Good morning all, just a quick question. Are there any sleevers here, (other then my buddy Tiffy, how is sprout?) who have been out now 2-3 years? How's it going with ya'll now? anyone gained back a bunch of weight? anyone have complications like strictures or anything like a closure due to scar tissue and needing a stent to reopen the "stomach"? Brittle bones and breakages? Just questions, but very valid ones. Hope to hear from someone soon!

AAAARRRRGGGGHHH! Gained 1.5 pounds!
thinoneday replied to Rootman's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yup gaining the weight back is very very easy! We may have this great tool, but WE HAVE to watch what we shovel into our faces. . . you'll be ok, get back on track and all will be good. . . probably water weight from salty snacks. . . increase your water, protein, and exercise a bit, i'm sure it'll fall off. . . -
I'm sorry to hear about your friend. . . . but that is sad when they die so young. . . it wasn't a morbid thought at all, like you said it was a reaction. . . a morbid thought would be my though about why i did this surgery. . . so that when i die, i could fit into a normal sized casket and have only 6 pallbearers and not 10 or 12 cause i was sooooo hugh. . . ugh I need a shrink! hehehe

Thanks Longer-Life, well it seems that NO ONE ever has has a problem with this sleeve or they've died, or they don't come on here anymore, or they just don't know. . . thanks for bumping it up for me. . .I know of one lady who used to post here about 2 years ago who was really really struggling she was not losing and hadn't lost much either. . I felt bad for her . . . I guess we'll all find out in the end huh?

Planks to strenghten your core. . . try that one. . .if you were in the military you will know that those are. . . good luck

Bad Khy, bad, bad, bad, . . .beat you with a wet noodle! (noodles yuuuummmm), . . . oh come on honey, why would that be bad? What would have been really bad would have been you going nuts on pizza, cookies, cake, ice cream, candies, etc. . . now THAT would have been bad. . . but blended beans in your soup for extra protein! You didn't do anything thing wrong! Actually you are doing excellent. . . keep up the great work!

Would you consider WLS "elective"?
thinoneday replied to Beautyjunkie824's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Unfortunately WLS is considered an "elective" and those insurance companies that do pay for it are really good. Actually the employers are really good since they are the ones who have decided to pay for it for the employee. . . mine did not and therefore I had to pay out of pocket. . . but yes WLS is an elective just like plastic surgery is. . .most think that it is some that we elect to do and dont need to have performed due to life threatening thing. . . sad but true. . . -
Possible proof of very long term success
thinoneday replied to FishingNurse's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
How very great that her cancer never returned! I'm so happy. . my stepdad too had stomach ulcers and they removed a large portion of his stomach. . . he remained a skinny minnie for the rest of his life as well. . . he started gaining weight when he became imobile and needed a wheel chair though. . . so that was good. -
2 weeks, 3 days out... can I drink yet?
thinoneday replied to gdc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I waited til I was 3 mos out. . . and I love my rum and coke. . . i would suggest waiting cause tummy needs to heal and you could possibly cause an ulcer. . . but the decision is ultimately yours. My doctor didn't want me to drink period, but oh yeah who can do that. . . I'm sure he drinks! -
Anyone Else Feel This Way?
thinoneday replied to thinoneday's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Tiff! The baby pictures are really cute! No I find myself literally saying I'm fat and won't look at myself in the mirror anymore. I'm kinda repulsed like in the olden days. . . maybe a shrink would help. . . but then of course I'm in denial of that too. . . i don't have a mental issue??? Yeah right. . . hehehe. . . -
Hi group, well here is the question. . . even though you got to goal, does anyone else feel that they are still really fat? Those same feelings like before we lost weight? Ugh, the brain is so cruel at times. . .

Good luck to the both of you and see you on the losers side!

No support from boyfriend and family
thinoneday replied to bikerchick519's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
families are weird this way. . .just go ahead and get your surgery date. . . this is their way of showing that they are insecure and afraid for you. . .my hubbie and daughter were the same way . . . but they ended up coming to the hsoptial with me nonetheless. . . it'll be ok and they will eventully come around. . . also men are odd, they are incredibly insecure and when they see that you are going to try yet another way to lose weight, but this one might actually work, they get all weird and think you are going to leave them. . . sooo stupid if you ask me. . . but if he cares (loves) you enough, he'll come around. . . good luck and know that we are here to support you! -

TMI for some...but how do you smell?
thinoneday replied to Texasmom65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
no problems here. . . but then I've never had that problem anyhow. . . sorry i'm not much help in that dept. Have you tried some of those FDS (female deodorant sprays)? Don't douch though, that will wash away all the good bacteria and leave you open for some really nasty smelling Bacterial vaginosis. . . good luck! -
Yeah, I agree with myroni, call the insurance office and ask them what that is. . . then tell us! hehehe
