I've been overweight my entire life and I've tried one diet after another (I've even tried hypnotism) but nothing worked for long. When I was attending graduate school I began working out regularly and ended up losing 50 pounds getting my weight down to 270ish but I couldn't get past that point for the life of me and I eventually got discouraged to the point that I gave up working out. I gained the 50 pounds back and then some and at my heaviest (about 6 months ago) I was 360. I'm a 23 year old girl who just graduated from graduate school and I weighed 360 pounds. I decided this was no way to spend the "prime" of my life. After hours of research and lengthy discussions with my mom and my boyfriend I decided to look into weight loss surgery. I chose lap band because of the adjustable factor and because it seemed like the safest option. I saved up money and chose a surgeon and hospital in Monterrey, Mexico (I didn't have time or patience to wait for insurance to reject me again) and I had my surgery on May 19th, 2009. I immediately lost 12 pounds and had my first fill on July 24th, 1cc. I began working with a personal trainer the second week of July as well with hopes that as I lost weight it wouldn't turn to flab. So I'm currently stuck between 340 and 342. I'm planning to get another fill soon and of course I want to lose more weight. I want to marry my boyfriend in a gorgeous gown, I want to have children and not worry about being obese and pregnant, I want to travel without having to get a seat-belt extender, etc, etc. I want to be proud of my body and I want to be healthy.
