Thanks, I Feel A Little Better. I Do Exercise 3-4 Times A Week And Drink All My Water. They Took My Measurements At Curves When I Started. I Have Had Sciatic And Told By My Doc To Lay Off The Excercising For A While Until I Finish My Meds. I Can't Wait To Get Back. I Never Thought I Would Say That. I Will Wait And See, You Give Me Hope That This Will Be The One. Thanks Again For Both Of You Help. Diane

I Just Got My Third Fill On Wed. 3.2 In A 10cc. I Was At 2.8 With No Restriction And Wanted Enough So I Would Feel It This Time. The Nurse Told Me That 4cc Is About The Most They Put Into That Size Band Per The Doc. So Far Not Much Difference. I Hope Now That I Am Off The 2 Days Of Soft, I Will Feel A Difference. I Too Have Only Lost A Small Amount Since Sx. 14lbs. I Have Lost A Total Of 54 Lbs But I Was Hoping And Praying To Be Down To At Least 270 By Christmas. I Didn't Think That 40 Lbs In 4 Months Would Be Hard With The Band. I Have A Reunion In July And Really Really Would Love To Be Down To 225. That Is 7 Mos And Is Possible. If Only I Can Reach My First Restriction! I Just See All Of You Losing Weight And I Feel Bad For I Am Just Staying The Same. Up 2 Down 1, Up 1 Down 2. Go Figure! Thanks For Letting Me Vent! Diane

Wow Cathy! After 36 Yrs He Shows Back Up In Your Life! That Is Unreal! How Does He Look After So Many Years? For This Man To Go To The Trouble To Look You Up And Remember All About You Is Great. Don't Let The Cancer Keep You Away! He Is Working To Fight It And It Will Happen. I Know You Are Not Confident About Yourself As Of Yet, But He Has Seen You And Still Is Coming Back In Two Weeks. Just Take It Slow And See If Those Old Feeling Might Just Come Back. In Time Being With Someone Will Become A Little Easier. (at Least I Think It Should) Its Like Old Friends Getting To Know Each Other Again. A Lot Of Talking And Laughing. I Wish Someone From My Past Would Look Me Up!!! Diane -
A thread for Single Bandsters
ladydi replied to NewBeginnings2018's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Apinksoprano, welcome to bandland! Make sure you do a lot of walking and you can use a heating pad and that might help the gas. Don't get upset if some of the 10 lbs come back. That is normal. I know you have read it before about the first month or so just for healing not for weight loss. It is so true! Just relax and enjoy, for after you heal and get your first fill, you will then start your journey! I have been single for 26 yrs. Boy, that is a long time. I have been around 300 lbs for about 24 yrs of that. I was about 150 in high school, not bad for my height, 5'7" and after my babies, gained another 50 lbs. got up to 250 and loss 50 when my husband said he wanted a divorce after 10 yrs of a very happy marriage. (so I thought) Then through my depression, gained 50 lbs back. the weight just started to add up until I reached 300 lbs. I dated right after my divorce when I was only 200 lbs but nothing lasted for I was so unhappy with myself. If you do not like yourself, then how can you expect anyone else to like you. My emotions has gone up and down in all these years but I finally decided to do something for myself and I got the band. I am working on liking myself and I pray that once the weight comes off I will have more confidance in myself that I will attract men to me. I look forward to sharing time with someone and being held again. I think the lack of cuddling is what I miss the most. After all this time I don't know if I'm not too set in my ways to share a life as man and wife again, but I definitely would love to go out with someone and share with him that part of me. Someone to laugh with, cry with, and someone to hold and be held. Gee, not only does the band give you the tool to have a healthy life, but to have a life of love of oneself and life again. This is a great blessisng!!!!! Ladydi -

Hope You All Had A Great Thanksgiving! My Clothes Are 32-34. I Have Not Bought Any New Clothes But All Of My Clothes Are Big On Me. They Were Tight, It Feels Great Not To Have Tight Clothes Anymore. I Have Lost Only 14 Lbs Since The Sx But A Total Of 52. I Will Not Try Any Clothes On Until The Ones I Have Are Unwearable. I Guess I Don't Think I Feel That Much Smaller. That Will Be A Hard Thing To Get Over! Seeing Myself Smaller. Diane

Gummie, I'm Sorry About The Cost Of The Fills And Not Able To Get Another One. I Would Try Real Hard To Just Diet For Now, Until You Are Able To Get Another Fill. I Know It Is A Bummer, But You Don't Want To Gain Anymore Weight After All The Things You Have Gone Through To Get Where You Are Right Now. Are You Starting Your Day With A Protein Drink? Are You Eating Enough Protein? This Will Help Your Hunger. When You Can Get Another Fill I Would Let The Dr Or The Nurse Know That You Are Paying A Lot Of Money For The Fill And You Feel He Should Put Enough In That You Can Reach Some Sort Of Restriction! This Is Your Money You Are Spending And He Sould Help You! Good Luck Diane

Brandy, where did you go in Calif? I use to live there about 100 miles north of LA. Sorry you were so tight! Hopefully next time you can enjoy it better. Diane

Pattiriciat, I thought the drinking of water was going to be a problem for me too. Thats how i would get my water down before. I thought if I couldn't drink with my food I would have a hard time to drink. I bought a drinking cup that holds 16 oz, and I drink Propel grape. I have no problem drinking all of my water for the grape taste great! Once in a while I try to grab for the water just out of habbit, but really its not bad. I also use to drink sodas, I dont even miss them. It's weard, but your body just changes. Don't worry about the changes. I still feel the same as I did before. Only now I am taking vitamins and exercising. If you have any questions or need to talk, we are always here for you. Diane

There are so many things that I'm thankful for, where to begin? I am thankful for my faith and that I feel God working in my life. I am thankful for the bad childhood and that I have overcome it and it made me a better person. I am thankful for my marriage. I had 10 wonderful years full of love. I'm thankful for my wonderful children which gives me love everyday of my life. It's hard to state the love I have for them. i'm so thankful that they both grewup great people! I'm thankful that they both have good spouses that love them and that they are both happy. I'm so thankful to have my 5 grandchildren, who gives me so much love and joy! I am thankful that I had many years with my mom before she died. I'm thankful that my mom had at least 5 happy years of life before she died. She met a wonderful man while she was in her 60's. She was able to travel and have nice things and be loved each and everyday. I'm thankful for my two loving cats. I'm thankful for my appartment and the area that I live. I live on the Water and everytime I go out I look at the beautiful area and smile. I'm thankful for living so close to my son and grandchildren. I'm thankful for my health. I'm so thankful for the band. I know it will begin to work very soon. I'm thankful for this forum and for all the people here. I know there are many more items that I am thankful for but I better stop for now!

Thank you Jamie, I feel great, its just weird how it happens now and then. I guess I was thinking that the band just made you feel full after a little food. I sure didn't want anything to eat after I got home. Diane

Hi, I got my second fill on the 1st. I didn't feel as though I had anymore restriction than before. Then 6 days later I was having half of a salad leftover, took 2 bites and had a feeling like it would not go down, then I had to stand over the sink for the next 10 min. That was weard. the rest of the time I was fine, not really feeling any restriction. Then 2 days later I took my grandchildren out to eat. I took 2 bites of chicken and one bite of corn and the same thing happened. This time it took 1 1/2 hours to feel better. My poor girls they didn't know why I was feeling so bad. They don't know that I have the band, and didn't want to tell them. I just felt bad that they had to watch me feel bad. I didn't even get to talk to them about anything else. Does the restriction come and go like that? Or does it just take time? I guess I thought that as soon as I got the fill, and it was enough for a restriction, I would know right away.

Janie, If you can change the church, receiption place, flowers, cake, and dresses in time, then go for it. What does your man think? December is a beautiful time of year. Holly, I was banded in Aug and just had my 2nd fill, but I was behind others. I just wish I had as many cc's as you. I only have 2.8 and I am still not feeling any restriction. Diane

that was a good program and very informative. I taped the program on the 3rd but have not seen it yet. Good for you about cleaning your cabinets! They might not be happy at first but I bet they will later. Diane

Congrads Robin! I just had my 2nd fill and had two days of liquids (my own decision) because I have been between 301 and 303 for a month. I wanted to give myself a kick and hope that I become a Twoterville. Well, I did it. I am now 298!!! I'm staying on mushies for a couple of more days so I can get further away from 300. I never want to see that number again. I don't know if I have restriction yet but it does feel different when I swallow. So I hope I do. Diane

Thinking about getting lapband, nervous
ladydi replied to anonemouse's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Lauarend, I would call her now and not wait. After she ok's it you have to go the the seminar and fill out all the paperwork. Then they send in the info to the ins co and you wait about 2 wks for the answer. I went to my seminar on the 23 of july and had my sx on the 21st of Aug. It goes fast once you get everything started. Waiting until you gain more weight is not smart. It can hurt you with all the medical problems that can arise. The band is a great tool and I am really looking forward to losing my weight. I have only lost 9 lbs so far, but the first couple months are for healing. I get my 2nd fill on Wed and hope I will have restriction and start to lose. Good luck with your discision. Diane -
Hi Boomba, welcome aboard! Thirty lbs is great! I was banded on the 21st of Aug and have only lost 9 lbs. I'm going in for my 2nd fill on Wed, so I hope I will have some restriction and start to lose like everyone else. I feel great and on Sunday I tried a dress on for the first time and 2 of them just hung on me.I was really excited. I guess I loss some inches. Anyway, glad your with us Boomba. Diane

current & former super size bandsters - exercise
ladydi replied to losingjusme's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Gayle, you have done very well! 95 lbs! Losingjusme, did your Dr say it is ok to exercise so soon? I was told that I would have to wait at least a month for the hard stuff like your doing. just wondered. I am going to Curves and I go two times around for 30 min and the stretch for 10. I love it. Its not hard on any certain part. I have bad knees so I have to watch it, but have not have any trouble. Diane -
Bug, don't worry about it! This is what the band is for. If we do not have restriction, then we get a fill. I am going for my 2nd fill on Wed and i too hope I get restriction! I have only lost 9 lbs since sx. I should be happy with that but I am sad that I have not done better. I will listen to the Dr Jamie has and be happy and have patience. Diane

After being filled, how much do you lose per month on average?
ladydi replied to Angelator's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I will be going in for my 2nd fill, no restriction as of yet. I average 1 lb per week and hope that changes on my next fill. -
Josette, you never know what you have loss until you lose it. Moms are so great. I loss my mom 16 yrs ago and I still miss her. One thing I would say to all who still are lucky enough to still have their mom, is to enjoy them now. Life is sooo short and ya never know. I believe that our moms are looking over us and are still with us in so many ways. I take great comfort with that. Remember all the great times you had with your mom. enjoy the laughs and tears spent together. So many memorys we have. Cancer is terrible. 4 yrs is a long time to live with cancer. My mom had cancer for the last 5 yrs of her living and that is hard to watch. Thank you for sharing you love for your mom. I know both of our moms are proud of us and watching with laughter in their hearts. ladydi
