I don't know what is happening....maybe someone can help me. I have had 5 fills and feel nothing. I have NO restriction at all. Does anyone else have this problem. My daughter has had the lap band and has had 3 surgeries. The original surgery and two more because the port has had to be relocated as it doesn't work. She has no restriction either. We are thinking perhaps we have made a big mistake having this surgery.

Post-surgery with minimal weight loss
J.R. replied to kreich's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You aren't alone. I had my surgery in May 2007, did quite well on liquids, but I feel no restriction at all. I have had one fill and am hoping the next one will help. I know L.B . is just a tool to help, but at this point I can't see it helping...Good luck. -
Do you find its physically easier to eat garbage?

I was banded in May of this year. I have had one fill and can't see where it is helping me at all. I can eat and eat and eat. I know will power has to play into the equation, but why do I not feel restricted?? -
You didn't have any bruising. I was extremely bruised. Some areas were as big as the palm of my hand, purple...was weeks before the bruising went away.

I have had this happen to me also.....the pain was so bad I thought it might be something else...it went from under my breastbone, up into my shoulder and neck. Went on for hours....you aren't alone...JR

If you need to have your gallbladder removed...do NOT put it off. I had g.b. problems and kept putting it off...until I was so sick the Dr. had to do emergency surgery on a Sat. morning. I had severe pain on the right side, and sometimes radiating to the middle. My next phase was pain and vomiting. I finally got to the point I couldn't even keep water down. I would vomit nasty bile. Due to letting things go to long I ended up with a full cut surgery and it was horrible. I had several gallstones, the duct was blocked and stones were found in my liver, not to mention jaundice and infection. This put my lapband surgery off for six months. I just had l.b. last week and it felt like a walk in the park after gallbladder surgery. Good luck and don't put it off so long that you will need a full cut surgery. JR

I am only 7 days out from surgery. I didn't experience gas pains until last night and I was seriously thinking about going to the ER. It started under my breast bone, went into my shoulder and neck. My neck hurt so bad I couldn't put my head down. I am assuming it was "trapped gas"...I hope anyway. I took the heating pad and put it on my shoulder. This morning, I was back to normal.

I am finding I hurt sitting also. I was banded just last week, the 17th and went back to work the 24th. I work in an office and sit for 8 hours. Sometimes I have pain, which I assumed was trapped gas, but perhaps it is the sitting.

I am having the same problem; I am only out 7 days and have had diarrhea 5 of those days. I am lactose intolerant and having a hard time. I have been using lactaid milk and still suffering. I will be glad when I get to the phase of food...instead of liquids. Good Luck JR

I had my surgery May 17, 2007, and I know just what you mean. I have severe, diarrhea. I thought something must be wrong; no wonder I have lost a few pounds..

I had my surgery May 17, 2007 and am experiencing severe, severe, green diarrhea. I have no gallbladder so can't blame that. Would be interested in this color thing also.

I was so enthusiastic about lapband surgery; all approved by the ins. company, but....I had to have emergency gallbladder surgery. I was very sick. The surgeon tried to do laproscopic surgery; it didn't work, so I ended up with a full cut. I am told I should wait at least a year before considering lapband. :think

I am new and need all the help I can get!
J.R. posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have my appointment with the surgeon this Friday; My understanding is it might be 6-12 weeks after this appointment before surgery. I am getting worried about the surgery as I have developed stomach problems. Has anyone experienced gallbladder/gallstones prior to surgery and will the surgeon still do the surgery knowing I have problems? -
What reason did you give your job for being out of work?

I have also been wondering what to say to my co-workers. I have sick and vacation time on the books. I am thinking about taking vacation time and simply saying I am taking a vacation to lounge around, read and just plain rest!!
