Hello!I did a lot of research regarding the types of WLS. I decided that after a laparoscopic surgery for the removal of a cyst from my right ovary the size of a grapefruit (PCOS), obstructive sleep apnea, hirutism, and preeclampsia during pregnancies that I need an alternative to reduce my weight. I have seen numerous endocrinologists, weightloss doctors and programs, and have tried almost everything imaginable to keep this weight off, but had been unsuccessful. If I lost weight via Adipex, I would gain double the amount back. Too many temporary fixes. I need a tool.
My family and I attended a Bariatric Seminar in Pinehurst, NC on May 7, 2009 to find out more about the surgery options. I was impressed by what I heard, and then did extensive research on the Surgeon. I decided to submit my paperwork to the office. I submitted it within 72 hours of thinking about it and continuing to research. I got a quick response and was scheduled for a consult on June 19, 2009. I requested all of my medical records. I even went ahead and saw my PCM on 05/12/2009. He gave me my Letter of Medical Necessity that day, did my Bone Density Test, Thyroid Panel, and my diet and weight history since he had been treating me for obesity for several years. I saw the Bariatric Psychiatrist on May 15, 2009. I had to go back for testing once more. I received a call from her and she told me she was sending my clearance over the Surgeon's office. The morning of the consult, an hour before leaving, I was rescheduled to another date. The surgeon had a family emergency. I was rescheduled to July 1, 2009. During my first visit, we did an extensive overview of my health background. We further discussed the procedures and the type that I thought was best for me. I was leaning towards the Bypass. He told me I would be fine with either one, but since I would like a slower weightloss, he would recommend the Banding. He also asked me if there was a time frame that I was looking to have the surgery done by. I told him I would like to have it done before my kids return to school. He told me I only needed to have a Sleep Study done. I had already had one done within the last 6mos. He told me to have the results sent over, and he would go ahead and set a tentative surgery date assuming that everything is okay with my sleep study results.I was given a date of July 14, 2009 for my Patient Education Class and H&P. I was given an EGD date of July 27, 2009. My tentative surgery date was Aug 10, 2009. I was soooo excited. I finally had the Sleep Study Results sent over on July 10, 2009. After the office reveiwed the results, they asked me if I was on a CPAP machine. I told them no, and that I didn't know I needed one. They said I should have had a follow-up study done and put on a CPAP machine, because the results show me having periods of infrequent breathing while sleeping. She told me that my surgery is being post-poned and they are setting me up another Exam. She also told me I need to be treating on the CPAP machine for at least 2 weeks prior to surgery. I was scheduled immediately. The results came back immediately. I was given a CPAP machine. I started using it immediately.
I received a call back from the office. They rescheduled my Patient Education Class and H&P for August 3, 2009. My EGD was scheduled for August 14, 2009. I had my EGD performed and had no problems. On Tuesday morning, I received a call that I had a biopsy done that tested positive for HPYLORI, and that I need to follow the treatment of the medication that was called in to my Pharmacy. I was told to take the medication until the day of surgery, and that antibiotics would be administered through my I.V.
I was successfully REALIZE BANDED on August 27. I stayed overnight and was released on August 28. I am still healing and HUNGRY AS...................[url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/wl51mX9/]
