    Let's be realistic, folks~

I agree with part of your post.....but you have to remember not everyone here has the same motivation for losing weight. My original goal was to lose enough to get pregnant. Now that I have lost 96 pounds I like looking good. What does it matter what reason someone has for losing weight, as long as they lose weight. Btw I am VAIN!!!!! Lol I cat call myself when I pass by a mirror! Lmao So what! You know what else I like? I like that I can play with my 6 year old for more than 10 minutes! I like that I wear a size 12 instead of a 22! I like that I can bend over and paint my toenails! Don't have to shop at Lane Bryant! No longer the biggest girl at our military Christmas party! Oh and I love the scale now! My point is we all have different reasons for losing weight and you cant fit us all in the same box.
  6. It will be 2 years come september for me. Lost 90 pounds Nope have yet to reach goal weight I get very small fills, for the first year I went once a month. Now I go every six weeks. I can eat just about anything, but I tend to stay away from bread and Pasta. I have never followed the drinking rule. Yes still have my band. I walk/jog. I eat a cup maybe a little more just depends. I don't like seeing that number on the scale go up, thats what makes me exercise. I eat junk on occasion otherwise I would feel deprived and binge. Exercise can be 30 min or 2 hours just depends. Surgery for TT eh I will wait and see. So far im not bothered by it. No protien drinks I get plenty of protien from my meals. I'm still losing. I see my nurse once every 6 weeks. You said you hadnt gotten a fill since August? You should def go and talk to the doc or nurse see if they can get you back on track. You are not a failure and dont beat yourself down. Sometimes it takes a little longer before you can get into the groove of things. Best wishes
  7. Hey Jenn! My hubby is stationed in good ole Groton, ct! Not ideal but making it work. How has your experience been with the band?

  8. 6 pounds is enough to make a difference. Thats usually how it goes for me. Once I loose 6 to 8 pounds my restriction level decreases. I go in every 6 weeks for very small fills. Seems to work well for me.
  9. Navy wife here, my understanding is Doc's don't like to operate on bands done by other docs. I don't think you would have a problem finding a new Doc for fills. Also there are way more good stories at military clinics, hospitals, ect but the "bad" ones make for "good" stories in the news.

    Lost my Ring!

Please don't be like me! After losing weight my wedding ring got loser and loser and I ignored it. Then yesterday while out shopping I had a feeling of dread as I looked at my hand and my ring was gone! I am devastated! So please, please, please get your rings reduced or spacers!!!!
  11. hey long time no talk!!! How are you!?!?

  12. It sounds like nothing will convince you to get the band, but it's not for everyone. Thats ok. Will power plays a big part in this. My will power never lasted that long on regular ordinary diets. I had never lost more than 30 pounds by myself and I always gained it back. Now a year and a half after banding I am down 87 pounds and havent gained any back. It may sound like snake oil to you, but its a wonderful, awesome gift to me. Best wishes

    Weight Watchers

If you like their point system do it. If not count your calories. I count calories but I have a friend who does WW. I sometimes eat what she does with no problem. You just have to figure out whats right for you.

    I hate Chocolate!

Different strokes I reckon! I am not a religous person so I make Easter what I want. And for me no candy in large amounts in the house. I don't eat eggs, nor my daughter so we don't have much left after that. Sure is fun watching her eyes light up! Lol
