It's almost time for my surgery..Oct. 9th!!! I can't belive it..honestly, i never thought it would get here. I've been able to occupy my time by focusing on my pre-op diet, getting all my supplies together and bascilly cleaning anything that will stand still. My dog and ferret have had 2 baths in the last week! hahah! I'm worried about being able to lay still to let my body heal and explaining to my mom-in-law why i'm laying around in my PJ's. I decided not to tell anyone (except my husband)about having the band installed...i've just read too much about others being under-minded and frankly, i don't need that! i need positive support not a bunch of people thinking that i've taken the easy way out. Hello everyone! I haven't been on for awhile due to the whole back to school thing..i have a 3 year old son who has just started nursery and am also going on interviews for a new job. Congrats to all with their weight loss and good luck to all getting ready to be banded. My op date is closely approaching and i lay awake at night thinking about it. A BIT SCARED! But mostly excited. A question...did anyone quit smoking before having this done? I am simultaneously quitting smoking, exercising and sticking to a LOW fat diet and i feel like i'm going to die. ahahah!!

Yep Oliver...Dr. Chris. I've done a ton of research and he seems like the best option. Are you going by train or plane?

Mine is set for October 9th!! I'm so thrilled! I am an Americian who lives in England and I am having my surgery done in Belgium....but it is the same process over here. Good luck everyone!

Hello again! Thanks so much Bigsis! I asked my husband what photo i should put up and he kindly suggested my gigantic jeans..since very soon i will be swimming in them! He's such a sweetie. Glad we're friends Dizzy...are you coming from a long way away? Has fred gotten back to you? WHEE!! I got my conformation that my surgery will be on the 9th of October...i was so pleased/shocked that i spit my coffee all over the place in utter disbelief...it's really happening..i'm finally going to change my life forever and not have to be the fat/funny comic relief friend anymore. Does anyone else ever feel like that? Well...i'm tired of it and it ends now. Grr!

Hello everyone! I feel like I know everyone already as i've been doing so much research on having this lap-band installed. ha! i've decided to go with Dr. Chris and am patiently awaiting Frederik's reply about my date. eeeekk!! i'm so flippin' excited! I just wanted to say i've read about everyone's up and downs and can't wait until i have stories of my own.:frown:
