LarraineM replied to knotchy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks Dave when you are 55 and respond without glasses things just happen ! Congrats on your sucess. I just get a little miffed @ excuses like "you are older and won't It work as well" I wanted all to know that yet again another excuse won't hold Water. Just work the band and give yourself no more excuses............ -

Is this how it's SUPPOSED to be???
LarraineM replied to OneYearLater's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here is how its SUPPOSE to be. You NEED to see your lap band surgery Dr regularly they are there to help you not judge you. Your Dr. has the experience with all situations. Your team wants you to be sucessfull, please want that for yourself. You are paddleing backwards wihtout even being aware of it. We ve all had our moments Try again go back to your Dr and ask for a redo more interventoin maybe even sitting honestly with your nutritionist and being re educated on the basics again. I wish you the best it s time for you to pull up your boot strings and get going. -
Onederland in sight!
LarraineM replied to hellokittymt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats girl I love Oneder land -
I took a few water aerobic classes I was the youngest at age 53 my classmates were fun. I then just branched off to walking laps in the pool on my own. This was best for my work scheduel.46 laps = one mile became my montra. I did this for a yr. I graduated this yr to walking out of the pool by first participateing in social fun walks I can now do a mile in 15 mins.I do this every working morning followed by my 5k every Sat morning thru my neighborhood. I attribute my time in the pool to strenghtening my legs and back so that I could become more active. I have a ruptured disk in my back........my orto dr wants me to have a fusion.............Hell no ! 100 lbs lighter with the band and more physically fit than any other time in my life................I ve decided to just keep moving for the rest of my life.

6 months and no weight loss...band practically full
LarraineM commented on Gorda123's blog entry in Blog 75657
One question are you weighing your food @ each meal.?............Buy that biggest losers food scale and weigh that 3 0z meal you are susspose to be eating..................eyeballing is a killer, when you are hungry. My other suggestion to go along with the scale is GET an activity you can do WALK,swim anything to get you started. The lap band is no miricle thing it can't work without you being in the game each day. -
Are you weighing what you eat. 3 oz each meal..................eyeballing can be deceptive when we are hungry,I just know that to be true of me.I bought that biggest looser food scale and kissed that problem goodbye.

Its normal to have fears we all have them and YES I had second thoughts right before the surgery too, But my rational side finally kicked in with "you'll kill yourself" if you don't get control of your health. Really its that simple................

My little grasshopper there is no normal.............EVERYBODY is a little different. The journey is long and not without learning many new things.Fight the fellings of frustration with more physical activity your band will cooperate very soon. Just fight the maddness of becomeing frustrated and stay glued to your Dr.for instructions. Don't become one of the many I see posting "I can eat just as much as I did before my lapband surgery" The band takes work and alot of self talk to get you through the tuff times.................Good Luck
-
She'll get over it ! Anyway you go girl and just keep moving forward with your life saving decision. When I decided to be banded I let the world know after the fact because its simply not their decision and I wanted no imput from the peanut gallery. I did't care who knew after my choice was made

What happens when your band is filled completly?
LarraineM posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I feel silly asking but,............. what happens once your band is filled to capasitity ? I have now 7cc in a 10 cc band. I ve been banded for a yr and a half. I ve just never read any thoughts on the subject? -
-
Banded for 1 1/2 now 100 lbs down YEAH ! My band is now filled at 7cc (Realize Band) what happens when I reach 10 cc? the max for the band................. Just wondering
-
Its be awhile but I am still in it ! I ve reached onederland finally mannnnnnnnnnnnnnn the poundage leaving as I call it rate has slowed......... But I am not going to give up. I am exersizeing more 45 min a day treadmill and bike I am doing about three miles a day. I 've started another mode of exercise ,taking part in every 2k fun walk I can find to sign up for on the weekends I 've completed 3 so far.I amazed at how much I really do love to walk. The social experience is good too I refuse to look bad on the streets. My next goal is to do a 5 k walk .....................I ll let yall know when I 've managed to complete the challenge.

worried that I will fail
LarraineM replied to lori1629's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The course is long and filled with alot of self realization. The band will be your aide and tool. You will learn to tell the difference between HEAD hunger and the real HUNGER. There is a difference. You'll learn the rules follow them and see sucess. You will also know the rules and TRY to eat around the band and see FAILURE. So yes its work, No magic answer if you are not commited You will have to incorporate exercize into your life probally like me for the first time in your life. This will have to be for the rest of your life. Stick like GLUE to your surgeon and staff. If you are feeling like the REAL hunger is not in control keep requesting another fill..........Just some discovery thoughts from my journey.................. -
Your kids will understand if they just have uncooked ceral or fresh fruit a couple of mornings during the week. You have to develop a exercise habit for yourself. Go on a thirty minute walk while they eat. A friend once told me that you have to do something at least 28 times to develop a habit. Those words were so important to me 15 months ago. I am a beliver, formally a no no to exersice kinda girl too. But Now if I dont do it at least twice a week my body craves it ! TRY IT!
