Having a revision done from band to RNY. I've had the band for 3 yrs and lost a good amt of weight initially. As I started to plateau I started having MAJOR acid reflux, I would have the band adjusted constantly and nothing seemed to help. Completely emptied the band once, tried again to fill to a livel that wouldn't cause the reflux, and could never find that spot. The band has been empty for 6 months now, still causing major reflux which has caused my esophogus to erode... I was very iffy on the RNY, I thought with my height and weight it would be too invasive, but after meeting with my dr several times to discuss my options I've been told that bypass is known to cure reflux 95% of the time. I now have a surgery date set for Jan 14, 2013, I'm scared to death... but PRAYING that I am in that 95%!!
