Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
DizzyDebs replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi Everyone Just a quickie - I've been getting everything ready before my op on 6th Oct. Just wondering about these girdle thingys. Are they like pants? Do they come up as far as the bra? How do they stay up? Where can I get some? When you have op do you have a bandage for support? or could I wear a girdle then? Any advice would be great. Not long to go now. 1 week before I start the low fat dieting. Thanks everyone. -

Oliverdog (sorry submited my message before I was ready lol) Where are you going on your hols? I went to US in March, wish I'd left it til later in the year cos I need a holiday now - it was wicked though. I don't suppose my 3 days in Belgium could be counted as holiday. I still haven't told anyone at work about op but my son and hubby know. I think I'll leave it at that for now. I'm still a bit nervous, but more excited than anything else. I went shopping today, only Tesco's, but I was looking at all the lovely clothes I WILL eventually be able to get into. And I have boxes of them here as well. Everytime I put on weight , i went out and bought more clothes and stored the others away. I have every size from 10 to 18. I have decided that when I lose weight this time as soon as I shrink out of things I am going to chuck them away. I'm babbling now. lol Everyone has been so helpful on here. In a couple of months time it'll be me and you giving out advice lol. Roll on October. -

Hi Oliverdog I've got my ticker up and running anyway. I'll have to start the diet last week of Sept so I am being really naughty at the moment and eating all my favourite things . I've got the mind set at the moment that I'm not going to be able to eat what I want when I want so I am gonna have it now. I'm going to do low fat before op and I'm gonna get some liquidy things for just after. I'm not sure what yet though - hopefully that bit won't last too long. -

Hi Carrie Thanks for the quick reply. I'm really looking forward to get it done now. Well done on your weight loss, how long did it take you? Is it true I can't have diet coke? I think I'm addicted - my only vice lol. -

Sorry guys, just one more question. When the band is first fitted there is no liquid in it, do you still get weight loss at this time up until the first fill. Do you always need to get a fill? How often do you have to have a fill? Well done to Cassie for reaching her target Thanks again. -

Hi Everyone My date is fast approaching I was just wondering if anyone could answer a few questions for me. Where about will the incision be, I'm assuming just below braline and above waist? where will the port be? Is it around the same area? Do I have to do a liquid diet for 2 weeks, or is it just a low fat diet? I believe it's a liquid diet for 2 weeks after op. Do you think slim fast would be ok for that two weeks until the mushie food starts? After having the op (during the time of liquid diet) if I am in pain, can I take pain killers, swallow whole tablets i.e. paracetamol? Sorry for all the questions, but I do find all your advice invaluable. Thanks -

I've got my date - 6th October to get banded. I've been reading alot of your posts and some of you seem to have a lot of discomfort. I'm hoping this passes? Can anyone tell me, do you always feel that you have the band there, is there a time that you eventually get back to 'normal' and just get a full feeling without the nausea and wind etc. and everytime you have a fill do you always get sick/nausea and how quick does this pass? Sorry for all the questions, I think now I've got the date and its not too long off, I'm just getting a bit nervous. -

Hi Fred contacted me with some dates, I'm just waiting for confirmation. I'll be travelling from London. I was going to go on my own, which I didn't really mind doing - old old man stresses me out too much, but my lovely, wonderful son has agreed to come with me. I haven't told too many people, just family and I haven't told anyone at work. I thought I'd wait and see how I feel. Noodles and Oliverdog -congrats on getting your dates. I'll keep you posted when I get mine. Carriejess - congrats on reaching your goal - I want to be you lol well done Debs -

I don't know whether there is another way to do it, but I just cut and paste the ticker into the message. I'm not sure if there is a way that it constantly appears though. Maybe someone else will know that one?? Debs -

Hi Everyone Hi Noodles I've decided not to wait 'til January so I'm trying to get a date in October now. So you never know, might see you there I've been looking at flights and eurostar and hotels. Where will you be going from. I'll prob get Eurostar - simply cos I never been on it lol I believe the hotel is quite near the airport/station and it is easy to get cabs. I've never been to Brussels (not very well travelled). I'll be going on my own, do you all think this will be ok? do they speak english in Brussels. I'm just worried about not being able to communicate. I'll keep you posted with my date. Debs -

Hi Everyone I am planning on having surgery, soon I hope. I joined the group to research surgeons but have found lots of useful info. Can anyone tell me how long you need to take off work. I was planning to go straight back to work. I've been reading that some of you are getting pain from the port, are you able to work with this pain (I have an office job, so not too much lifting etc.) also, are you able to drive straight after? .I've been given dates for the surgery for October but might leave it until January 2010. Undecided at the moment. Is anyone planning to have surgery soon or who has just had surgery that could give me a bit more info. I was thinking of having surgery in Brussel wih Der Chris De Bruyne. Has anyone had surgery with this Dr recently that can give me some advice or more info ThanksDebs
