I haven't had lap band but I feel like it is a great option for me.  After my fifth and last kid two years ago I have had such a hard time losing the weight.  I have not weighed less than 200lbs for 3 years now and it has had such a devastating effect on me.  I just feel so lost for hope and I just hope I can afford to get this done asap.  I am 40 and I want to run and play with my kids. I want to feel beautiful again.  I want to be able to look in a mirror again instead of going out of my way to avoid them at all costs.  That is my story.
