I Was Preapproved And Now After Gastric Sleeve Surgery Insurance Is Denying Claim. Beware!
thinoneday replied to Norman's topic in Insurance & Financing
Wow that really does suck. . . i don't even know what to say except i'm so sorry this is happening to you. Do you still have the letter that says you were preapproved? Can't you fight with that? Wow, I'd look at getting a lawyer. -
How many minutes between bites of food?
thinoneday replied to Shell77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
wow rootman, you are doing excellent! what great progress you are making! Keep up the great work! I drink with my food too, but i'm finding lately that it's either one or the other, because i fill up way too fast. . .weird, may need to talk to the doctor about that soon cause my bougie was really small 28/32F and i just hope i'm not scarring up. . . ugh. . . -
aren't those NSV's great! I love every one of them. . even the ones from our kids. . . I went to visit my 21 year old and when she opened her apartment door, the first thing out of her mouth wasn't "Hi MOM" . . . it was "God mom, you look like a starved orphan" . . .that made my day. . . .we laughed about that all day! NSV's are great!

How many minutes between bites of food?
thinoneday replied to Shell77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used to sit and time myself and make sure i waited 2 minutes between bites. . . that was in the beginning, now at 21 months out I eat and when I'm done, I'm done. . .I'm back to normal living and sometimes it takes me only 10 minutes to finish 1 cup of food or depending on what it is, it can take up to 15 minutes. . I don't time myself anymore. -
bread is a crazy food just like lettuce. . i'm out 21 months now and can only eat VERY WELL toasted bread and those little round bread thin things without a problem, I can eat 2 small whole wheat tortillas with about 1/2 cup hummus without a problem. . just makes me feel really really full and that is good (not a bad full, just a nice full) . .lettuce is another weird food that i just can't do, it causes me alot of pain.

What is/was everyone's losing plan
thinoneday replied to mjb123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What is/was your losing plan: My inital plan was to get to 170 lbs. My physicians plan was to get to 212 lbs. I surpassed the 212 lbs but have never been able to get under 200. That is ok for me cause I started off at 350lbs and am happy where I am now How far out from surgery you are what percentage have you lost? I'm out 21 months and have lost all that i'm going to lose, be it 100% or 80% How many times a day are you eating? 3 x per day plus Snacks What is the amount of normal food (non liquid) you are now able to get down? About 1 cup of solid food per meal. What kind of supplements are you taking? Types and Brands I don't take Vitamins at all. How much Protein are you supposed to be getting and how much are you actually getting in daily and what are your sources of protein (brands of shakes etc), I surpass 81 mg of protein daily How much Water you are actually getting down each day 64 to 100 oz EVERY day. What is your exercise routine, type of exercise, and how often. I don't go out of my way to exercise. I get exercise naturally, like park my vehicle 1/4 mile from work and walk it 2 x a day, putter around in the yard, doing housework, walk to the mailbox daily, etc. How is your energy level? Much better then when I weighed 350lbs I know I can find this in bits and pieces here on the forum but would like a go-to place with just this info as I go through this journey for ideas, motivation, and to just make sure I'm normal! You are normal! As long as your comfortable with what YOU do, your normal! Good luck and remember everyone is different! -

thinoneday replied to a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too, I am 6'0 tall and very large boned, weigh 200 - 210 lbs and wear size 16. I look as if I weigh maybe 160 lbs soaking wet. I look healthy and feel great. Wouldn't change anything right now. . . -

Does anyone have days where drinking water is really hard?
thinoneday replied to ava2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
bless your heart, yes i understand that feeling. . try a straw and don't have ice cold water. . . just sip the water in small amounts and see what happens. . good luck. . . and just an FYI, this does pass eventually, I'm 21 months out now and can gulp water like no body's business, only 1/2 a cup at a time mind you but with no problems. . . so there is light at the end of the tunnel -
Tired of this thing called 'THE STALL'
thinoneday replied to RuthiieBabiie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Never feel that we will be annoyed with a vent. . . Honey, I was on a stall for 7 months. . . want to talk about being annoyed??? But then after a while it moved again, I lost only 3 lbs and no more. . i did pass my doctors goal but never got to my own. . . maybe mine was a little too much to expect. I'm very happy at my weight right now, and i actually like myself a whole lot better!!! I won't tell you "it'll get better" or "don't worry about it" cause i know it's you. . . we all want things good for US. . .but what i will tell you is this BE PATIENT. . . and that is harder then any weight loss efforts. . . good luck -
Mine is 28/32F and yes malabsorption is my problem. I'm almost 2 years out, but have had no major problems, thank goodness. there are days i really wish i hadn't done this, but then more then most am very happy with my sleeve and it's size. I can just imagine how "lovely" i'd look if i hadn't done this 21 months ago? Ugh. . .

Isn't it wonderful! I started off with 58FF, had major boob surgery (lost 14 lbs off each) and with the WLS am now a neat and tidy 38D. . . I love it! No more comparison to a large animal. . . I hated that . . .

HELP! I'm 1 year out and hungry ALL the time!
thinoneday replied to shrinkingviolet's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I stalled over 7 months after my 1st year. . i waiver between 200 - 210 lbs. . . what i do is be tough with myself. . . i was self pay and i knew why i wanted this surgery and for me it's very simple, "be damned if i gain weight again" if i see myself going up, even 1 lb, i go on a diet (yes, just like in the olden days) Then I make sure I lose at least 10 lbs. . . I am very very careful about what i eat. . . I don't kill myself with exercise though, I hate exercise, I get what exercise i can through natural means. For example, I park my car 1/4 mile away from work and walk morning and night. . . at home i make sure i bend, stretch, do all that i need to and not just sit on the couch all evening. . . just little things, but they sure add up. . . good luck. . . i'm sure you KNOW what needs to be done. . . -

Should I sleeve or Not to Sleeve
thinoneday replied to shellnsons's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
All I can tell you is that this is your decision. . . i chose the sleeve because i didn't want the band and it was all i could afford as a self pay person. . . if you can afford more, go for whatever you want. . . good luck -
