Hi! How are your mushies going? It's so exciting after those weeks of liquids! If you like sweet potatoes, they were like a staple food, also, rachel ray showed a recipe for mashed potatoes using a few potatoes and the rest cauliflower....ive got to try that! It looked really good! Good luck!

Oh please don't consider what I said about being hungry...it's a pretty new experience for me (I was always eating so never hungry!!!) Anyway, I have absolutely no regrets! After surgery the first week isn't bad. I was on liquids. 2nd week mushies...I was ready for them and as gross as mushies sound, it was heaven! 3rd week until current I have been on soft foods. The problem with this time period is that the swelling has gone down, you can eat all kinds of bad stuff if you are weak (as I have been on a few occassions!) but, if you behave, you will see that your clothes get looser and people suddenly start noticing how great your looking! I've lost 33 lbs. so far and feel healthier than ever! You are going to do great and soon you'll be changing your name to Hot Moma!!!! Keep in touch...I'm happy to help!

So far the only pics are in my album...all befores. I've lost 33 lbs. so far. I'm finding the socializing part the hardest...I happen to like my cocktails!!! Ice pops are good too though! LOL! I'm a total idiot when it comes to technology...I had my daughter take some after pictures of me at a party last weekend...I wore a dress that made me feel like a million bucks. When I walked into the room, a few friends actually gasped!!!! I didn't even need a drink...I was literally high on feeling like a hottie!!! I'm going to post some over the weekend with a little help from my husband! Take care Amanda...the surgery is a breeze - keep picturing yourself skinny! You'll be there in no time!!!

Thanks....I needed to hear that! I've been very discouraged lately (which lead to a bout of binge eating!) I can't wait to be the "encouraging one" for others going through bandster hell!!! I need to be patient too....it took a lifetime of poor eating habits to get to this point and I won't loose all this weight overnight!!!

Hey Leslie! Isn't it funny how excited we get about mushies?!! No one in their right mind gets excited about mushy food except a bandster who has been on liquids for some time!! The first mushy meal is like heaven! I only had to stay on for one week and then it's been soft foods ever since. I've been experimenting with the different protein shakes and bought a ton of DaVinci SF Syrups to add variety to my shakes. Have you found the protein shake recipe page...it has a ton of great recipes. I think it was a thread on this site...type in protein shake recipes! I've been at 218 for 3 weeks and getting very frustrated! No regrets though!

Thanks Apples! I lost alot pre op and it's the first month of post op for me. I've been at same weight for 3 weeks and lately find myself a little discouraged, hungry, and making poor eating choices. Overall, this has been great and I know my family & I are eating much healthier than ever. I'm new at "controlling" myself and need to get a grip on my sweet tooth! Anyway, thanks for the support - I'm going to walk the dogs!!!

Hey Lyssa! I've read over and over how the band is a tool and it's up to us to make the right food choices! It's so hard though! I always start out with the right intentions....had turkey slices with avocado for lunch, but then I saw the treats I buy for the kids lunches, and within seconds, I'm wolfing down junk! I find if I let myself get really hungry, I'm out of control! Anyway, the support is great on this site and I have high expectations for my first fill! I know we can do this!!!!

I had the full gamot of beach cover ups....maxi dress, sarongs, beach skirts....and I just sold them all on ebay! We are going to Paradise Island in January and I am going to find the most adorable flattering bathing suit I can! Yippee! Off to the gym - trying to tone it before gravity takes hold of it! Thanks for the am conversation...you definitely put a smile on my face!

LOL! I hear you! I rarely "put effort" into the meals I prepare, but I find that I really want things to taste good to me and am limited because I'm in the soft food stage. I'm dying to eat something that crunches, but when you think about, it's mostly bad stuff! I'm surrounded by little hotties too....uuuugh! I can't wait till I'm the hot leggy blonde friend instead of the funny fat one!!! Have a fantastic day...hope you stay hunger free!!!

It's been 4 weeks as of Tuesday, and my best advice is to learn to get creative in the kitchen! I've even introduced tofu to my family and we love it! I really researched how to cook it properly...chili, tacos, with eggs...it's high in protein and full of nutrition. Also, check out the recipes on bariatriceating.com - fantastic sight! Is your family prepared to have the "hot mom" in the neighborhood?!! You are gorgeous!!!

LOL! I keep hearing that we shouldn't continually weigh ourselves (congrats on the -.02!) I jump on the scale every morning and torture myself with the ups & downs (no matter how big or small!) I know it will come off eventually, but I'm thinking the chocolate croissant I ate yesterday is not part of this plan! Are alot of people noticing your progress? I bought size 16 jeans the other day. They fit as long as I don't sit!!!
