Well.....I've been waiting along time for this. Over a year! I am scheduled for Sept. 14th. Two days from now. I'm nervous and very excited. Had my last BIG meal tonight. complete with Fillet Mignon, baked potato, lots of bread with cheese fondue, several cokes, bananas foster for desert....Did I forget anything? I don't think so. I should be drinking 2 shakes a day, and instead I'm eating like I'll NEVER taste food again. It's kinda like a part of me is dying.....Weird, but that's how I feel. I'm really gonna miss most of this stuff. I LOVE good food. I've been walking 4 miles a day, and I think that makes me feel like I can eat anything......I should be thinking about my fatty liver. NOBODY but my doctor knows how much I weigh. Not my husband, kids, or parents. I have NEVER allowed a scale in the house! I think I'll get one ASAP! I want to track my progress.I will be on clear liquids for 2 weeks, then pureed food for 2 weeks after that. It seems like a long time to be eating jello and drinking broth, but I am committed. My friend tells me that it feels like you are starving to death and that the smell of food makes you want to cry!!! So I am preparing myself for the worst! I don't know how I'm going to cook dinner for my family?!?!?!?!Well, Good luck to myself and everyone else! I'll post more after my surgery.
