I have been lurking around here for a month deciding if this is for me.  Over the last 12 years I've gained 75 lbs and have tried every diet in every book.  I lose weight and gain back twice as much. I made an appointment last week to see my primary, checked to see if insurance covers it, and even looked up Dr. Milton Owens for my doctor for my primary to refer me to when approved.  I appreciate everyone who has written, both good and bad, as I need the full story.  It's not an easy decision, to drastically change my life like this and I think my family and friends may not be so supportive.  It's nice to have people who know how desperate I feel on this roller coaster.  I'm going to start the diet tomorrow.Thanks again for all of your thoughtful advice.  I'll keep you posted!
