
Yep, it's your gallbladder. You need to go to your doctor ASAP.

Anyone looking for a super fill doctor in the San Fernando Valley? Dr. Paya (or Dr. Cutie as we call him) is available. He works out of West Hills Hospital and even does all his own fills. His staff is helpful and fast. Here is the link to his web site: http://www.surgithin.com/about.html banded 5-15-06 starting weight 259 current weight 172 - 02/17/2007 Dr. Paya
-
Really doubt it. Its not the meat its the bread. Try a burger with lettuce as the bun. I am 9 months post op and can eat toast. You could try a burger with toasted bread. I think that it would be too much food though. Start small! I miss hamburgers too but...well you know.

I paid cash in Los Angeles. $9000 to the hospital (outpatient) and $5600 to Dr. Paya. His bill includes all followup visits - FOREVER! I would pay it again and again for all the great attention and, of course, weight loss. Dr. Paya does all his own fills and because he is a general surgeon as well, he was able to take out my gallbladder last week (insurance covered).
-
Sounds more like gallstones than kidney stone. Especially if it is after eating.
-
I had sharp port pain for about 3 months post-op. Surgeon said that pain can and will happen for up to 5 months. Since they stitch right into the muscle if you injury that site you will feel pain until muscle site totally heals. Good luck just wait it out.

Please help - gallblader out yesterday
Lab Rat replied to Bostongurl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, I need pain meds. Lor-Tab 15ml every 4 hours. I spent the night in the hospital because my surgery was after 4 o'clock. I used the Mrphine pump about 20 time from 6pm until I left today at 11am. What's you pain level? I am having the most problems with gas. Walk, walk, walk. -
There is no quick solution. Walking, drink enough water and Gas-Ex are the answers.
