  2. Happy 47th Birthday Haku!

  3. 2 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 2nd Anniversary Haku!

  4. Hiya, Haku!

I'm in west texas, too. Hubby is retired Navy and I'm just starting to look into WLS for myself. Dr. Warnock is most likely who I will go to as I live 2 hours south of Wichita Falls. DON'T want to drive to DFW!!! My oldest sister just had her Lapband done three weeks ago in Oklahoma, where she lives.

  5. Must have been a different US Army than the one i deployed with. I did 23 year an retired, and the VA has rated my 90% disabled. 30% of the rating is for PTSD from the war. Thanks for the Luck. I out, good by.
  6. I did not get mad, I stated my opinion and you all can't haddle it. You all are anti RNY because this is a band forum. So please if you don't anything to add about the original topic, please shut the F up. Still not mad, just my military training. I don't think you wish me luck, plus I don't need it, just the skill of my surgeon. What you lose with your band 35 pounds in a year, Please, that is a failure.
  7. I think the comment was nasty and mean. You can all step away from the statement an cover it up, but I think it stinks/speaks for itself. The only thing you can speak from is what you have, which is lap band. I was hoping to get folks of both proceedures.
  8. does not matter if you respond, I called my Dr and switch my surgery from Lap Band to Gastric bypass.
  9. I am 5' 10 and weigh 309. I was not always this big, I weighed 210 in 2004, and that use to be my biggest ever. Anyway I am thinking of going for the lap band, is the band worth it? I was leaning toward the lap band, but now am thinking more of going with the Gastric Bypass RNY. Now that you all had your bands remove what are your thought on my choice. Should I get the Lap band or go with the RNY? My insurance on pays for Lap Band or RNY. I have been approve for one or the other I just got to pick one.

    RNY or Lap Band

I already did all that an I am on my pre op diet for the lap band. I am just getting on the fence and want to may sure I am making the right choice.
  11. My insurance will pay for RNY or Lap Band only. Which should I get? I a man about 305 pounds and 5'10.
  12. I really want the Gastric sleeve surgery, but there is not code for it yet. My insurance will only pay for bypass or the band. So I figure I will get the band if it don't work out I will go for the sleeve at that time. My insurance said that the sleeve is to be approved and have its own code in 2010.
  13. I got the impression that the Dr made more money from the RYN. Because he does 2 surgeries at once. He takes out your galbladder at the same time. He said 45 minutes for both surgeries, but RNY better. For who is RNY better? He just said you lose weight more quickly, well for me it not all about the weight. I am a whole person not just a number.
  14. They don't do any WLS in San Angelo, I am going to Dr. Kenneth R Warnock 6 Eureka Circle Wichita Falls, TX 76308 Recommended by my PCM.
  15. Hi, my name is Chad I am from San Angelo Tx. I am on the pre op diet but will not know the exact date of lap band surgery until Tuesday after labor day. The Doc says that it will be toward the end of Sept. I had my pre op visit 2 days ago all is good and insurance will pay. The doc really wanted me to get the gastric bypass. I am 5'10 and weigh 308. In 2003 I weighed 190 pounds. I did not start gaining all this weight until middle of 2004 after a heart problem and the doc put me on coreg. I am off that coreg stuff now and fat. Anyway I told the Doc that " I did not want to rewire the plumbing that god made, I just want to squeeze it a little bit. He did not think it was funny, but it was my way to tell him I am getting the lap band and not his gastric bypass. Sorry for rambling on good to be here.
