What a difference! Great job! I'm sure you're feeling so much better. Keep up the great work!

Congrats on getting your surgery date. Just wanted to give you some encouragement. I'm down 134 lbs. in about 18 mos. I'd like to lose another 70 and I know with the help of my band I can do this. It's taken a lot of hard work, but it's definitely worth it. Good luck to you!

I never bleed much but I always bruise. My fills usually are harder as I'm still pretty large. Usually takes 3 or 4 sticks before my doc hits it. Hopefully it will get better soon! Hang in there and I hope it gets better for you.

Best Solution for Nausea?
SheryBery replied to Chrissy72's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, I had to get a prescription from the doc for meds. Was well worth it though. The nausea was worse than the surgery! Good luck to you. -
I just sent him a pm with the same info! I think I met you at the last meeting, Gwen. And you're right, they are very good! Hope to see you tonight!

<snort>you guys made me laugh so much! We have a cat named Patches---aka Schmoopie, Patchie, YOUR cat (when she's bad), Patchie Kitty.

I've been overweight most of my life and tried many diets. My 1st marriage ended 7 years ago and one of the reasons was my weight. I was left to raise 2 boys pretty much alone. Needless to say, the weight kept going up. 4 years ago I met a wonderful man online and we married in 2004. He loves me for who I am and didn't care about the weight except to say he wanted me healthy so we could be together forever. The turning point came last summer when we took my boys to the airport to fly to CA to be with their dad. I ended up getting a wheelchair to go the gate with them as I couldn't walk very far. That opened my eyes to how much of life I'm missing out on. I realized that I was going to die much sooner than I needed to. Now with 60 lbs gone, I feel so much better. I have much more to go, but I WILL succeed this time. Good luck to you!

Anything you would go back and do before surgery if you had a chance to do it over?
SheryBery replied to cathyc113's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And take your measurements! Sometimes you can see more in that number than you can on the scales. -
Anyone in Idaho been banded in Idaho?
SheryBery replied to ChubbyinIdaho's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sorry to hear that. But I do understand. Mine wasn't covered by insurance either so I had to pay myself. But it's definitely been worth it. Good luck, and welcome to Idaho! Did you move here for a job or just because it's wonderful here! -
Anyone in Idaho been banded in Idaho?
SheryBery replied to ChubbyinIdaho's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded on Sept. 11th by Dr. Cahn in Boise. He's been wonderful and I've lost 55 lbs. since my first consult with him in July. His office is in the St. Luke's building on Eagle Rd. and the freeway. Good luck! Lemme know if I can answer any questions. -
Just an update...I was banded on the 11th and I'm back to work today. Absolutely no pain and haven't taken paid meds since I left the hospital. Came home on the 12th and had a pretty rough bout of nausea, but Dr. Cahn prescribed something for that and it passed. Have had a couple smaller bouts with it, but basically am feeling really well. Am keeping water down and some jello. But tried broth and SlimFast and those didn't settle well. Am very gassy....how fun is that??? Anyway, I'm feeling great and cannot believe how pain-free I am. Good luck to the rest!

Angie, Yeah, I was on 3 SlimFasts a day and all the veggies I wanted. I cheated some, but not too bad. It's been so long since I lost ANY weight that this seems huge! Good luck to you too. I'll check in next week!
-
Just a quick update to all. I've lost 31 lbs.on pre-op diet since July 13th and I'm a "go" for my surgery on Monday the 11th. It's been quite the time, but I'm soooo ready. Wish me luck---I'll update next week!
-
LOL...oh Dody...sorry to giggle but that's too funny! Maybe you should always carry a cell phone when out with the doggie? Or is your daughter like my husband....can sleep through the phone ringing?? Anyway----congrats on all that exercise!
-
So far right at 28 lbs. I'm doing only SlimFast from now until next Wed. If I don't lose enough and he wants to reschedule AGAIN, I'm not sure if I can do it again. It's mentally getting to me. Feeling like a failure, all that crap.
-
Thanks! That sounds fun. Hopefully I'll be eating a little by then. Just remind me before so I can clear it with the hubby. BTW...just talked to Debra at Dr. Cahn's office yesterday and he wants 34 lbs. off of me by the time I go in on Sept. 6th to weigh in. I'm stressed!
-
I've got my pap scheduled for next week!! Now I'm thinkin' of canceling!
-
Yeppers---the 11th is the day. If it changes again....errrrr....I can't even think about that. But I've lost close to 30 lbs. so I hope that's gonna be enough for the Dr.!
-
Wanna share my SlimFast??? LOL....I'm trying to get off my last few pounds before surgery on Sept. 11th. After I get done with that and am back on food, I'd love to meet all of you! You're all so encouraging!

Sitting here looking at my surroundings----sheesh----doesn't look like High School! Between this thread and the one the other day on religion, I thought I'd gone back in time! Ok---I'm off to find my shoes!
-
OMG!! Having flashbacks to the first time I saw "The Wizard of Oz"---those damn monkeys scared the bejeebers outta me!! Thanks alot Paul. **sittin' in the corner cryin**
-
Linda: LOL!! I remember you too. But I was sitting next to the young lady you're talking about. I was to her right. I have short reddish hair and my mom had come with me that night. Nice to put a face to your name now. I probably won't be at the next meeting as my banding is scheduled for Sept. 11th and the meeting is the 12th. If I'm feeling like SuperWoman, I'll be there---but I wouldn't count on it! Tricia---"Howdy" to you too---where are you from?
-
Linda: Thanks for the encouragement. As of this morning I'm down a total of 25 lbs!! Wow----that's so huge for me! And yes, I was at St. Al's support group this month (the 8th I think). It was very informative. I know that others of Dr. Cahn's patients were there and told me they'd had to wait. But it was still a blow when I had to reschedule. But now I'm back on track and feeling much more confident. Thanks for the invite to your Yahoo group dinner. But my youngest son is in Optimist football and our evenings are full of that at the moment, but maybe at a later date. And to answer your another question, I live in beautiful Emmett. I'm a native Idahoan!
-
Guess I get to join the September Bandsters! I'm scheduled for Sept. 11th at St. Al's in Boise, Idaho. I was originally scheduled for August 14th but didn't meet my Dr's weight loss goal of 30 lbs. So I'm back on track and have lost 20 lbs. so I've got 10 more to go. I was discouraged at first but I know he has reasons and this is just making me more stubborn and actually more aware of the big step I'm taking. It's going to be life-changing and it's about time I changed my life! Good luck to all of us!
-
Thanks! I forgot to say that I've already lost 20 lbs so maybe I'll have one sooner than I thought! Also, I'm hoping to get 4---one for myself, my husband and my 2 sons. Because I'm doing this for all of us so that we have many more years together. I figure a permanent reminder can only help, right?
