I went to a lapband seminar on 9/8/09 with my husband.  I am very interested in having this procedure done so that I can improve my quality of life and prevent many of the diseases associated from being extremely obese.  Currently I do not suffer from any medical issues (i.e. hypertension, diabetis, sleep apnea, etc.) caused by my obesity, but I do have knee pain and back pain.  I do suffer from infertility, but it is not caused by my weight (I could weigh only 130 pounds and I'd still have this issue).I am currently researching funding options as my insurance excludes surgery for weight loss.  I am also researching personal stories and experiences so that I can see what people like me have actually gone through, not just the testimonials offered by the doctor.I hope I can gain a lot of knowledge and support from this group, and perhaps even offer some support once I have my surgery, which I'm hoping will be towards the end of this year (2009).
