Worried I'm not in the right place mentally for surgery
thinoneday replied to beautyqueen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like the "wedding day jitters". . . you'll be ok, you are prepared, it's normal to feel all weirded out before surgery. . .in January when I have my surgery, it'll be my 18th major surgery! I get those "something is going to go wrong" feelings all the time, it's normal. . . as you can see, nothing has gone wrong all 17 times. . . I'm still here and plan to be for a very very long time. . . talking lots to us might help you too. . . the people on these forums are great! look at the photos of these fine folks, they are true inspirations . . . you'll be ok and feel so good when this is over, look how prepared you are! Keep up the great work! -
Bless your heart! that must have hurt! :sad0: when my kids were growing up (they are 8 years apart) my son was one of these kids that just doesn't get it and would always be in time out or something. . . one day my daughter came up to me and said "mom I'm glad I was born last" I ask her why and she said "I learn what not to do from Karl!" That was priceless!!!

:lol0:Your post made me laugh so hard! That was funny "a decadent half cup of green jello" and "isopuke choc mint shake". . . yummy makes me really look forward to all this! :cursing:

I'm 6'0 tall and have very, very large bone frame. . .even my doctor is amazed at my frame. . . hehehe. . . I'd be more than happy to communicate with you during our journey!

What prompted your revision?
thinoneday replied to Bandedbut's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Wow, what a horrible experience. I was so set on getting the band and would have if it wasn't for hubbie telling me that he wouldn't support me with the band but rather with the sleeve. . . so now i'm waiting on my surgery for the sleeve in January. . . I guess I'm pretty fortunate for things that occur on my path of life huh???? Thanks for your story! I'm glad "we're" not doing it. . . -

Having trouble transitioning into maintenance
thinoneday replied to MacMadame's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi my friend! Must of lost you in the chat somewhere the other day! No don't worry about the pre op diet, my doctor says that he doesn't worry too much if your BMI is under 50 cause there isn't too much fatty liver. . . so that is good. . . best of luck to you and I'll be "with" you in my thoughts and prayers on tuesday! Let us know how things turn out. . . always! -
Having trouble transitioning into maintenance
thinoneday replied to MacMadame's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Susan, I too hate exercise, and that's ALL exercises, not just the odd one. . I curse that dreaded word, I'd rather have a root canal! But I go every day to walk the retched treadmill and cuss it continuously for the whole 45 minutes! I go at 3.1 mph, break out in a horrific sweat but keep going (cussing of course:cursing:) then off to the stationary bike for 15 more minutes doing random hills at level 9 :001_unsure:. . . then its off and home I go :confused1: as fast as I only can only to repeat the same damn thing again the next day. . . I've been doing this now every day for the past 5 months :confused1: but know what I feel ok. . . I'm told i'm ahead of the game because I've not been sleeved yet (not til January) but at least it is a habit. . . I feel very weirded out on the weekends when I don't go. . .I feel like something is missing. . . like when you forget the cell phone :scared0: . . . ya just like that. Good thing is that I'm maintaining my now weight and not gaining anymore (yahoo) that means that as long as I keep my BMI under 50 I DONT have to do the preop diet! I'm at 44 BMI right now and holding. . . anyhow I could go on and on and on. . . gift of the gab you know. . . so chat more later! -

ME TOO!!!!!!! I totally can't wait to be in your shoes! Finally to be called Twiggy instead of Fatso! Wow, that is a dream come true. . . :001_unsure: -
Socal, my heart tugged at your story. . .that destructive monster needs to go my friend. . it lived in me for a long time when I was younger. . .it was terrible it made me feel exactly the same way it made you feel. . .but one day i couldn't do it anymore and made a pack with myself to kill that damn monster and I did, I killed it . . .there are days that it tries to surface but I don't let it. I feel so badly for those who are riddled with this evil demon, I can completely relate to the tears that flow, the pain that accompanies it, the feelings of worthlessness. God bless you and all those like us, but together we can overcome and live the lives we deserve, we are all important, we are all people who deserve love, dignity, and respect, we are women and we will prevail. . . Without us there would be no one. Be strong my friend, be strong!

Just that news is well worth the surgery. . . can't wait for my knees to stop hurting along with the foot problems and so on. . .best of luck to you while you travel your journey

Good for you! I love your story, all the little emoticons! I'm so glad your going to get it done. . hubbie or not, it's for you. . . we women and so funny:smilielol5:always worrying about hubbie and what he thinks !! It's for your health and well being, my hubbie is like yours, it took me 1 1/2 years to even convince him to come to a seminar! I don't like arguing so I took the whatever attitude. . .then he came to a seminar, here I am! I'll be sleeved in January! He says he is worried about my swelling and heart. . . I'm on 80 mg Lasix and 40 Amiloride 2x a day for swelling of my legs (all tests have out negative, there is nothing wrong with me at all - go figure ??? ) Guess I'm just a swollen mess! but at least I'll get the weight off and hopefully the swelling too. . . . no matter where you go, you'll be happy you did and so will hubbie! Good luck and the best to you!
