The world is not filled with rainbows and butterflies and neither is this site. So what! SOME people on this site are assholes, some are whiners, some are nice, and SOME offer really great advice! Just like everyday life, you take the good with the bad!

I was told last year I was approved for surgery via Tricare & today not sure?
jenn79co replied to mmbell's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have Tricare Prime everything was covered and fills also. But refferals are very important. Like the above person said you need to go to your PCM and get the ball rolling. Nothing gets done without it. -
Sorry you had a bad experiance with the band. But you really don't have all the answers and some of us have had a great experiance with the band. So maybe, just maybe some of us on here can give great advice.

What am I doing wrong!!?
jenn79co replied to Amanda-7/17/10's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with Betsy! Get off the frozen meals, and quit "cheating" every weekend! -
How long till you got good restriction??
jenn79co replied to Nicole74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a year out and still don't have good restriction. Well when I get a fill I usually have good restriction for about a week and a half. I still have been losing weight, but it's because I am eating right and exercising. Don't wait on a good restriction like I did. Even with the band you still have to do the work. -
Is salad a slider food?
jenn79co replied to ledgins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some people might say yes, but I say no it's not a slider food. I usually have a salad at lunch and stay full until dinner. -
How do you work through a plateau?
jenn79co replied to rkwilliams1013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stalled 2 weeks ago and it made me so mad! I thought geez I walk 4 miles a day and eat right, so what am I doing wrong!? Well turned out all I needed to do was up my workout a little. I started a little jogging during my walk and the first day I did I dropped a pound. So yeah just increase your workout a little. -
how many days a week do YOU workout?
jenn79co replied to Erin18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I walk/jog 4 miles 5 to 6 days a week. I had surgery a year ago today. For the first 10 months I just sat on my butt and lost about 25 pounds. I was not happy with myself for being soooooo lazy! So the first of August I really kicked up my exercise. I have lost an additional 23 pounds. I have come to realize I didn't choose Lap Band just to get skinny, but I want to be all around healthy and happy! My motivation is seeing that scale move down and feeling my clothes getting bigger. Also I sleep so much better now. Because I am actually tired and worn out! -
You ever got food stuck in the passage way?
jenn79co replied to BobBigBoy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL You don't have to worry about "making yourself puke." If you ever do get truly stuck it will come up on it's own. Fun stuff! -
I had my 3rd fill Wednesday and wow what a difference from the first 2! With the first 2 I had very little restriction and now I have great restriction! I ate all but 2 bites of my lean cuisine yesterday at lunch, and then we went to a chinese buffet for dinner. (I know, I know it's the devil!) But I maybe ate about half a cup of food before I was full! I was so tickled, I used to tear me up some Chinese food. Maybe I am pulling out of Bandster Hell! lol:thumbup:

Hi, I have lost 30 pounds since Sept. 29th. It was slow going the past couple of month's, but I didn't get frustrated because I knew at some point I would have good restriction. Just reading other post's on here and what other people had been through helped a lot. I am also a firm believer in it took me 20 years to put the weight on, it's not gonna come off over night. So all and all I feel pretty good about where I am now.

How many pounds have you guys lost in your first 2 weeks after surgery
jenn79co replied to iHaveh0pe3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Get to pick my band, but not sure which brand to go with. Help!
jenn79co replied to abbylamb's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I let my Doc decide. We discussed it before surgery and he said he usually does 50/50. He said there is really no difference in the way they work they just look a little different. Day of my surgery I still had no idea what band I was getting. When I woke up I asked and I had the Lap Band. That was 9/29 and I have lost 24 pounds so far. -

jenn79co replied to tt1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
HA my PCM also said he did not think I would qualify! I was approved through tricare yesterday! I met the 200% requirement and I had no co's. Your hieght and weight and co's should get you approved. But good luck! -
WOOHOO!!!! I am probably about as happy as you are! I have tricare and also got APPROVED today!!!!! I was worried but I met the 200% requirement barely! Yeah I am so happy for you and me both!

Tricare Approval or Denial??
jenn79co replied to JamieNP's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I thought I was a patient person but this wait is testing me! My Dr.'s office sent everything to tricare last Thursday and here I am still waiting! I sent an email to my insurance advocate and she said she should find out soon. Uhhggggg! I thought for sure I would find out if I was approved or denied for the band by now. -
hoping triwest will approve my app.
jenn79co replied to dwilkienson's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My surgeon said once I get approval the process goes along pretty quickly. But I think they are all different. -
hoping triwest will approve my app.
jenn79co replied to dwilkienson's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I hope everything goes well for you! I have TriSouth and I am not so patiently waiting for Approval also. I also meet the 200% requirement. My Surgeons office submitted all the paperwork last Thursday, and this wait is torture! I am so excited and nervous! When I went to my PCM for the initial referral I wondered why it had taken so long for tricare to approve. After 2 and a half weeks of waiting I called my PCP and turns out they had not sent it in! Once we got everything figured out they sent it and it was approved in a couple of days. So you might want to double check with your PCM to make sure they sent it to tricare.
