    Advice For Vacation?

First let me say in advance CONGRATULATIONS!! I have been banded for two and a half years and never regretted a day! RELAX AND NO WORRIES! now about the reunion... you should be feeling good by the time you go a little sore still but overall very good. I went back to a very physical job( on my feet for 12 hr shifts) at two weeks without any problems. I am not sure how far you are traveling or by what means but if you are traveling by car just take stops to get out and walk, move so you don't get sore. if you have problems right after surgery with lots of air, bloating, burping etc... walk ,walk, walk... it really does help move the air through and you will bounce back quicker. I have 3 children so I had no choice but to get moving! you should not be puking at all... none! just really plan your meals while you are there. you will be on full liquids and your nutrionist at your bariatric center will give you a whole list of choices. Explain to them about your trip and I'm sure they will help you work out the best things to pack. lots of soup and Protein, protein, protein! I predict you will have a great time just be cautious!

    Changes Over Time?

Kris150... sounds very similar to my experience...yuk! Hopefully your doctor will be able to help you. I do have to say that after my defill I felt so much better and could get out of the mindset of dreading the next meal, being hungry, and eating whatever I thought would go down easy. so that being said I have gained a few pounds back but I am feeling better and am hoping to get out and move more with the summer coming to OHIO finally! I had my band checked under flouroscopy and the radiologist felt like everything looked fine, dye moved through good, my pouch was the right size and band was in right place. so that is all good news but why I was having so many issues is still a mystery? now I am scheduled to go back and refill slowly. wish you well and hope it get resolved quickly! hopefully if you need a defill he can refer you to someone that can do it where you are at now. I know here in the states most of the emergency departments are trained to defill, especially if the hospital has a bariatric program that does band surgery. let us know how you are doing.

Not Sure What Is Going On???

I agree I think you just had something stuck and then got irritation, (which can be a very vicious cycle) I would go back to your surgeon you may need a little defill you will feel better almost instantly and then slowly work you way back to more dense food. I had this happen before too. my problem now is that over the last month i kept getting food stuck and got irritated to the point i was vomiting daily and everything was rough going down. so I went back to my dr and she defilled me quite a bit and wants me to have an upper GI for slippage.I feel better now that she defilled but now worrried about eating more and gaining pounds! I am two years out so wondering why now I am having issues?? anyone with tips?

    Changes Over Time?

I too am about 2 years out and I just had a very similar experience. went back to my surgeon and she also defilled me. I had been doing great until recently,I was vomiting daily and everything was rough going down or stuck easily. Going for an upper GI soon to see if I had a slippage. Just worried about eating more now that there is less restriction and after 3 weeks of not eating well. I too have had more heartburn not to the degree that you have. really doesn't matter what I eat or how much I have eaten I will get heartburn. Good luck hope you get straightened out. Anyone with any insights?
