My Name is Dawn, about 2 or 3 years ago I started looking into Lap Band, and actually went to first meeting, called my insurance company, ect. I went to my doctor at the time, and she said absolutely not, you need to find other means, and wanted me to go for a sleep study!, what? I have been battling weight my whole life, starting weight watchers when I was in 7th grade! so after my doctor told me that I just walked away... I thought ok, maybe its not right and I shouldn't do it. So my husband and I join weight watchers wow we did great I lost 25 lbs. only to gain it plus a little more. So I'm thinking ok this is how my life is going to be. we have a new doctor now, and I go in for a check up and she mentioned Lap Band to me, I told her my story and she says, No Lap Band is a tool, and if that's what you need I think you should use it. And that was the start of a whole new life for me. I had my surgery Aug. 17th 2009 and after a few rocky days, I am feeling great, and I am so grateful for Dr. Oteri for bringing it to my attention. Everyday is getting better and better.
