What Are You Looking Like?
thinoneday replied to Anewlifeforme23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm out 3 years and have lost 150 lbs. . . don't know how many inches. . . went from size 4XL to L and from pant size 32 to 18. . .I love it. . . I don't look sickly or anything, have lots of loose skin, but hey, not going to be a super model anyhow. . . . love how i look in clothes and am soooooo very happy that i finally can cross my legs, ride those horses, and fit in a plane sit without asking for an extension. . . . -
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I totally love your description of each one of those people! Totally priceless. . . like the previous posters mentioned just ignore them, they are jealous cause they see your losses and don't like the idea that they are failing themselves. Sort of like some of the negative people on this forum, they are miserable and want to take everyone else around them down with them. . . so keep you head high and do some "eye rolls" yourself. . . hahahaha. . . your doing fantastic!

Help, Suffering From Head Hunger
thinoneday replied to AngelaEEEE's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
3 years out and still suffer from head hunger. . . sometimes i give in and have the demon craving and then i'm fine for a week or so until it happens again. . . but we are human and these things will haunt us forever. . .the trick here is to keep so busy that when it hits we can divert our thinking to other things. . . it's really hard, the sleeve is a great tool, now if they could only invent something to kill head hunger and some other negative thinkings huh? hahahaha. . . you never know. . .good luck! -
One Week After Vsg And Food Question
thinoneday replied to hgor's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Best thing to do is consult with the nutritionist you met with before surgery. They are there for you and can help alot. . . also your surgeon should be able to help with that. Good luck -
Had mine in 2009, 3 years ago. . . and I'm doing wonderfully. . . lost 150 lbs and am back to "normal" eating, haven't gained a single pound either. . . feel and look terrific. . only problem, which i had before surgery anyhow, is malabsorption problems with vitamins. . . other then that my physician, surgeon and myself are very pleased with all the outcomes. . . good luck!

thinoneday replied to Sleevie WonderLand's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Interested In Getting The Sleeve But People Are Scaring Me!
thinoneday replied to TiffanyLoren's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm really "crazy" over this surgery. . . I'm so "euphoric" cause I've lost like 150 lbs and now I seem to be "normal". . . lol, mental issues, that is a quirk. . . no offense taken, but whoever told you about that must have several issues themselves. . . good luck to you! -
Losing Too Quick! Am I Crazy For Complaining?
thinoneday replied to kenbr14's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

This May Be A Dumb Question
thinoneday replied to Kelligirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
No, the stomach is removed. It's not reattached. . .that would kinda freak me out too knowing that my cut away stomach was reattached and flappin' around in there. . ewwwww. . . . -
5 Day Pouch Test?
thinoneday replied to Lucky Lady 702's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes it works, but it's pure hell if your not used to it and you've been doing carbs a lot. But it does work. . . will get you back on track. Good luck. -
Losing Too Quick! Am I Crazy For Complaining?
thinoneday replied to kenbr14's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 53 lbs in 7 weeks. . and a total of 150 lbs in 1 year. My hubbie thought that i was going to die. . . he was so upset cause the weight was flying off. . . then i went into a 7 MONTH stall . . . now that was something to complain about, but whatever, I wasn't gaining and that is what i worried about more. . . then it stopped and i lost an additional 10 lbs and that was it. . . . now at 3 years out i have surpassed my doctors goal for me, and feel so much better about myself. I fit onto things i could never fit before, like airplane seats, horses, bicycles, etc. . . i can walk up several flights of stairs without thinking i need a breathing apparatus (LOL) and so on. . . don't worry, it'll stop eventually. . . your body gets to a point and just stops. . .good luck and keep up the EXCELLENT work! -
6 Year Old Daughter Doesn't Want Me To Change. :(
thinoneday replied to NJsharon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Like the previous poster states, change scares not only kids but everyone. People don't care for change much and when it happens it's scary, the good thing about kids however, they are resilent to change, it happens, they forget about it. . . life will be ok. Makes me wonder if she really doesn't want you to "change" or because you'll be gone for a few days? She'll be ok and you'll be better and healthier for it. . . good luck! -
What 80 Pounds Does To Someone's Face!
thinoneday replied to Forensikchic's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Lovely pic. . . you can sure tell a big difference. . . keep up the excellent work! You must be really happy. . . good for you! -
may i tell you something? in the beginning i was doing so excellently, then 1 year came around and boom, i hit a stall which lasts 7 months! yup you heard right, 7 months. . . it was terrible and heartbreaking. . . then out of the blue one day i started moving again, but only for 10 more lbs. . . now at 3 years out i am maintaining between 200 - 215lbs. . i feel good, look good, and got to my doctors goal. . . i would have loved to get to 170 lbs, but i don't even remember weighing that as a teen or young girl. . . so for me that must have been an "unreasonable" goal. . . but i'm happy with my 150 lb loss and that i've been maintaining without any problems. . . be patient, it'll stop soon. . . good luck!

