    Never Again...

There is so much pressure about losing weight after the band. We think we are going to drop pounds just like that, but don't expect it. Just appreciate it when it happens. Let the stress go, and forget that you have the band. Just eat slow and let it do the job. You are doing fantastic.
  2. Well my surgery fell through for October, but now that I have a surgeon that will stick around post op. I am glad I made the decision to change. I was told that I have to follow up every 4-6 wks for one year. I guess that is good so it will keep me on the straight and narrow. I was doing so well with the pre-op diet, but then when everything fell through, I gained back about 2-3 lbs. You know, it was like riding a roller coaster. climbing up the hill for that big thrilling drop, but instead of the plunge, the car just went straight. What a disappointment.
  3. Get this everybody! I was told that my surgery is October 6th. I started the liquid diet and one week into it I find out....... My surgeon, Dr. Iqbal, is moving to Miami the first of the year. Thanks Doc for telling me! I also called my insurance company today to find out what I have to do to transfer to another doctor and they have no record of the doctor sending in for authorization for the procedure. Holy Crap! One week from surgery and the sky just fell in on me! Now what? I don't know. I had my FMLA already approved. I finished out my 6 months, psych exam, UN-FREAKIN-BELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!! BY THE WAY, DR. IQBAL, IS FROM PT. CHARLOTTE, FLORIDA FOR ALL YOU BANDSTERS PLANNING TO HAVE HIM DO YOUR SURGERY!

    Never Again...

I have had the worst day! Here I am just finishing up on my first week of my liquid diet. Lo and behold, I find out my surgeon, Dr. Iqbal, has decided that he is picking up and moving to Miami the first of the year. Well, I flipped! I want someone who is going to stick around and not leave me high and dry after my surgery. He didn't even bother to tell me that he was going. I was scheduled October 6th to be banded. Now I have to find another surgeon. What a bunch of unethical crap!

    Never Again...

It's so nice to hear success stories when so many have been trying to talk me out of the surgery. Thanks:thumbup:
  6. Hi, I am due to be banded October 6th. I am on my liquid diet. I thought it would be harder than this, but it's not so bad. I am eating cream soups, sugar free jello and pudding, Sugar free fudgecicles, apple sauce, and light yogurt. I am putting unjury in my soups. This helps make them a little more filling and it actually makes them taste creamier. I use the unflavored one. I even make ice coffee with skim milk, unjury, and equal. Not bad at all. :seeya: I have already lost 6 lbs. Good luck to you, and remember. This is the beginning of your new life. No one said it is going to be easy, but just never give up. Dig those heals in and you can do anything you put your mind to.
  7. Day 5. Going strong. I get a little hungry here and there, and I immediately get a bowl of Soup with the Protein Powder mixed in. It helps alot. I can't believe I am doing it. I am determined not to fail! This is the beginning of my new life, and I can't wait to start enjoying the new me. You know, the unflavored unjury is the best. I can put it in anything, and it even makes the Soups taste better....much creamier.
  8. Well, today I started my 2 week liquid diet. :smile2: I sure hope I can make it without cheating. I just have to be determined. We'll see how I am in a few days. All I know is that I got through day 1. :bored: 13 days left.

    Never Again...

WoooooHoooo! :cursing: I just got my Surgery date. It is October 6th, 2009. Wow, it really hit home today. The thought of that liquid diet prior to surgery, and I guess after too. It kind of confuses me when the dietitian says, "you can do anything for 2 weeks." It seems longer than 2 weeks when I read all the paperwork. The post op diet looks like liquids only too. I guess my never never again is: I will never again feel like crying when I go buy clothes. I stand in front of the mirror in the dressing room looking at all my fat hanging off my body. SO DISGUSTING! I end up putting so many things back because I am so upset with myself. I get frustrated and upset and what do I do.....I go eat.

No problem at all. I can't wait to share my weight loss accomplishments with everyone here. I hope your dreams come true and you get the band soon.

    Never Again...

Haven't had it yet. I am just apprehensive. Just afraid of going through so much. People always watching how well you are doing. Too much pressure. LOL I know once I start losing, I will feel better about it. Thanks. I appreciate the great advice.

    Never Again...

Thanks, I needed that kick in the butt. Sometimes, I just think that everyone is judging me. I guess they are, but it's the little innuendos that hurt so much. Even my medical doctor reminded me again today that this is a lifestyle change. I feel like I can't live up to that big change.
  13. Hello everyone, I just found this site tonight. I am due for the procedure in October. I am very nervous about it. I hope this works and I don't disappoint myself, my husband, or anyone else. Well, just wanted to say hi and I look forward to getting to know you all.
  14. Hi Liz, Really weird the way mine happened. I went to the surgeon first and he told me to get the records from my primary that I have been on a 6 month weight management program. So I have been doing that and now I am seeing the surgeon and primary for the 6th month. Then it gets sent in to bcbs ppo for approval. Hopefully, all systems go Houston, and take off will be scheduled for October some time.

    Lost Too Much Weight

I was told that by my surgeon too. Don't lose too much or you will get disqualified. But, if you are doing so good, and you feel great! Keep doing what you are doing. In a year if it doesn't work, then you can go back to your doctor and try again. It is all about getting the weight off- not how it comes off. Great job! You can do it!

    Never Again...

I am just about to have my 6th month visit. I have jumped through most of the hoops, but I have to wait for insurance approval. I feel really nervous. I guess that is normal. I don't want to hope for too much fearing that my attempts at weight loss will be crushed again. You know that scenario, lose 3 lb. and gain 5 lb. yo-yo. Well that's what I am afraid of. I can just hear the "I told you so" coming from my husband  and family. For them to tell me that I went through all this and spent all this money for nothing!:smile2: Deep breath. This too shall pass.
