I get the same feeling sometimes, it's usually when I'm eating too fast or not chewing my food enough. Not waiting until I'm starving helps me eat slowly and I eat less. Drinking while eating... now I learned the hard way that eating and drinking at the same time is HORRIBLE. Not because it defeats the purpose of the band but because I ended up feeling HORRIBLE, I get stuck whenever I do this. I know it's really hard to wait 30 mins, but I just remind myself that it's not worth the pain of being stuck. & I also noticed that after a stuck episode I usually get really tight (for about 1-2 days), I'm guessing I get swollen. So if your getting stuck a lot, I'm guessing you get swollen as well and that's why you can't really eat no more than 3 bites. I usually stick to mushies for a while to allow it to heal (instead of making it worse by taking a chance and getting stuck again while already swollen). I hope my experiences help you out... :w00t: I was banded 12days after you! (if i read correctly lol )

Question about adding unflavored protein to FOOD
LeeSuh replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I wasn't too happy about the price and having to pay for shipping as well. LOL But I'm extremely picky...! LOL So I gave in... and I can't say I regret it. Worth the money in my case. I don't work for them or anything but they also sell their stuff at certain stores, maybe you can try to see if there's one near you? -
Question about adding unflavored protein to FOOD
LeeSuh replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Many people on this site really recommend the PURE Unflavored Protein powder on Bariatriceating. com Here's the link: PURE Unflavored Protein Isolate - 21 servings per container - perfect for Soup It took me a while to give in and try it, but I was really happy that I finally gave in and bought some. You can hardly taste it! It's way better than the flavored protein! Now... mixing the protein in with food/drink... i found out the hard way that it's important to first mix it in a small amount of Water before adding it to whatever it is your making! I usually mix it up in one of them bottles for Protein shakes with a little whisk in it... once all the chunks are gone I add it to whatever I want! You should definitely give it a try! -
LOL. now that's funny! :tt1: That house one is insane!

Hello everyone! I have a question about the psych evaluation. I'm trying to find a Dr to make an appointment for my psych evaluation, the first place I called told me the insurance would cover it but I would have to pay out-of-pocket for the "report" ($150). My question for you experienced bandsters that had to do the psych eval.... what's the process? Do I really need a report from the psych? I thought it was a yes/no kinda deal? Is the yes/no a "report" ? Did any of you have to pay an extra fee? Can some of you share your experiences as far as the cost of the evaluation? Please? I would ask my doctors office but because of the holiday they are closed today. Thanks guys!

Cigna and 6 month supervised diet
LeeSuh replied to thistime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I googled our PCP's name and office and everything checks out fine. We were even referred to him by the surgery office, so that leaves me some what at ease. Good looking out though! :smile2: HiMow: What route did you take for your 6 month diet? Monthly PCP visit only? -
Cigna and 6 month supervised diet
LeeSuh replied to thistime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I'm going to call for a 2nd time and make sure. I'll ask them to mail me the requirements, if possible. When I went with my boyfriend to his first appointment with the surgery Dr, they told us that we need to have proof of the diet and exercise as well as the monthly PCP visit! Can you believe that? So we joined the gym (LA Fitness), started attending WW and we are having the PCP fill out a sheet provided by the surgery office of everything we are doing. We have our next appointment on the 15th, this will be our 3rd PCP visit as well ! I thought attending WW was going to be less expensive than seeing a nutritionist, but it's about the same. I can't believe how expensive their monthly rate is, $40 a month for unlimited meetings and 1 weigh-in every week. I think I might stick it through with WW even if its not needed, I'm hoping that it will help for approval. Best of luck to you as well! :smile2: -
Cigna and 6 month supervised diet
LeeSuh replied to thistime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too have cigna... I started the 6 month diet in Nov. Cigna's policy says you can do weight watchers and I also called Cigna and they verified it for me (I had to double check ). I have been attending weight watchers weekly (wkly weigh-ins) and I have been visiting my PCP monthly. For those who have Cigna and did the 6 month diet... did any of you do the same thing that I'm currently doing? Do you know if Cigna will require me to submit the weekly point tracker that weight watchers has you fill out? I double checked they're requirements I feel like I'm doing everything they ask, but I'm still really scared that I'll by denied for not doing something right! :smile2: The wait time can be so overwhelming... I'm anxious... can you tell? -
Hi thank you for the kind words, my day has been pretty awesome so far, how about yours? I read your blog on the strawberry shake, I can't wait to try it in a couple of months... lol sounds yummy!

Hi guys! I've been reading around and haven't been able to find much information on Cigna PPO. This is my first post... not completely sure if I'm posting on the correct thread. Okay, open enrollment at work is coming up in Nov (09) and I would like to know what you guys would recommend as to what insurance would be better and/or easier; should I keep kaiser which seems to have a long wait time, or switch to Cigna in hopes of getting banded sooner? I'm pretty much aware already of the requirements for Kaiser HMO and how their approval works, I'm not so sure on Cigna PPO, is approval difficult? Any thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions? Experiences? Any and all information is greatly appreciated. Thanks! [i'm in Southern California.]
