congrats ladies. There are alot of post up here that you can catch up on. I know I posted alot of questions that I got answeres to. It's really cool that others can help you out.

well I had my surgery on 17th and for some reason I felt like I should have been fine by now and back to work but since I am not its kinda getting frustrating. I'm thinking of calling in and just skippig the rest of this week so that I can concentrate of getting better and not how soon can I get to work. I'm glad you are doing well. you don't have any pain or bloating anymore? that's great. Exercise for me. I never thought that I would miss exercise but I do.

YES!! I thought straws were better! Okay. I'm off straws. Ladies if you have info send it my way as you can tell I know little to nothing.:bored:

I think I'll stop eating them and hope i haven't envoked any damage. I just don't know all the specifics no matter how much I try.:biggrin: I know the shakes are giving me gas. It's 456am and I am up because I'm not feeling well. I don't know what else to do about it.

Okay. Well thanks ladies I appreciate the comments. The pain got bad enough to where I took the vicodin so now I'm back to la la land. I tried. I decided NOT to go to work tomorrow. I may call out all week just to be safe. I am going to take it one day at a time. I can feel baby hunger pains sometimes but I think to day was the most I 've eaten/drank. i can't tell when I'm hungry but since i'm not having real hunger pains i'm not eating much i'm just drinking lots of water. It's amazing how it's different strokes for different folks. I spoke to my doc's nurse and she claims to have known people that went back to work the next day. For whatever reasons I just don't believe it. It almost seems impossible. someone was telling me that if youve had a kid its a little easier. Well I don't have any kids. First surgery here. All new experience for me and my doc didn't tell me any breathing exercises to do. What are they? confliciting info: Can you eat creamy soups right now? I've had those campbells drinkable soups so I didn't think there was a problem.

I was thinking of going to work becuase I know you all have heard the claim of being able to go to work the next day. I am so thankful for you all. I know that I am not being crazy when I say I can't do it. I'm still have a little pain but nothing that merit the pain pills. I feel exhausted sometimes. I am a teacher assistant. I work with kids all day. And do any and everything a teacher needs done. I think I will wait til about thrusday. I might even part-time it then.

Questions: Had surgery on the 17th. I am trying to get back to work but I am still feeling uncomfortable. What type of pain meds are you all on AFTER you stop taking the he heavy stuff like viocodin I do ALOT of walking. I feel weak afterwards. Do you all recommend work yet. Lastly, Gas is kicking my butt. I'm doing gas X. When was your first BM after surgery. I haven't had one.

So question for those of you who have been banded... can any of you feel your port? I can mine, and I wasn't expecting this. I thought it was going to be deeper in. It's like my little buddy, and I keep touching it to see if it's real - hahaha. The other strange part is that part of my belly is numb, so I can put ice on my port site and not feel it... weird. Other than that, every chance I get to walk, I do! it's making me feel better. I couldn't hardly stand for several hours after I awoke from surgery, that general anaesthesia kicked my hind end... that was worse than anything else for me. everybody reacts differently to that, instead of pain meds, I was asking for more anti-nausea meds (ok, some pain meds too) I was glad my insurance required an overnight stay, there is no way I'd have gone home feeling like I did. I kept asking my doc when the anaesthesia would wear off. She kept saying in just a little while. It made me feel impaired and without control of myself. thye were nice and kept assuring me. sometimes I can feel the port other times I can't. Mostly I try not to cause I don't like the way it feels and I get paranoid thinking that it moved.

gatorgirl and bendy how are you ladies making out. Today is the first day that I have had gas. I didn't have any pain so I stopped taking pain meds but the gas is now hurting me. Should I take pain meds for that. This morning I also woke so weak I needed help to go to the bathroom. I feel better now. I contribute that to not having enough fluids. Today I can finally have something other than water. I had a protein shake. Well a few swallows. Its still on the table looking at me. Everybody tell me how your doing. I like to know what everyone else is experincing.

I have 5 myself. why do they need so many I wonder. today I feel like a little indegested. Not nauseated but like something is caught in my throat and I can't get it to burp our. this is normal or average correct??

Well I am NOT self pay and I am an outpatient person. 5-6 hours with no complications prayfully.

Are you sure?? During my process, it had to be for 6 months. I went to the doctor every month. took some nutritional classes (20 mins). My doctor basically said to follow nutritional guidelines and DON'T GAIN WEIGHT. So I'm wondering if your process of 6 months is the same as my 6 months of "dieting". During the 6 mths I only loss 5 pounds. It's all about paper work make sure you say you are following all guidelines. the 6 months helps you get used to things that may be given up.

Aw man Hmarko, why didn't you tell me before?:sad: I am all liquids today and tomorrow now I wonder if that is enough time to clear my glycogen out of the system.

I lost 10lbs and I really want to be down 15. If it wasn't for that stupid last meal I would have made my goal so for all listening just skip the last meal. My doctor didn't put me on all liquids but I am on it for the last 2 days. I am making sure everything is okay.

I've never had any surgery either! I've been looking at the sticky of others operation. Most of them sound about the same so I calm down a little then the one in a million story pops up and scares me to death. The closer it gets the more frighten I become. I am praying I don't get in there and become to scary. Let me know how it turns out for you.:tongue2:
