32 French, "tight sleeve"
thinoneday replied to Globetrotter's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yup i have the 32F boughie. . . it works pretty well. . .no problems yet and I'm 5 months out. . . good luck -
As some of you know we lost our dog about 3 years to our bylaw of No Bite Tolerance. He bite a woman who hit him and he had to be put down. . .it was the most horrible trauma anyone could inflict on me. . .I have never replaced him with another cause he was like the son i never had and I could never replace my own child. . but anyhow, this past weekend my girlfriends came over to visit from houston and they brought their german shepherd. . well did my husband and I ever have our "Blaza" fix! It was nice to have her in the house and she was just like our Blaza. . but after the weekend, we came to the final realization that we would never again have another dog. . . the death of an animal is very traumatic and we love our pets so much, sometimes more then our own families, I could never do it again. . . so for now I have a fish tank full of fish and when they die, oh well, just net them out and flip em into the commode! hehehe . . .

I'm scared to tell anyone I'm doing this
thinoneday replied to cactusmom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I told everyone who would listen! Even my crazy weirded out mother who has me dead and buried already! hehehe. . . in the beginning it's different (before the surgery) then I didn't tell anyone except my husband and daughter. . . they needed to know. . .the reason i didn't was because of the "advice" people think they can give you. . . very very negative. . . but after the surgery, heck it was done already and there is totally NO turning back, so whatever. . . those who did the "you could have done it on your own" got the "really, that is why I was so thin in the first place right" lecture right back from me. . . that usually shut them up. . .now i'm 5 months out and it's boring to talk about it, so when people who don't know i've had the surgery say "wow you've lost alot of weight, how did you do it" I just say "the normal way how else" and leave it at that. . . I still see myself as a very heavy person, my best friends, who know about the WLS, say "your head hasn't caught up with your body yet" . . .but the lectures do eventually stop and people carry on with their lives, it doesn't go on for ever I promise. . . just in the beginning before surgery i wouldn't tell too many folks, after that who cares! Good luck and your going to do just fine! -

What's going on? Scale is going in the other direction
thinoneday replied to Bevanne's topic in The Lounge
Ahhh yes the good old climbing up the scale thing. . .me too, I was doing really well and guess what? the heat in Texas started and I started to swell and retain tons of fluids even on my diaretics (lasix and amiloride) I thought at first it was because I've been grazing here and there, but nope it was the heat. . . so if you are susceptible to gaining Water weight during the hot seasons, this could possibly be the answer. . .don't worry, just cause we're gaining some weight isn't the end of it, just look how far we have come! Wow, I'm ok with some weight gain. . .at least I'm not 350 anymore! Good luck! -
Here we are doing the drastic measure to help us lose weight, and can you believe there is Donna Simpson trying to become the heaviest woman on earth! (its one the yahoo news page) She consumes 12,000 calories a day! At this point the woman weighs 600 lbs. . her own family supports this AND people pay a website to watch her eat! Now that is a real sicko! And I thought Octowoman was a sicko! Donna has her definately beat!!!!!!!!! Just had to vent this one!

So, one day you look in the mirror post-op, and you notice you're LOSING WEIGHT!
thinoneday replied to pistolpete's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
HA! I'm still waiting for that day! I feel i still look the same after losing about 110 lbs! Go figure? -
:w00t::w00t:how i can relate to that story! I used to have such problems with the booby squisher thingy. . . I used to be a 58FFF and after i had my breast reduction (14 lbs off each boob!) I felt so normal. . . then after i had my wls and have lost a gob of weight off to the booby squisher i went! Now they have problems getting the boob into the squisher, i am the 6 foot amazon godess and most of my techs are these tiny short can't reach nothing women. . .so there i am contorting into all sort of shapes! It's so funny sometimes. . . but boy am i ever glad i chopped those puppies off . . . i still wear a 40D but like my daughter says "mom you don't own boobs!" Silly girl!

recovery time and unique circumstances
thinoneday replied to Globetrotter's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well this is my experience only. . .remember EVERY body is different and some require more rest and healing time then others. . . but I was up and running the halls 6 hours after my surgery and fully recovered within 1 week (my experience), that doesn't mean you'll do the same. . . if you have other surgeries, take how you recovered from them about the same way. . .this was my 18th major surgery and I have learned over time how to adjust to pains and aches and how to move, get up and so on. . so this was a total breeze for me. . .the lady next door to me in the hospital was not going to move if her life depended on it. . . she just laid there moaning and groaning and having her family members cater to her in every way postion. . . the 3 days i was hospitalized she never once got up. . . so you see we are all different. . . good luck and all the best with your surgery! -

wanted to introduce myself
thinoneday replied to citizenwill's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
HI! And welcome! you'll love this forum, lots of information and advice and before you know it you'll be helping newbies of all kinds too! Nerves are normal you know and as you can see you aren't the only one having this done, tons of us have done it and are here to help you out. . . just remember this, having the sleeve surgery might cause you to be a bundle of nerves, but it's better then major obesity right? This was my 18th major surgery. . I did just fine, main thing is to walk as soon as possible to help alleviate the gas pains. . . and to sip your fluids, otherwise it'll take a bit of getting used to, your going to have to rethink how to eat and drink, you may not love your sleeve right away but then who does really. . . but once you see those pounds melting away (you have to help of course) you will be happy you did this. . . you'll be ok just like the rest of us and we are here for you all the way! Good luck! -
Wow, what an excellent job you are doing! You are so motivated! That is really good! Keep up the excellent work! I started off as a heavy weight too, highest was 350 lbs. . . this morning i weigh 238. . . I'm getting there, I would love to be at least 200 or 190 by Christmas time. . . hehehe wish me luck! . . .

Hahahaha Swiftflow, you are so right. . .I have a darn time right now doing a workout, never mind 4-8 hours a day. . . must share a funny though, started water aerobics yesterday and got into that pool thinking I looked pretty good in my one piece, ha! got in there started bouncing and so did all the loose skin! every jump i made, so did that loose stomach skin, floating all over the place in that one piece! It was so funny to me, just am really glad that no one else could actually see it!!! hehehehe

Bless your heart. . but I can totally relate with you! I still feel very tired at 5 + months out myself. . but i take B12 x 2, Multivitamin x 2, iron (don't know why but they said so) I dropped the calcium cause it constipated me big time. . .but i really don't know why i'm taking all this since we didn't have the gastric bypass and don't have malabsorption problems. . . oh well, but i'm sure the tiredness is from the sudden drop of calories and the body's way to compensate for it. . . well good luck!

thinoneday replied to curious06's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals

yuk, i've always hated exercise. . even when i was bodybuilding years ago. . but i just did it. . yesterday i started water aerobics thinking that this might be a fun thing. . well, it's not as strenous as floor aerobics but boring same way. . . ugh, but i'll continue to go cause "its good for me" . . . good lord. . . oh and by the way, I posted some more pictures of my weight loss journey, can't really tell the difference, how disappointing! Loose 110 lbs all together and it's hardly noticeable. . . ugh. . .

I really never lost my gherlin. . maybe some but not all. I still get hungry and have ever since surgery (I'm 5 months out), but I've learned to ignore it or drink water. Can't have everything I guess.

Does anyone do water aerobics? How do you feel this is working for y'all? I'm wanting to start this next week, because I'm still on the heavy side and don't think my knees will like ordinary aerobics. . . let me know!:confused1:

Wow did I ever have an eye opener this morning! :001_tongue: Here is my story. . .on Friday i was feeling rather blah and decided to eat "slider food" . . hmmm these slider foods go down really good! so i grazed here and there ALL weekend long and into Monday:drool5:. . . this morning I thought "oops, i never weighed myself yesterday" so onto the scale i went. . . well guess what guys and gals! I GAINED 2 lbs:hurt:. . . yup a real heifer here! I was shocked! :jaw:So this morning I began back to basics with proteins and low carbs. . . so what this teaches me is that 1. yes you can regain weight, 2. you have to be careful what to stuff into your kisser, and 3. be really careful with those slider foods. . .It really opened my eyes. . . so today I have had my 80 grams of protein, 20 grams of carbs (from fresh fruit) and 770 calories, 70 oz of water. . . wow I'm glad i got that scale! Be careful out there!

Frustrated....what happened to my support???
thinoneday replied to kalex21211's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Why is it that the ones we love and who love us, hurt us the most? I'm sorry that he did that to you. But you know, it may be his own insecurities coming out. He might be saying these hurtful things cause he knows it'll work as it has for your sister. Husbands are weird creatures of habit, they think if they can hurt you enough, you'll just forget about it and stay the same. . it's a comfort thing for them. Believe me been there, done that. . . you go forward and get that surgery, it'll work for you just as it has for me! Your going to be so proud of yourself and your going to like yourself again! Good luck honey, don't let him get you down! He's only doing it cause he is starting to worry some. . . -