Calling All Experienced Sleevers
thinoneday replied to Tattoodmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You'll eventually get to 1/4c food, don't push it. . for now just a couple of tblspns is good at each meal. In the beginning you can't eat much, I think that was the general idea. . .but as far as the protein shake, sip it over a couple of hours, you don't have to drink it all at once. . .just take it easy. . .your tummy is swollen and sore, it takes time and it is definately a learning process. I'm 3 years out now and can bearly finish 7 oz of food at any given time. I drink my fluids well, but over a time period. As far as the hair loss, honey that is a chance we have taken, it may or may not happen. . . mine is still falling out and it's been 3 years. . i'm surprised i'm not bald, i used to have beautiful thick long hair, now it's so thin, my braid is no thicker then my pinky finger. . . ugh. . .and unlike Mr. Worm, I have always taken my vitamins as directed and have still had tremendous hair loss. . so that is not a factor in the keep your hair dept. . oh well I chose it and prefer the weight loss. . . but just be patient and do the best you can with your diet, follow the doctors orders and make sure you do your vitamins and keep your appts. . . good luck -
Horseback Riding After Surgery--How Soon After?
thinoneday replied to PonyUp's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I waited until I felt I had lost enough weight not to harm the horse. For me, that was about 1 year after I lost 150 lbs. Now i'm back in the saddle and bouncing all over the place once again. . . good luck. -
Forensikchic, how I can relate to your post. . . all i can really say is that ignorance plays a large part in those who are rude and hateful on these forums. They are miserable people and want to bring everyone else down with them. . .they are failing or sinking and want others to fail and feel as miserable as they do. Those who are genuine and honestly true cyberbuddies will not do this. There are many of us who know how the journey goes and has been going and we "seasoned" ones KNOW what to expect . . . so don't give up because of the ignorance of those who know not what they are saying or doing. . . just ignore them or better yet, block them, you know who they are. . . i've done that and have gotten rid of alot of thorns in my behind. . . i love "listening" to you and hearing your stories. . . stay with us who know and for those who want to learn. . we need you here. . . the ones who don't want to listen can carry on. . . .

Revision Gone Wrong
thinoneday replied to faith-hope-love's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
thank you for sharing your experience with us. that must have been really tragic for you. . .I'm so sorry that has happened. and like you say, it's probably not that uncommon. . . fortunately there are more successes then failures, but when failures occur, they are very very sad. I'm out now 3 years and Knock On Wood, haven't had any major complications to speak of. . . I wish you all the best of luck and yes, our lives are precious and I think we are all grateful for what we have. . . good luck again and i wish you continued recovery as you go down your path. -
Still Hungry.....wth?!?
thinoneday replied to kayte819's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been hungry all 3 years since my first day of surgery! lol. . . it's a real pain in the gluteus maximus. I asked my doctor about that and did you know that the pancreas also produces that damned gherlin? Yup in some folks, the hormone is produced in the stomach part which has been removed in us, and in some folks it is produced in the pancreas. . . ugh life can really throw a curve ball to people can't it? Good luck! Keep working that sleeve, it won't let you down. . . -
Shoe Size, Before And After? I'm Asking The Ladies And The Gents.
thinoneday replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 6'0 tall and pre-surgery wore a 10WW. . .now with 150lbs lost i still wear at 10WW. -
Bad day today, first off I'm really tired (this malabsorbtion is not co-operating with me) today and have been not sleeping well for the past few weeks. . . don't know why. . . secondly, i have the nasty duty of firing a couple of my employees today and next week. . . this makes me very nervous and uptight cause you never know how people will react to this news. . . had one who went totally psycho on the department and had to call for police escort. . .ugh. . . then there are problems with older son who is an ass anyhow and i shouldn't let this bother me because he has always been a loser his whole 30 years and caused me nothing but pain. . . ugh this is making me eat uncontrollably and drinking too much fluids as well, which is making me slime out of control. . . and feel very very bloated and uncomfortable. . . this emotional eating sucks! Thanks for listening, I know what I need to do. . . . just have to vent. . . .

Thank you everyone, you are all great! I'm so fortunate to have this forum to come chat on. . . things will get better. . .the boy has been a pain forever, so i'm used to that. . my pastor told me that we are given children to raise and after they are adults, they should take what we have taught them and work it into their own paths. . .if they chose to screw up and fall off the path, that is a choice they have made not us. . . I'm doing much better today, i'll work on the emotional eating part . Together i know we can get through it. Thanks again all.!!! Blessings and cyber hugs to all (( ))
